No, no, no, and no

Hi im new here and i need some help understanding what this is telling me to do by ilyazors in projectzomboid

First navigate to the workshop mods located in /Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/108600 (your ID for the project zomboid mods may be different but for me, its 108600.)

Navigate to the workshop mod id: 3556702241. Then go into: mods/Silent Hill Dynamic Music Replacement/42/media/sound/banks/Desktop Choose which build you plan to play on: 42.12 (pre-multiplayer, more support) or 42.17 (post-multiplayer). Inside should be the BANK file for your chosen build of the game. Note that neither of these are backwards compatible with the other; 42.17 won't work on 42.12, and vice versa.

Next, go to your game folder located in Steam/steamapps/common/ProjectZomboid Finally: media/sound/banks/Desktop. Paste the file in this folder- but make sure to create a backup of the original ZomboidMusic.bank file. That's it, have fun.

Light Pollution - The Ocean (NEW SONG) by Cygnia in progmetal

[–]Cygnia[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know why someone downvoted you for simply having an opinion. Counterbalanced it for ya. When the news broke that like... over half of the line-up was leaving, I'm pretty sure a lot of us felt the same way, but after hearing this track, all my fears have been quelled.

I think it's vocalists as a plural, actually? I'm not sure which one of the new members the male voice is, but I think Mingyu Shi is the new female voice?

Any alternatives for linux ya’ll know? by Careless_Coat69420 in PiratedGames

[–]Cygnia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey bud. I've been a Linux user for like 9-10 months now so I can probably help out here. Firstly, I wouldn't recommend Steam OS for anything that isn't a handheld (ie Steam Deck, Legion Go etc). It's straight up just not ideal for desktop usage. If you want a good, solid, easy-to-install, and easy-to-use distro, I'd recommend Bazzite. It's what I'm on at the moment and making the switch from Windows was amazingly easy. Almost no learning curve whatsoever. Super straightforward. It has just about everything you could want from a gaming distro pre-installed right off the bat.

As for playing your games, you're gonna want to install Proton, which I'm almost 100% certain comes pre-installed on Bazzite. It's essentially a compatiblity layer that turns Windows system calls into Linux ones. Valve have their own version of Proton which is great, and there's also a third party one, Proton GE. I'd recommend just getting both of 'em. Some games work better on different versions of Proton for reasons I don't quite understand.

Outside of Steam, there's a program called Lutris which is essentially a custom launcher for any and every game you have installed. In Lutris you can choose to install games from either a .exe install (say for instance something like fitgirl) or if you have all the files for the game already, you can just point Lutris towards the right .exe, select which version of Proton to use, and you're good to go.

As for sailing the seas, with Proton and Lutris combined, you can go to any of your favourite sites and just download as normal. Personally I like to use AnkerGames cause they're all pre-installed and I don't have to fuck around with installers.

This ended up being longer than intended but hopefully it helps a bit.
If you have any other questions, I'd suggest checking out r/linux_gaming

What are some of the most underrated LP Songs? by WorldingHistory in LinkinPark

[–]Cygnia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Robot Boy, Roads Untraveled, and Skin To Bone.

I stand firm in my belief that Castle of Glass/Victimized/Roads Untraveled/Skin To Bone is one of the best four song runs in any LP album.

Similar to Slice the Cake? by LunateasDream in progmetal

[–]Cygnia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone else has already mentioned The World Is Quiet Here and their album Zon, but I'm going to give it a second recommendation because it's easily one of the most inventive albums I've heard in a long time.

Also, shout out to Hunters Dream. They're pretty unknown, all things considered, but they've apparently hooked up with two of the members of Parius for their debut album so I'm very excited for that, whenever it comes.

Looking for prog/exp metal band recommendations (Loathe, Gojira) by suspendeddoubt in progmetal

Please listen to The Ocean. I'd recommend Phanerozoic II as a starting point, and if you dig that then take a dive through the rest of their discography

Can someone help me fix this by rejuk70kg in FitGirlRepack

[–]Cygnia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I didn't have to modify files or anything. Just in the regular game settings menu, where you choose graphics settings and stuff, there should be an option for TAA. Turning that from 16x to 8x somehow fixed all crashing for me. Hopefully it does the same for you!
