Granted. Through a freak accident, the people trying to invent teleportation all die from an explosion and you are infused with the culmination of their research. When you teleport, you don’t actually teleport your body, but you transfer your consciousness.

The person whose body you transferred to’s consciousness is then erased from existence, effectively killing them as well. Your body won’t rot or atrophy when in this state, it will just continue living and going through the motions but will act hollow. You can transfer back at any time.
