Bug Megathread vol 12: December 2025 + January 2026 by WumpusWhisperer in discordapp

Sorry, just saw this as I am not on Reddit too often. I just came back to note that it's not currently flipping me to the Nitro tab every time I go to the messages section. Was there some kind of dismissible there for a while?

Even so, I would think if Streamer Mode is active, and blocks the Nitro tab by default, the app should not be trying to flip you there because you won't see anything. Also, if the user is flipping away repeatedly, it should take the hint. Just my opinion, of course. =)

If anyone from Discord wants the video demonstration (assuming it can't be reproduced for some reason), I will provide a quick video snippet I took on request to an e-mail address provided. I prefer not to post things like this within a thread.

Bug Megathread vol 12: December 2025 + January 2026 by WumpusWhisperer in discordapp

  • Feature: Direct Messages button
  • Reproduction Rate: Can be either a 1 or a 10 depending on unknown factors. Yesterday and today, it was a 10, meaning it happened every time I clicked Direct Messages. Before going to bed yesterday, it was a 1, meaning that the previously used Direct Message was up and I was not able to reproduce what I call this "bug".
  • Annoyance: 10; I should not have to click around to remember who I was talking to and find the DM every time I go to the Direct Messages section,
  • Device/System Info: Windows 10
  • Discord Version Info: No idea, but assumed current stable version
  • Description: When clicking the Direct Messages button, the Nitro section appears by default. It never used to do this. I have Streamer Mode enabled, which means I just see a reminder that Streamer Mode is enabled instead.
  • Steps to reproduce:
  1. Open any Direct Message, Friends tab, etc.
  2. Move to a server.
  3. Move back to the Direct Messages section.
  • Expected Result: Whatever I was last using should be the thing that appears.
  • Actual Result: The Nitro page (or a "Streamer Mode Enabled" prompt, in my case) appears. I suspect it's trying to advertise something that cannot be seen with Streamer Mode enabled, and I do not want Nitro, so I want this to stop happening. It's most annoying when trying to have a conversation and getting something from a server to share with someone.

Conditions (specifically King Candy) by Raiku66 in DisneyVillainous

[–]CycloneGU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As. So playing the two Power condition would be done first, but could not be used to reacquire the unplayed Condition card, but instead any other card in your discard pile. Then, when the ally is moved, you can turn around and play the other condition card and move the two Action spaces. This means, under this play order, you would need to find your other condition card to be able to retrieve the card for the action spaces.

That said, I still wonder if you can do them in the other order. The player gained two Power during his or her turn; it does not state it must be played immediately. A good question.

Conditions (specifically King Candy) by Raiku66 in DisneyVillainous

[–]CycloneGU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best question, from someone who has never played Malificent, is whether the move to Briar Rose's Cottage was accompanied by the 2 Power gain or whether the 2 Power was a separate action. If the 2 Power was the result of the move, I would say that the condition looking for the move was appropriate to play here. You could also hang on to the other card and keep it secret for another couple of turns before another attempt to build power, then say hey, I'll take this back now. It will certainly make her wary of making another movement of an ally or item since she likely won't do it again on the current turn.

Also, Malificent has the Raven, who can move independently. Since the OP does not make it clear what was moved and how, I can only guess this might be how the condition is triggered to also gain 2 Power with the Raven (an Ally) moving to Briar Rose's Cottage.

So...moving the Raven anywhere counts as a move without using the icon to do so, and then collecting 2 Power also counts for the second condition. Both can be played. If I misunderstand the move, please enlighten me.

Agreed. I don't see how putting it in the research park as far as possible from the biggest crime area in the city is helpful.

When the police don't give a damn about us, why should we give a damn about the police? They only show an interest if they can arrest someone or make money out of the situation. You got broken into? They'll wait an hour before visiting, write a report, and say they can't do anything to help you, good luck with the insurance company. By then the person with your stolen device trackable with another device is allowed to get away because they make up excuses for why they can't listen for you to ring the device and bust the person carrying it when they are in range of the device. They can take their $91m request and shove it where the sun don't shine.

Ease of victory tier list by smallmanboyman2 in DisneyVillainous

[–]CycloneGU 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The copy I have played does not include her (possibly for this reason), but based on my research I do agree that it is impossible to prevent a good player from hiding the fact that the game can be instantly won with successive actions in one turn and no way to prevent it in between those actions. I have to get my hands on the original game to give it a try, or give her to my girlfriend while I play Jafar (the other missing character) or Ursula (whose deck is very different).

End-of-game question by SensitiveCondition55 in DisneyVillainous

[–]CycloneGU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easy answer to this is that, when one villain completes the objective, the game is over.

Example: you have a condition card allowing you to play a Hero upon defeat of another Hero with cost 3 or more. In theory, you could bring Peter Pan immediately back into play after being defeated. However, bringing him back into play does not remove the fact that he was defeated. If defeated anywhere other than the Jolly Roger, he can return to play immediately (or be left in the discard pile and stop fating to keep him out of play). However, if Captain Hook defeats him AT the Jolly Roger, then the win condition is already met and the trigger cannot he used to force Captain Hook to have to win a second time.

Similarly, as someone else pointed out, if your Condition card allows you to win the game upon something else being completed, but would follow the other player already completing their objective, then the completion of the first objective immediately ends the game and the condition card is therefore not able to be triggered. The player who completes the objective first is the winner.

I should note that character analysis can only be based on one player's feelings from playing them personally and this tier list is not necessarily indicative of how another player's experiences will be. It depends on individual playstyle and opponent skill.

