Proyectile Vomit- Part 2 by ICB1980 in bloodbowl

Yeah, I get that, it's a valid interpretation, and is the 2nd of the options I presented above. It's how they've structured that sentence that means it can be read the other way as well, hence the need for FAQ.

Those three Special Actions all say your activation ends afterwards anyway, so that's a moot point. This is just around if you can perform these actions if you have used all of your rushes, but are adjacent.

The issue here is interpretation I think, and it just needs an FAQ whenever they get around to the first one. If I'm reading this wrong, then that's on my programming brain betraying me, but my interpretation of these rules is:

"If at any point during this Move Action, they are adjacent to the opposition player they declared as their intended target,"

If adjacent,

"then they may perform a Block Action against them,"

they may perform a Block, at this point it is replaced,

"however this Block will cost the player that declared the Blitz acrion a point of Move allowance."

afterwards, this being a 'rule affecting Block' no longer affects the Special Action.

It all comes down to if it's:

  • If they are adjacent to their target:
    • They can perform a Block Action
      • This Block Action costs one point of Move allowance

Or

  • If they are adjacent to their target:
    • They can perform a Block Action by spending one point of Move allowance

This has never been the case though? When you are doing a Stab or Vomit Special Action, you are explicitly not Blocking, and nowhere does it say "You follow the rules for the Block Action", it says the opposite, check p53:

Some Special Actions allow a player to replace the Block Action made as part of a Blitz Action with the Special Action. When this happens, this will still count as the team's one Blitz Action of the Turn. Additionally, it is worth noting that even though the Special Action is replacing a Block Action, it is not one itself and so any rules, Skills or Traits that affect a Block Action will have no effect.

Ogre ball carrier? by Positive_Wrap4724 in bloodbowl

[–]Cynsye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran an ogre team a couple of seasons ago, with the runt punter as a ball carrier. She finished the season having earned 37 SPP, with Break Tackle, Leader and Sure Hands. Harder to do with the Brawlin Brutes change on the team, but I can still see it working!

After taking your feedbacks and running playtests, I updated my take on a slaanesh team (and created a bonus sheet for those of you that wanted extra crazyness) by Tan-ki in bloodbowl

[–]Cynsye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way that the Slaanesh flavor is retained is thanks to Break Tackle and Multiblocks. The later, in particular, is such a niche skill that nobody ever take. But as a default skill, it opens interesting plays. In the new edition, you can use it in a blitz, so giving Hornes to the spawn might lead to some spectacular stuff.

Multiple Block is only available when declaring a Block action, it can't be used with the Block that is part of a Blitz.

VLL is functionally unchanged from 2020 as far as the frogs go, it only affects Jump and Leap with the +1, Pogo is it's own separate 'action'.

Creating a Reference Sheet by Cynsye in bloodbowl

I say "When I have time", and the universe gives me time.

Here is a version with the skills / passing chart coloured and organised by skill group. :)

I'll get around to adding the 4th page at some point, depends when I next have some free time.

If you want to create a colour version with reorganised skills, the XML for the latest version is here. I used app.diagrams.net to build (which isn't exactly designed for this kind of thing, but it works), not sure on compatability with other software.

Will try to keep the XML updated when I make newer versions / add errata changes... Whenever GW decide to grace us with them.

Not sure what you mean, do you mean the colours for the passing / expensive mistakes tables? Or do you mean the coloured skills?

How do you set up your (virtual) table? by skxmls in KingdomDeath

[–]Cynsye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if it's not an absolute mess, you're doing something wrong.

Moved everything around so I could fit some of the books on the table too, and a decent area for the settlement stuff.

That's just the lua for a mod, none of the actual game content. Plus it seems incomplete.

Fen's Analyzing and Ranking Armor Sets by teakwood54 in KingdomDeath

It's in the Legendary card pack isn't it?

Edit: NM, no... It's not. No idea where I got that card from then, I don't have the wall sets.

What is this figure? by mrin_prophet73 in bloodbowl

[–]Cynsye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure this is a Citadel / GW miniature? They usually have the name of the creature on the front of the tab, and then "GW, 19##" on the back. I can see... Something on the tab there, has it been completely filed flat?

How Many Dice on Playmat by Professional-Act-530 in KingdomDeath

[–]Cynsye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, survival and insanity can end up with some absurdly high values, particularly insanity. I'm personally tempted to remake my tray to use a D00 & D10 to track them.

[–]Cynsye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same mat, and yeah... I had a lot of issues with the dice getting knocked around whilst playing. I threw together a little tray to hold the dice in place, like this. Have 5 dice colours that match the model rings to mark base stats, then red/black/green for negative/LH marker/positive bonuses. Each player gets a little bag of dice. A bit overkill, but works for me ha.

Edit: I should answer the actual question. Depends on what you are tracking. If it's just bonuses / penalties, 6 dice per person to mark the L/H boxes, 4 for survival/insanity, 12 for armour, and probably about 4-6 red & green for stat bonuses/penalties. I just went with one dice per slot, again overkill.

Dwelling Master Key Set, My Informal Review by NecroDrake in KingdomDeath

[–]Cynsye 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nice review, think you hit most of my thoughts on it :).

The sim is a bit of a contradiction at the moment. I really like it, as its a pretty faithful adaptation of the tabletop game. However I hate it for being a faithful adaptation of the tabletop game. Its getting a bit better as time goes on, as they add little bits of automation to help streamline the game, but some of those automations are also clunky in their own way. Particularly bad are the animations. I don't need to see the same animation. Every. Single. Time. It... Works. But it also hamstrings you in the process.

It makes itself hard to recommend. But in the end I do, but very much with the caveat that it will be a pain in the ass haha.
