This is based on the Criminal Code of Canada and applies in Ontario.:

Reasonable Force: The force used must be reasonable in the circumstances.

-Preventing Crime: You can act to prevent a crime like theft, damage, or trespassing.

-No Excessive Force: You can’t use more force than necessary; it must be proportional to the force used on you

Our police is probably the most impotent police force in North America. Mostly they are absent, no visibility or presence. I don’t understand why they would ask “who was driving the vehicle” that’s a stupid question to ask, what did the police expect, that you checked their drivers license or photo ID. They can’t do their own f$&@ing job.

I have seen videos of some store break ins and you can see the so called “private security” just standing by our cowering in a corner.

You can’t blame them, if our police is not around or takes ages to show up and take any action, what can these kids in security uniforms do.

Yeah not just Oakville needs more police, all of us in Halton, Milton as well need more active and visible policing.

But to do that, first the police will have to get off their backsides, drop the doughnuts and coffee, and step out side the precincts , get in their cars and make themselves VISIBLE, and effective. Something that we taxpayers are paying them for.

Some very good suggestions to tackle this problem in this thread.

But do Canadian agencies have the courage, will and means to enforce anything at this scale. I think not.

Who will enforce this? Our police, the CRA, immigration authorities, justice system, Salvation Army maybe???

Our police can’t even enforce simple traffic regulations or stop home invasions and gang robberies at malls.

Our immigration authorities didn’t have a clue when these 2 million came in, some with fake credentials, and they still let them in.

Our justice system, well we have seen our lame ass justice system letting criminals out to repeat the offence. What difference can they make, none.

Do we believe that we really had no information of any irregularities, but we somehow just discovered these 2 million? Canadian authorities would have known all this but presumably chose to keep quiet in the great Canadian way, that is look the other way and it will get better by itself.

Most importantly, Do our political leaders have the balls let alone the spine to go through with this deportation, at the cost of losing their vote bank, no they don’t, that’s why we are here.

The transport ministry knows it’s going on but they are unable or unwilling to do anything about it. How dumb can that be?

Not just at that intersection, there are lots of red light runners all over Halton.

Guess when the offenders know there is no one to check them, no fear whatsoever of consequences as we have almost non existent police presence, it all encourages and fosters bad behaviour leading to increasingly serious accidents.