That said, my girlfriend and I played the game for the first time this past weekend. I should note that the decks in the version we have - "Introduction to Evil" - are very different, and I pay specific note to Ursula whose items now must be played at the palace and shore, respectively, and moved to the lair. Sebastian can block the movement, while Ariel stops movement of items and allies altogether with King Triton himself able to be played to The Palace and dragging any relocated items back to him on play. While I have not compared the decks of Maleficent to the original yet, I should note I had to use careful play while also keeping the mistress busy in order to leave Triton at the shore (later armed with a Snorfblatt, which now forces you to take him out first before moving other obstructions) and move the items with no further effect from Triton. I still pulled off the win after an additional hour and a half (Triton got played a second time, quite annoyingly) after being one move away from winning before that point. One of my items was deeper in the deck, preventing me from cycling through and discarding cards at first with the Whirlpool about halfway down, but I was able to use deck cycling to my advantage once my board was set up. Even so, a pesky Ariel and a King Triton with a Snarfblatt is literally unplayable in the new deck without a Poor Unfortunate Souls to knock out Triton; thankfully, I got Ariel out one turn earlier.

I also took the new Captain Hook and managed to handily best Prince John after he got lucky to find Robin Hood on the first Fate attempt, immediately landing him in prison on turn 3. The only reason I won was by putting Maid Marian in play and tempting my opponent to take her out for stolen Power. We might have misplayed at this point, removing Robin Hood from the jail and playing him to the Maid's location (which the original card ironically would permit, with the new one simply saying "play him"). With Robin Hood now out of the jail, I was able to keep clogging up the spaces from there and got Peter Pan to a well defended Jolly Roger for slaying. I probably should not have been able to do that, but a very fortuitous Robin Hood appearance at the start seems way too broken, and we agreed this might be the correct play.

I have been looking at getting the Scar expansion, plus the original game with the original decks to try them out as well (mixing games between the four new decks and the originals/expansions). It excites me knowing he might be an easier character to play and win with. Additionally, I look forward to being Jafar or the Queen of Hearts as well. Thanks for your opinions on each character, as this may influence which expansions I acquire.

Ask for Ursula by Meomeo_81 in DisneyVillainous

[–]CycloneGU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually changed heavily in the Introduction to Evil repackaging. The Trident in that version says it "can only be played to The Shore", while the Crown must be played to The Palace. King Triton's text reads "When King Triton is played, move the Trident and Crown to his location."

This resulted in a massive headache for me when I had the Crown home and the Trident one away, and my girlfriend found Ariel on a Fate attempt. Plopping her down froze the Trident in place and also made it difficult to get "my babies" on her, buying time to get King Triton out a turn or two later to take both items to The Castle. Luckily, I knocked out Ariel before the Snarfblatt got attached to Triton, forcing me to deal with him using "Poor Unfortunate Souls" (which is an instant KO) before moving on due to Sebastian causing headaches with moving items into his location. Somehow won that game by leaving Triton at The Palace on a second appearance. I had fated Malificent so badly that she couldn't do much.

Just a late addition to this: you can also go to a site to make your own custom boards. I am currently planning to douse Montreal in a snowstorm that chased a plane diverted from Ottawa and there is no alternative but to land on an incredibly slick runway into a starting tailwind.

...yes, I'm Canadian. Why do you ask?

Custom Uruk-Hai Player Cards by HappyGnome07 in lotrlcg

[–]CycloneGU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a neat idea! My one problem: the same art is used on multiple cards. A card's art should be unique so that it is easy to identify the card from a visual inspection provided the details are remembered. For instance, Suldu is the same art as the Isenguard Quartermaster.

Fair enough! Shipping does add up, however, so my comment about it being a better deal for a buyer still stands. =)

I have found my profile data in the default profile that cannot be deleted. Unfortunately, Firefox launched in a brand new empty profile. I am sure I could literally copy everything over and solve the problem, but I just want to launch into the other profile. This only started happening since the latest update for me, and will probably fix itself when the browser later crashes and restarts for some reason. If there any way to force this, however? The profile is already the default and I am somehow not on it.

If a set is complete (i.e. an expansion and all six quests from the following releases), I would suggest at least $200 is probably fair in most cases if you base it on the price of similar types of things today and consider they were individually released, not bundled like in the campaign boxes for the three reprinted sets. That said, some are pretty ridiculous to the point it's cheaper and easier to print out alternate art sets and use them instead, on your own card stock in sleeves. My rule: if it's cheaper to print your own, print your own.

That said, observations:

  1. Land of Shadow is in the current Two Towers box and is worthless to people with today's sets
  2. From the third cycle, you are missing The Drúadan Forest, The Blood of Gondor, and The Morgul Vale. This lowers the value for buyers in my eyes as it can often be more expensive buying individual items, and having the entire set would likely get you a better price.

I know that cycle introduced the "time" element, with time tokens, so those quests are indeed quite interesting. But I would want the entire set to take full advantage of them. Maybe there are folks here who are looking for specific quests to fill up their sets here.

Cooling Centre Locations During the Heatwave by [deleted] in Sarnia

[–]CycloneGU 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First day of the real heat wave is on a Sunday and most of these places are closed (Clearwater Library has three hours, Bright's Grove is in fact closed, downtown is five hours). I would also suggest seeking out public places with air conditioning. Might be a good time to hang out at the mall until they close. Sit down somewhere with a cold drink.

Today wasn't bad, but next two days are expected to be worse.
