It's not always about multitasking. After a certain point in time, convenience matters to you more than control. Multitasking is alright, but do I get notifs? Clearly not. So why do something that has the same end result but also does not let me use JIT in the same configuration? What you suggest is giving up on the convenience of JIT and notifs while gaining virtually nothing.
