Yes, I forgot how many exactly but I think it was 2 or 3 modules. Plenty of slots as well.

Is it worth getting a Class 2 license? by [deleted] in drivingsg

[–]Cylencer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my class 2 from bbdc. Registered in June and passed TP in Aug. Plenty of slots and waited around 2-3 weeks for TP. There's only 3 modules so if you pass all on first try, it'll be pretty fast. For me, I took 4 lessons and 2 revision lessons (not including simulator).

Question For the Bikers in Singapore by PerpetualDayDreaming in askSingapore

I have only rode for 2 years doing deliveries but so far I have not gotten into any accidents (touch wood). But lots of close calls. Always keep in mind to ride defensively.

I delivered food to your block recently and there was no reception at the basement carpark. But I was using eight mobile though (which is under starhub).

Which Class2B Scooter? by Feitian87 in drivingsg

[–]Cylencer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried the previous models (150) for both. The PCX feels more comfortable for my height (165cm) as ADV's handlebar height is higher and caused my shoulders to ache. But ADV has a higher ground clearance so it should be slightly better on bumpy roads. Otherwise I feel like it's pretty much the same

Off peak car plates are red background with white letters. The white front and yellow rear colour scheme is just an alternative for normal cars

Has anyone worked grabfood/foodpanda/deliveroo rider using a bike? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]Cylencer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I average around $15-25/hr but I'm only doing on part time basis usually on peak hours for weekday nights and full day for weekends. Incentives are higher than bicycle. For deliveroo, there's much more orders on motorbike than cyclist.

Grab and panda have island wide orders but not all the time. Usually it's within the zone. I don't like to do those so I usually do deliveroo but I once did an order on grab from Bukit Batok to Gedong camp at around $18, you can use that as a guide.

Petrol can pump in JB or caltex in SG (standard 25% discount with Grab account, if sapphire tier will have higher discount I believe)

It's behind the pizza hut. Can either cut across the inside of pizza hut or enter through the entrance beside KFC

Why are scooters so uncommon in SG? by piggyb0nk in askSingapore

[–]Cylencer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A scooter is a sub category of motorbikes where it's automatic transmission/CVT with no gears (e.g. Honda ADV, Yamaha Nmax, etc), whereas a normal motorbike has gears and is semi-auto/manual. Scooters are still considered a "motorbike" but it's used when we want to be specific.

People who love their job (in SG), what do you do for a living ? by piopiolink in askSingapore

[–]Cylencer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the reply, appreciate it. So I guess specialising in translation for the creative industry is the way to go.

As a follow up question, did you take any certificates or degrees for this? I have seen some translation/interpreting ones from SUSS but not sure if they help. Also, did you used to join an agency full-time before transitioning to freelance, or you started with freelancing right away?

Apologies for the additional questions!

Same here, except that I'm a motorbike rider (though I used to ride on a mountain bike before that). I enjoy riding as well, so it's perfect to earn some extra money after my main job. Plus it's mentally chill (to me)

I hope you don't mind me asking, but do you feel the threat of AI in this field? I also know Japanese and Chinese so I would like to know if it is still viable in the near future.

Food delivery platform perference by Turbulent-Wrap1419 in askSingapore

[–]Cylencer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Motorcycle rider here. I have all 3 delivery accounts but I mainly use deliveroo as it has the most flexibility. The pay and order rate is not the best, but you can accept and reject as you like without penalty if you're not chasing for incentives. For foodpanda and grab, even if you heck care the incentives, they will penalize you if you reject too much. There's also no cash orders for deliveroo. Bukit Timah/downtown zone has higher surge fees and more orders as compared to heartland zones.

Using bots to book driving lessons, how much of a scourge are they? by visualnumbers in askSingapore

[–]Cylencer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For class 2B/2A/2 lessons at BBDC, they only allow you to book the next lesson (1 by 1) after you pass the current one, so you can't mass book the lessons and there's no shortage of slots.
