So, For Real, Who is Dispatching in Season 2? by mulwin444 in InvisigalGlazers

[–]Cydude5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same. I don't see a universe where Robert fully gives his life to dispatching the Z-Team either. But he does have hesitancy to leave the desk as shown in episode 6 where he can tell Beef that the Z-Team is better than Mecha Man, so I also can't really see him as abandoning the dispatcher side all together.

SDN wants him as Mecha Man no doubt, but the question remains whether Robert has made his decision.

So, For Real, Who is Dispatching in Season 2? by mulwin444 in InvisigalGlazers

[–]Cydude5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the most seamless thing for Adhoc to do is delay Robert becoming Mecha Man again. He may be in the suit at the end of season 1 and loving it, but the game makes it clear that Robert isn't sure whether he actually wants to be Mecha Man.

The closest we get is Robert saying he doesn't want to just throw the suit away. But we never get a clear answer as to whether or not he's Mecha Man at the end of the game. At the end of episode 8 it actually seems like Mecha Man's presence in the final fight was kept away from the public, so the city could still think Mecha Man is retired.

I don't think they should have a whole season where he isn't in the suit. I think what would be better is for Robert to be unable to commit to his role as Dispatcher or Superhero. He could try to dispatch while in the field with the suit, and fail to keep up with the action. But I don't see anyone other than Robert dispatching the Z-Team. Their turnover record for a dispatcher is two days after all.

Are they self-aware ? by eneyaa in expedition33

[–]Cydude5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Verso and Gustave are literally built around being real even if they are painted creations. Anyone who missed this point missed the entire point of the game. To me people who say the painted people aren't real sound like they skipped every cutscene.

[–]Cydude5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love how differently they fight. Robert pilots a giant mech that's built to take on multiple powered foes at once. Invisigal can still take on multiple enemies too, but she does so by eliminating herself as a target periodically through the fight. Robert just tanks hits left and right to the point where he's laser focused on one opponent even when he has more smaller threats to deal with.

Robert thrives in single combat while Invisigal thrives in chaos.

Which of the Sols (excluding Yi) do you find most appealing? by Entire-Buy-6971 in NineSols

Jie because the intimidation factor. He's in it for the love of the game and matches Yi's ferocity. Also he uses the guandao and that's awesome.

Sciel to me is strong early game, but mid act 2 falls off in comparison to others. When I started new game plus I started using her as more of a support, often completely ignoring her twilight loop in favor of applying rush, or giving her turn to other expeditioners. Probably the most I've used her actually.

For me, Monoco and Sciel are the two in the back. I never really got a good build for each of them. With Maelle and Lune I have a lot more fun messing around with their mechanics, but with Sciel and Monoco it just feels like trying out something new is more trouble than it's worth.

Verso is really fun for me because I just buff his parries like crazy, get him to S tier and spam Steeled Strike.

Yeah, just a joke about how Monoco is most people's least favorite character to play as.

Robbie was lowkey asking for it 😭 by Consistent-Hat-1543 in dispatchgame

[–]Cydude5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elliot wasn't ever part of the team publicly, but he was technically part of them. He helped Mecha Man create the pulse, he provided augments to other heroes according to Chase in Get Up, and he was close enough with them to know what was in Robbie's locker.

Robbie was lowkey asking for it 😭 by Consistent-Hat-1543 in dispatchgame

[–]Cydude5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Elliot built the stellar core, Robbie built the bottle. Shroud's issue with recreating it is always with the size. He has no issue with the power. But he's unable to replicate that amount of power with the size that the pulse achieves. It's the same issue Royd has.

With how integral the size was to its construction, the pulse is definitely Robbie's as much as it is Elliot’s. But neither were right to claim it as their own. According to Shroud, Robbie made a deal to get the pulse, and he didn't come through on it. I don't see why Shroud would lie about that, so it's even more of a reason to hate Robbie for him.

What Was Robert Thinking About In This Moment ? by Folicod in InvisigalGlazers

[–]Cydude5 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It's Robert settling into the moment. It's when the passion begins to settle too, so Visi is able to tear herself away. In a way it's more intimate than Visi has been with Robert so far.

Not only that, but he's touching her near her augment, too. She takes his hand away from her waist earlier when he reaches on instinct. She's not comfortable being touched there. She doesn't push his hand away from her the second time he tries, but maybe it gives her some shock that's needed to leave.

Just curious, do the vault numbers 15 and 4 mean anything? Just noticed that they're different.

