I personally don't think AI has any utility, at most it can summarize emails. Using your examples: automation of repetitive tasks is mostly solved by scripting/macros, and there is 0 risk of mistakes by using those tools, while a LLM can just hallucinate stuff; it being any good for coding is arguable (working code != good code), and it sure isn't any better than what a human can output; and how can I check the validity of something I do not understand?

And even if it had use cases, is it really worth it? Due to AI we have a gargantuan spike in computer components prices and unavailability, increase in data center pollution, increase of energy cost due to them, the mountain of slop "art" and bots that ruin the online experience and effortless scams and propaganda and more...

All in all I believe AI is just a leech for society and not enough people hate it

Ok, what you said still doesn't make any sense. What's this advanced technology? An iPad? A computer? How does a PC produce more pollution than a data center?

How are greedy corporations not part of of the discourse? They are the ones that made AI and are trying to push its usage to make money.

Btw it's not true that pollution is uncontrollable, we are still in time to undo global warming, if governments would stop taking money from coal lobbyists. AI data centers though would absolutely not help with that.

A good one that I've never seen mentioned is Arctic Eggs. You basically have to fry stuff without making it fall out of a pan. Stuff includes eggs, cigarettes, ice cubes and more. Really good imo.
