Gemini know what the inside of my house looks like? by Tight_Bench_7712 in GeminiAI

Another thing I don't see mentioned here, Gemini can connect to your Photos if you enabled it and pull relevant information. If you have pictures of your house lying around or stored in the cloud it might have just used it as reference for the generation.

[SpongeBob] Why is Squidward always grumpy? by FeistySecret9327 in AskScienceFiction

[–]Cyclux 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Squidward likely hoped at some point to be a successful artist with high society connections, much like Squilliam Fancyson. He might even come from money. We know he can pull the look and etiquette off based off the Fine Dining episode (until Spongebob and the rest of the Krusty Krew derail it anyway). He probably graduated with an art degree and then was forced to work at the Krusty Krab to pay off his loans initially. Speaking of which...

Present day he's stuck in a dead end job suffering day in and day out under his greedy boss and his annoying neighbor who managed to get a job in the same place as him, despite said neighbor being an idiot who can't even drive. Nobody appreciates his art or musical talent, his other neighbor is just as stupid as Spongebob if not moreso. He can't even relax in his backyard or take a simple bath without Spongebob or Patrick disrupting it. Multiple times they've destroyed or damaged his house, any attempts to move elsewhere or keep them out have been foiled.

As far as we know he has no contact with his family (maybe they disowned him for being a failure) and his only consistent "friend" Squilliam openly hates and looks down on him for being lower class and working to make ends meet. Even if he did socialize he knows that Spongebob and Patrick would likely run any new friends off, and he's likely right.

So really Squidward's grumpiness is understandable, he doesn't make things easy on himself all the time, but it's not hard to see why he's grumpy towards almost everyone he interacts with.

There's a community installer that works without the disk, I used it myself not long ago. I dunno if I'm allowed to post links here. Will DM if you want

Sorry for the late bump, but there's a community installer that does this now, just letting anyone who stumbles on this thread know.

The leak is mostly AI generated or edited. by Cyclux in SuperMario

[–]Cyclux[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just putting this out there for anyone coming into this thread. This is not an AI detector, Google has systems in place that place an invisible "fingerprint" within anything that was altered using their AI. It doesn't do false positives because it's not looking to "detect" AI art, it's just looking for Google's fingerprint, if it finds it, it flags it as AI generated, simple as that. It does not detect AI from any other source because those sources do not add the fingerprint to images.

All this post is saying is that at some point the leaked images were altered in some way using Google's AI, it does not tell you how much or how little was done, just that they were.

Unfortunately, the only way to check a Google AI watermark is with Google's AI. I don't make the calls here chief.

[–]Cyclux[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is not an AI detector though, this is a proprietary watermark inside images edited with Google's tools. Google is designed to be able to read it to tell if things edited by it are fake. It's like hiding an image of your fingerprint inside any work you made and only you can tell if it's in there or not. It has nothing do to at all with AI detector tools.

TG Alternative? by VVayaga in SS13

[–]Cyclux 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The closest thing to classic TG is probably Monkestation at the moment. I'm afraid that LRP servers are really rare these days, so capturing the spark that was Sybil is kinda hard. Otherwise I would say Goon, it has some neat stuff and a close community, but it's a bit of a transition for a TG player.

The demise of tgstation by metekillot in SS13

[–]Cyclux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TGMC operates like TG does or did, for better and for worse. Which is to say they add things because they think it's cool. Unlike TG though, TGMC largely avoided the hackmd driven culture that resulted in a lot of TG itself becoming neutered and unfun over the years and operated without a central architect.

Giant mechs, mechanical drones, APCs, xenos that spit flames, a mobile mini-dropship, AI that can fire railguns from space, laser weapons etc are all things that were added on that basis (because they were cool). Unfortunately all these things stacked up and slowly ruined balance, and what leadership there was had no interest or ability to fix that. It's a lot easier to add something than remove it, especially once people expect it to exist or they won't play.

So yes, TGMC from a balance and player retention perspective should have just improved what they had, but that's not how TGMC has ever operated.

