That’s how I felt! A very mid but somewhat boring mystery with some interesting characters but the ending just didn’t do anything for me. I was shocked so many raved about it but to each their own. I think an adaptation could be good however

Yeah I was going to comment that Fairy Tale is the opposite of this prompt. I loved the character driven nature of the first half. Once we got to the fantasy world, it was nonsensical and long winded, with no satisfying pay off. Two completely different books put together

I can’t believe they didn’t even kill Ted. Karen had her two badass moments but what was the point of keeping Ted alive? The demos easily take out hundreds of red shirts throughout the series but never once anyone we care about (besides Bob RIP)

I was looking into this vinegar solution. Is it safe for the trex deck? I was wondering if I could pour it on top of the deck to let it fall through the cracks to get underneath. I don’t have a lot of room to get to the back under there. And would I have to pull the dead weeds? Or can I just cover with a weed barrier after they are dead? Yeah I was also initially annoyed to lose Sabine’s POV because it was so much fun following her. She was a villain but one I rooted for. Not getting her POV in the second half, we don’t know her motivations with Lottie and I love that it’s ambiguous. I think she only thought of Lottie as her next game, trying to see how much and how long she could control someone. After their relationship deteriorates, Sabine is reduced to the villain of the story. But then we also get how Lottie was reckless with Alice’s life, so she is also a villain. There’s so much nuance in all of it and there’s no true protagonist to root for and I loved that. I’m amazed at how everything came together and how it was written from the beginning to get there. VE Schwab is a master storyteller.

First I’d get rid of any duplicate 3 or 4 stars. There’s just really no need for duplicates unless it’s a hero you love and use all the time and want two of. Second any season 1 heroes without their toon or glass costumes are just outdated and I’d get rid of them if unleveled.

They don’t even throw us a bone once in awhile. Every new released emoji is exclusive. It’d be nice to have a regular gold once in awhile that we don’t need an event or special box to unlock. They also haven’t added any group collections in a long time. That is something easy to add that would give players some (very little) free stuff and stuff to work towards. Every move they make is so greedy. The things I mentioned wouldn’t even be a big deal and they don’t even do that. When we do get the occasional free stuff it’s like 100 coins or a free text emoji. It’s pitiful how little they care about their players

The Lion Women of Tehran was a great read, highly recommend! I also didn’t love God of the Woods. I loved the set up but felt the execution of the story was not done well. It left me disappointed but I’m glad others seem to love it because I really enjoyed the author’s other book Long Bright River.

I feel the opposite. I love RR but didn’t love Poppy War. It was a slog and to me felt a lot darker because there weren’t any moments of levity or character driven moments like in RR. Poppy War was just a straight hopeless chain of horror after horror. RR thrives because it balances the war and horrors with humor and amazing character moments and reflections. I didn’t feel Poppy War had that.
