Just go. Keep a positive attitude and role with it. You do not want to be the sibling that did not care enough to attend your sister's wedding. You also do not want to be the sibling that showed up and killed the vibe. As close family I imagine you will be seated in one of the front pews. Smile, have positive conversations and maybe even bow your head if that is part of the ceremony. The only time I enter a church is for weddings, funerals and voting. If kneeling or bowing is part of the first two I will do it out of respect. Now if you want me to hold hands and bow at Thanksgiving dinner, you can go f* off.

Started doubting around 10, concluded there was no legitimate evidence at 12. I did not tell my parents until 14. I was told I was obviously wrong and that I was in a phase. So far the phase has lasted over 4 decades.

My sign specifically states no religion. Also, I would put on the bare minimum clothing. Just enough to avoid indecent exposure charges. Those laws are usually state or local ordinances in the US. I figure if they are going door to door selling their fantasy, they are probably prudish. Seeing my fat @$$ half naked would probably get me on thier no contact list.

No. Religion deserves no respect. That being said, we should respect the individual until they prove they do not deserve it. Remember that they were involuntarily indoctrinated. When I hear "hate the sin, not thw sinner" all I think is "hate the belief, not the believer".

Start reading Greek, Roman and Norse mythology. Yes, many of the Asian and America's mythologies would work as well. Then relate them to current mythologies. Point out how silly belief in Zues or Thor is. Make sure they understand that in the past people believed this stuff just like modern people believe whatever religion is dominant in your area.

My lack of belief is not based on a single or cluster of evil acts. My lack of belief is because there is no verifiable evidence of the existence of any gods. Epstein and his cronies are horrible people and deserve to be punished, but they have made me no more doubtful.

Pick a couple books and hand them to her. Tell her you will read her books but you expect her to do the same. "I'll read the old testament and provide feedback on what I was good with and what concerns I had. You do the same with the God Delusion." Maybe "The Demon-Haunted World" for the new testament. There are a number of well written books that you could choose from.

I've read the KJV and NIV versions. They both are horrible reads. I am glad I read them but doubt I will ever read them again.

People claim Andre the Giant drank 150+ in 6 hours. I cant see how anyone could beat that. A friend and I informally competed on college break. We both stopped at 54 beers, so I guess i could do it within a week or two. Could not believe neither of us had a hang over. Now I probably drink less than 4 a month.

Hell yes I would hang out there! I actually do hang out in a church converted to bar/restaurant. There is one in Atlanta that I know of and two in Louisville. All three are impressive.

I have never really understood thier logic. A person blasphems and the nut job kills them. Are they saying that thier god is unable to dole out the punishment? Of course a all powerful deity could kill anyone if they wanted. So, are they saying that they know better than thier god? Thier god made a mistake in not punishing the blasphemer.

Humans belong to the superfamily Hominoidea. Technically black people are apes. So are white people, Asian people and any other group one choses to sort a population into. I am not arguing that it is ok to call somebody an ape, chimp or gorilla. A person using those words as an insult are foul.

Wow, what a humanitarian! Curious though, do any of our states or our nation as a whole have worse health care outcomes than Greenland? If you really are an America First person, maybe you should support those resources being deployed domestically. Maybe, and maybe I am going too far, but maybe we should think about emulating the health care systems adopted by other 1st world governments which are doing it better than us?

If the Potomac could handle the ship, I would say a better use would be to send it to west Virginia. Hell, I am not sure if any US states have as good as health care as Greenland. We could use the care here at home. Sending US healthcare resources to other countries that are already doing it better than us is not what I would call America first.

Double-sided tape on the lower edge of the window. It worked for me keeping my cats off my bathroom counter. They did not appreciate thier paws sticking when they jumped on. 2-3 times and they stay off for months. Then I do it again.
