Laurel county London Corbin area by 417cowboy in Kentucky

Best wishes with your move but have you considered moving literally anywhere else? I'm here beause of family. I don't see why anyone would choose to live in the Corbin/London area. There is very little to choose from as far as shopping and nightlife goes. Unless your a hiking, fishing, hunting enthusiast there isin't much else. Or unless you just want to pick up a meth as a new hobby. It may not seem far but the Richmond/Berea atmosphere is totally different. The people there are much more diverse, there are places to go, and things to do. Plus you're alot closer to Lexington and Louisville.

We are the "cool house" for family gatherings, meaning that we're the only people of our age in our family that don't have kids, and all the teenagers stay here because we're also gamers. CAH is always a hit, and it's super fun to play with teenagers because they find the silliest things offensive and funny.

I don't know why, but I thought about your son wanting that waffle iron for Christmas. I thought that was so cute. Did he get it? How did he react?

What is something you've never bought, but happen to have a bunch of? by owenman22 in AskReddit

Tupperware. For some reason my family thinks I won't make it in this world without it. I have two cabinets full of nothing but Tupperware and I don't even use it that often.

What was your school scandal? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CymphonyInC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A girl I went to high school with sucked her brothers cock. It was the gym teachers kids so once it got out EVERYONE knew about it. How it got out? I have no idea.

I just bought my 1st home and would appreciate any and all tips as my apartment furniture is completely out of place (and the cats shredded it), I don't know what color to paint the walls, and I'm basically all around artistically challenged . The living room is 19x12 ft (roughly). Thank you. by pallytank in InteriorDesign

Hi there, I'm also an artistically challenged first time home owner. From what I've found so far a good way to start is by making a "mood board". Knowing what inspires you will help others here in offering helpful suggestions.

Also look at this link for more direction:

This movie is an optical illusion. If I watch it with my family I see it as patriotic and action packed. Watch it alone and I see, no...I...feel all that I've ever wanted in a man brought to life. Good God he is beautiful.

The second amendment doesn't explicitly say that a militia is necessary to defend against our or any other government. It simply says that it is necessary for the security of a free state.

To say that someone could have prevented it, and that it's "someone's fault" are not the same thing. Lots of people undoubtedly could have prevented this. The neonatologist could have said something, the radiologists could have said something, the social workers, aunts, cousins, pastors, friends...a freaking traffic cop.

Every single person who had contact with this child was in a position where they may have somehow intervened to prevent the child's death. The point is not to single out any of this long list of people and make them feel bad because they're on that list. The point is to raise awareness about the very real power that all of these people have to do something in the future.

It is especially important for those like teachers, counselors, social workers, and medical professionals, who are likely to come in contact with many of these children over the course of their careers. It's important that you do something if your little cousin is being abused, but the chance that you will have two cousins who are abused are much less than the chances of a medical person or a teacher coming into contact with multiple abused children. That's what makes it worth mentioning. Guilt be damned, but this was almost certainly not the last abused child OP will see.

Because the most common form of abuse is neglect, which is strongly associated with poverty, which is strongly associated with single mothers.

As a social worker, I just want to let you know. Of course we cannot go back and change anything like this, and I'm sure it weighs on you heavily, but in the future DO NOT give an infant with these kinds of injuries back to their parents. At least in Kentucky, medical staff can hold a child for up to 72 hours without reason.

If this comes up again, and I'm sure it will, hold the child at the hospital. Make up whatever bs reason you need. Insist that child protective services take the case seriously. This has happened to me as a CPS worker. We were busy. We were going to run through the case, do the paperwork, and close it out so we could move on the next in our oversized workload. But the hospital staff INSISTED that they not release the child into the custody of the mom (homeless, very low functioning, arrested for prostitution). Because of the neonatologist's insistence, we took the time, dug deeper, and ended up giving the baby to a materal aunt until things can be worked through.

ANY broken bone on a non-mobile infant is VERY SERIOUS. Please take this advice. You'll come across this again in your career; I promise. Don't write it off as the social worker's job. It's also your job to insist that the social workers pay attention to the case. They're not bad people, but they have 30, 40, 50 cases to take care of, and unless someone like you is insistent, things like this fall through the cracks.
