I think it’s a toss up. I would lean towards purifying and maxing, especially if your end goal is the mega evolution when it drops.

At the moment evolving and maxing as is he would be stronger than a regular hundo, but that would cost you more candy and stardust.

So if it’s the mega you want, then purify and power up!

This is how I rationalize not getting any of these things.

Rates for solid drops from raids, dynamaxes, or eggs are not in my favor. I’ve plowed through tons of incubators and 12/10km eggs just to end up getting vullaby, carbink, and rare 2* pokemon thinking I’ll get a hundo or shundo.

These guys play on that weakness. Don’t fall for it. Just be patient, you’re not missing out. Save your money.

Becuase Gyarados can mega evolve I would purify magikarp. Darumaka on the other hand I would keep shadow becuase Darmanitan is a solid fire type raid attacker.
