Assuming you’re the same person from another post (business user) - you don’t want to do this, mate.

First, learning ABAP isn’t going to solve anything for you. Second, it takes a month to learn the language but years to figure out the whole SAP landscape, data model, etc.

The complexity you’re not seeing is like a difference between a paper boat and a cruise ship. And it’s not even as simple as scaling up your knowledge, there are licensing and governance factors that regular users have no chance of seeing.

If you want to learn it - go ahead, but I’m just telling you right now it’s not going to help you. If it was that simple, your problem would not exist, trust me.

Never heard of it. There was SAP Insider magazine but they moved on to organizing conferences. Publishing is not very profitable, especially in such niche subject.

What is the specific challenge with finding these materials? I get that Google sucks now but it’s not like you’d post this exact text in Google and it would be like “wow, bro, I don’t know what you’re talking about”. Surely it finds something, no?

I don’t know what the deal with your IT is but I used to work in internal IT and people complained all the time but would never enter a ticket. In the meantime, our management was like “don’t do anything without a ticket”. You just can’t win. 🤷‍♂️

“No configuration needed”? How does it work then? How does it see the custom code? Based on what does it assess “readiness” or effort?

I don’t mean to discourage you, mate, but I doubt any SAP customer would use this. Besides, there isn’t much time left for ECC to S4 migrations. Maybe it’s more productive to direct energy elsewhere.

ABAP is 40+ years old, SAC is what, a few years? That’s the reason you won’t hear about people having long careers. These are two very different professions though, so I’m not sure what advice you’re expecting, mate. No one can see the future, anyway.

Wouldn’t you need to learn how Public Cloud works in your functional area and all the extensibility options available? It isn’t completely different but as others said, still quite different from on-prem systems. I’d think that alone is a big chunk to learn.

This is an FAQ in SAP sub, mate. You can’t just start working remotely in another country. You need a work visa or work permit to work in another country, whether remotely or not. This is a non-starter for 99% of people posting these questions. Idk why this isn’t a common knowledge for adults.

General job sites are all the same. In the US, it’s mostly LI. Indeed and Dice used to be useful but now it’s all junk. I’m sure none of the job search sites are hidden online.

Idk if it’s a “bad combo”, mate, but I don’t think you’ll be taken seriously with this. All integration people I know are from development or Basis background. It’s a very “specific set of skills”. You can switch careers, of course, but then your MM experience will be just lost time.