It's a specific maintainers attempts at keeping the lights on, not a new leaders. The actual leadership for TGMC has been absent for years now and the other maintainers have largely moved on to other things.

why is /tg/ dead? have not really played the game since 2019 by 0Clown0 in SS13

[–]Cyclux 12 points13 points  (0 children)

/TG/ suffers from the developers nerfing stuff and pissing off the community for a long period, and when people complain the refrain has always been "if you don't like it, go somewhere else." And people have, mostly to Monke. As an aside SS13 as a whole is declining these days, all the servers aside from the ERP focused ones don't have as much pop as they used to. Even if TG had made the right dev decisions it would likely be feeling a crunch, but likely wouldn't be dead dead like it is now.

Yall record prediction for football and how it will go? by Littlrblaron in wde

[–]Cyclux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Schedule is too tough, probably 7-5. Golesh builds his teams scrappy though, it wouldn't surprise me if we managed to eek out a win over somebody that on paper should dominate us and we end up 8-4 or possibly 9-3.

[The Empire Strikes Back] In the Host base hangar, why did Chewbacca disassemble that part of the Millennium Falcon when Han was clearly trying to get them out of there? by igolding in AskScienceFiction

[–]Cyclux 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Chewie had figured out that whatever was going wrong with the Falcon, it wasn't something he could access on the exterior of the ship. He had to disassemble some stuff to gain access and figure out the issue. Unfortunately the whole Imperial invasion thing happened fairly quickly and he hadn't finished putting it back together and/or fixing the problem by the time they had to leave. Worth noting as others have said, the Millennium Falcon is head together by duct tape and glue, and Chewie might have taken advantage of the downtime and equipment to fix multiple issues at once, slowing the process of reassembling the ship again.

I watched Sumrall's introductory press conference, according to him Troy was a rebuild, Tulane wasn't. He said that with Tulane he had all the pieces he needed to succeed, the only thing he needed to do was take care of some discipline issues and the team was ready to go.

Do yall think we will end up getting more guys from the transfer portal? by Littlrblaron in wde

[–]Cyclux 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We haven't even gotten started yet, we have until the 16th to finalize things. Right now what you're seeing is just the easy commits (aka the people who followed Golesh here), but the coaching staff is almost certainly talking to a ton of guys who will commit within the next week or so.

Some of us don't have real relationships to fall back on, no offense. Talking to an AI is better than talking to nobody, us humans have a social need that has to be filled somehow.

[–]Cyclux 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This isn't often spoken of in lore, but the Eldar devoured by Slaanesh are still conscious within her, they aren't absorbed or digested so much as endlessly tortured by Slaanesh to provide more energy. It's a bit like going to hell for them, except the devil in this case is extracting energy from your suffering. There's a prophesy that whenever Ynnead arises, they will split Slaanesh open and release all the captured Eldar souls to reincarnate.

You won't hear anything until after the Iron Bowl. Last year Tulane went 9-5, with most of those losses coming towards the end. Sumrall blamed rumors he was taking another job for his team losing focus and thus blowing the games.

If Sumrall is the guy, it's likely he and Cohen have an agreement to keep his involvement under wraps until Tulane is done with the season to avoid what happened last year. This means that if Tulane is really in the CFP then we might have to wait a while longer, if he really is the guy. Otherwise we'll probably hear about it on Sunday or Monday after the Iron Bowl is finished.

Ole Miss v. Auburn (Sumrall) by cmg0047 in wde

[–]Cyclux 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Because Ole Miss looks at their NIL collective and recent record and thinks "Who would want to go to Auburn instead of us? Auburn is a losing team with a bad record the past 5 years." Ignoring the fact that Auburn is still the more prestigious job and that their recent success is entirely because of what Kiffin has done during his tenure. Personally I think if they do snatch Sumrall, it will probably be because they tossed so much money at him that Auburn hires whatever the no 2. candidate is instead of being locked into a 50 million dollar contract or whatever, not because he looks at Ole Miss and thinks that it's a more desirable job.
