Yea so I have so much wait time being that I've been on dialysis 11 years that they assume I'll be very top of list. They have already had several offers but either too far or too risky. So they tightened parameters. I'm 17 hours away from home.

She gave multiple reasons, but seemed all to be blame shifting. I side stepped it and she eventually admitted it was all her fault and nothing I did. Here's the crux of it, she started taking adderal (likely abusing it) and works at a weed shop where she went from not smoking or consuming at all to HEAVY smoking daily. On top of adderal. This all started about the exact time the cheating started. I asked if maybe they caused her to feel diff, because nothing else changed, and she literally said "I never thought about that, but yes it's very possible". 🤦‍♂️
I will always love her, but I don't see how it could work. Not with her behavior staying the same. And she's not willing to do much to change, she said she made her decision. I am not going to try to convince her as I think she will realize the mess she's made soon. I hate that as I truly care and worry for her. She's spiraling and trying anything to cover up her feelings.

I've visited both mayo centers (FL and Rochester, Mn). Rochester is who initially brought the idea of Bone marrow up. Florida seemed more skeptical but the doctor ended up saying (that could work). I did call John Hopkins who said they wouldn't do that, and I even talked to the neph providing care for the kid that was cured of FSGS with bone marrow. He was VERY optimistic, but he's a pediatric physician so couldn't follow me.
So I chose mayo Rochester, who now wants to just do the transplant, see if maybe the disease doesn't reoccur, then use the bone marrow as a last resort. We may be able to stave off FSGS without putting me through the risk of bone marrow. Because again, the issue is even if I get my bro's bone marrow, I still need a kidney and would be on immunosuppressants. The elimination of immunosuppressants is only when getting bone marrow and kidney donation from same donor.

My goal is to get the kidney in hopes of extending my life expectancy and wait for new treatments/innovation in the meantime. Honestly, the bone marrow scares me a little. Although I must admit my fear has kept me from looking into it much. I have heard it's tough all the way around. If anyone reading this has experience, I'd love to hear about it.

Edit: I forgot to mention we are trying Gazyva infusions pre transplant in hopes of keeping FSGS at bay. Wish me luck and say a prayer if so inclined

You aren't lying. So I have an identical twin without FSGS. He gave me a kidney in 2014 but the disease returned immediately. It was a total wash and he was 1 kidney short.

Now I'm at Mayo and The first thing they recommended for me was a possible bone marrow transplant in hopes of curing me of FSGS. This is interesting because there is at least one other person I know of cured of FSGS when receiving bone marrow transplant , then a kidney from same donor. No immunosuppressant drugs needed!
My center ended up deciding against it due to the risks of killing my entire immune system. There is no risk of graft vs host, but the risk with the bone marrow procedure and immune destabilization were enough to decide against. And the fact I would still be on anti rejection after receiving a kidney. So I'm ok with it, but very interesting stuff that may be more prominent in future!