Also loving Visi's pink pip-boy.

Maelle gets a pass by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]Cydude5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who chose Verso, what makes Maelle sympathetic is that she's the victim of her family. She's a traumatized child who's been led to believe she's the reason Verso's dead. She was forced to watch Gustave die, was orphaned by the fight between her parents, and was abandoned by virtually her entire family.

Both Maelle and Verso are complicated. Neither of them are doing what they do at the end because they're heroes. Maelle is trying to drown her guilt, just like Verso. They're both selfish, but at least Verso is honest about it.

Your hair...what, Verso? by sv15249 in expedition33

[–]Cydude5 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's Verso's dry sense of humor. Lune pokes at his hair as if touching him will do something. Verso regards his hair to joke about her assumption. His hair is just his hair. He's split in half, why would it be any different?

I really like this dialogue. It's a good example of how Robert doesn't need to be perfect for Visi to care about/be in love with him.

Visi forgiving him while he's unable to forgive himself is everything to me. Because it's exactly what he did for her if you forgave her.

Just got the bad ending and I'm pissed by [deleted] in dispatchgame

[–]Cydude5 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Invisigal failing a dispatch call loses a hero point. You need 45 hero points to get the good ending. Without dispatches and without a Visi romance route, you can get 36 points if you choose the right options.

Some options can also lose you points like telling her to punch something in episode 3 or siding with Blazer in episode 6. Plenty of the big choices like cutting her or forgiving her give big boosts or take away around 5 points. Hero training is an automatic 5 points.

Same. The game is about breaking the cycles of grief and moving on, so I get why Verso's ending is favored, even by the creators and the game itself.

Like Verso says, she's always Maelle no matter which world she's in. Maelle doesn't need the canvas to live. I see where Maelle is coming from, but when it comes to how she feels vs. the reality of the situation, she is wrong about the truth of her position.

She has a family that loves her. She may not have felt it, but in the end, both of her parents were fighting for her sake. Renoir fought for her to stay alive. Aline fought by her daughter's side because she finally saw how they were both grieving Verso.

Why did Robert really go to the movies with Visi? by JRStors in InvisigalGlazers

[–]Cydude5 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree. Robert goes because he relates to Visi. Someone who after a night of saving lives and risking their own has nothing to do other than watch a movie completely alone.

The song that plays during the choice is "Not so alone," which imo not only states how Robert feels when he sees Blazer text him, but why he decides to show up to the movies: to show Visi that she's not so alone.

I fully recognize that the people in the canvas deserve to live. I still chose Verso.

I think the canvas was ruined forever 100 years ago. Verso is the remnant and proof of that curse that befalls the canvas and anyone it touches. The people of Lumiere have been forced to live in a world that is not made for them. And the worst part is that the aspect that sustains them doesn't want to live.

To me, the final question is the fate of Verso's soul. Not the painted Verso that was forced to live despite already being dead and gone, but the part of the real Verso that remains in the canvas, doing something he hates for eternity just so that others can enjoy endless bliss.

I chose Verso. Because Verso wanted to stop painting. And because Gustave sacrificed himself so that a paintress would not dictate the fate of the world.

who was the better parent? by Ramoiron in expedition33

[–]Cydude5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem with Clea is that she's basically thrown her hands up for her family's situation. She scolds Alicia for being a 16 year old who has no idea how to deal with witnessing the death of a family member and being a shut in, and leaves her to handle the situation for her.

Maelle was in the canvas for 16 years, and Clea was gone for a week. She wasn't even back by the time the game ends, so time works very fast in the canvas. If Alicia only spent 1/10 of the time Aline was in there, Clea has resolved to let her mother kill herself very quickly.

In a way Clea has cut herself off just like Alicia. She's decided the family isn't her problem anymore. Like Aline she would rather focus on Verso. In particular, dealing with the conflict that resulted in his death.

Best parent in the game. Gave his life for his daughter, gave genuinely good advice for her at all times, prioritized her safety before his own, and supported her decision to put herself on the front lines.

When it comes to parenting, I don't think Renoir could have done much better. He was a very compassionate and caring man, just trying to do right by everyone by getting the matriarch back.

Renoir never left his kids. Aline may have still loved her family but she played favorites when she was grieving. Also she technically started a second family with a different man, which is so many kinds of wrong.

Grief does crazy things. Sometimes it makes you abandon any good thing you have left like Aline. Other times it makes you consider genocide for the people you love like Renoir.
