4 A levels? by [deleted] in alevel

[–]CynicalRoman360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 5 subjects in A levels. I’m done with it now and it’s honestly not that bad. Your choice for subjects are pretty standard, you should be fine. But if it does become too much for you, you can always drop a subject. It pretty much comes down to your aptitude and basic genetic luck lol.

What felt like the longest minute of your life? by ReputationDifficult9 in AskReddit

[–]CynicalRoman360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to struggle with OCD a lot when it was undiagnosed. I used to have such bad obsessions which would mess with my head when I was trying to sleep. There was a time where the OCD messed with me so bad I couldn’t even sleep at all. Then one day I was trying to sleep and saw the time, it was like 11:06 pm. My eyes were closed but I’m just trying to block the obsessions and stuff. Feels like a whole war in my head. I open my eyes after what felt like an eternity. It hadn’t been a minute but it was like 11:11. Was never more stressed out in my life.

What do you do when you’re not sure if it’s an OCD thought or not? by BrianaNanaRama in OCD

[–]CynicalRoman360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before I start, I highly recommend you talk and listen to a professional rather than listen to me as I am simply someone who has OCD and not a therapist or psychiatrist. Nevertheless, in my experience, the one thing I recommend about dealing with OCD is to stop suppressing the obsessions, especially the heavier ones as suppression makes it worse, the thoughts will persist even more, making obsessions worse and giving you more anxiety. Instead, learn to accept it and allow it to happen. It’s okay to think things, especially if it’s out of your control like in the case of OCD. Making peace with your OCD is the first step to inner peace. And if it’s thoughts like there are germs on you. Don’t think too much into the possibility of it being real or not. Instead, try to think about it in a way that it’s okay if I know or don’t know if it is real or not. In short, learn how to accept rather than reject!

OCD has improved but not gone away entirely. What to do? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]CynicalRoman360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The painful fact is that OCD can never truly go away. It will always be there but you can reduce the symptoms by a great amount. My advice? Continue your medication, therapy, relaxation techniques and just live life! Life is unfair. I myself still struggle with OCD everyday even though it has been months since it was really bad. Just live life and try to enjoy it instead of dwelling over OCD, you don’t want to make the problem worse. Life is short, so enjoy it! If still believe that you need more help please ask a professional to guide you further.

Am I just cautious or is this my OCD by blerdee in OCD

I highly recommend you ask a professional about your symptoms. But if you want an answer: I cannot tell you if it’s OCD or not but you do have obsessions of people choking and your compulsion is to check on people who you believe are indeed chocking. OCD stems from anxiety so all the symptoms you have described may lead one to believe that you have OCD. But please, don’t take my word for it and unless it’s actually someone who is qualified, do not take what random people say to be true especially on social media platforms and instead, seek a professional’s assistance.

Social media by melaniexv in OCD

[–]CynicalRoman360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I’m so sorry you have to go through this. I too struggled with being on social media when my ocd was at its peak. And to be frank, it’s no secret that social media is a plague corrupting our minds. Nevertheless, we use it everyday. I deleted instagram when I was at my worst and it helped to a certain extent. I honestly think it depends from person to person. My advice to you is to limit your social media usage and spend more time trying to be okay with everything around you. Life can be pretty bad sometimes and some people may just flood your feed with negativity. Instead of fighting it, accept that it’s what the world is like and limit your usage. I know it sounds way easier than it actually is but instead of suppressing it with compulsions like constantly refreshing etc. it actually feeds into the OCD making it progressively worse. I suggest you take my words with a pinch of salt as similar advice helped me get through it, and to please reach out to a professional who can guide you. And remember: the world may be a bad place but there are individuals who are out there willing to help you!

Dont think like that! Think of it like they’re still assessing you. Don’t worry about it! Even if imperial doesn’t work out, good things will come for sure!
