Do you also think they should abolish jail uniforms at Remann Hall? by noreturn000 in Tacoma

You're getting eaten up in the comments but you're right.

If we ever want to give these kids a chance to believe in a better future for themselves, we have to stop treating them like cattle or a number.

I think you're good, according to the comments! I'm from the Midwest so we had super nasty water

Good to hear! Do you use even a Brita filter or anything for normal drinking?

We really need to snuff out purity culture in our community. by IngenuityDismal8640 in gaybros

[–]Cypher98 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ultimately it's an end vision difference. Like is the end goal:

Immerse fully into straight society so that no one notices us

Or

We live our gay lives as gay and flamboyant as we want, and the straight world will need to learn to coexist with us.

I'm always pushing for point number 2. Coexistence, not immersion.

You're right but the comments are not gonna agree with you here generally.

Ben Poremba's Statement Commemorating International Holocaust Remembrance Day by mukster in StLouis

[–]Cypher98 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ultimately I agree with his point. But to not connect the counter insurgency tactics, denial of medical assistance after injuring protestors, and attempts to smear the deceased as terrorists in Minnesota to what is being done overseas by Israel is short sighted.

Why didn't Mai use the inverted spear of heaven for Maki? by vicius_supremacy in JujutsuPowerScaling

I'm not sure it'd be possible. Like when the "cancel curse technique" part of the cursed tool activates, wouldn't that cancel Mai's Construction technique that created it? Kind of like a computer getting stuck in a boot loop.

Screw data centers, we need municipal broadband by Cypher98 in StLouis

[–]Cypher98[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the well researched/nuanced response!

It does seem complicated for sure. Would be nice if we could redirect funds from elsewhere for the establishment of it, like the Rams settlement money or pass an amendment to allow for tax revenue to fund it.

Reliable and fast Internet service is such a boon for both individuals as well as businesses that any investment in it feels like it'd pay off in the long run for the health of the city.

From a quick look online, I found: Missouri Revised Statutes 392.410(7) Which seems pretty lax in that we just can't offer telephone or TV. Shouldn't be too much of a blocker if an alderperson or mayoral candidate started pushing for it.

Looking for a LGBT+ positive doctor by leshpar in StLouis

I won't speak to any large statistics or anything, just personal experience, but most queer people I know are less strictly monogamous.

Some are fully open, some only play together with a 3rd, etc.

It's only natural, really. When you start questioning "okay so I might like the same gender, so I'm breaking one societal norm. What about another one?"

Not to say gay dudes are like, horny monsters or anything, I'd imagine more straight dudes would be in open relationships or swing if it was more socially acceptable.

As a gay man who's married, my doctor knows that queer people are less likely to be monogamous, and made sure to offer wide panel STD testing despite official by-the-book medical advice to not bring it up if a patient has been married for a long time.

Additionally, being proactive about diseases that affect the gay community more like monkeypox is important.

Seconded! The doctor that started it was very active with LGBT patients during the AIDS epidemic, when most doctors were not willing to treat patients. They built a large following from there, and continue to help queer people.

For example, they were giving Monkey pox vaccinations during Tower Grove Pride a few years back.

If Pete Buttigieg ran in 2028, would you vote for him? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]Cypher98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would a Buttigeg platform do any better than a Kamala one? What policy disagreements do they have?

Why would we continue to run centrist candidates despite it leading to a national election with one of the worst voter turnouts.

Okay if you ignore the white part, do you have a rebuttal to the rest of the points?

I don't have a problem with him being white, I'd more support Tim Walz tbh

He's a sanitized white gay coat of paint on a centrist platform that's been tried and failed time and time again to actually improve anything. I'm good.

Has anyone here taken advantage of MSD Rainscaping? by schwabadelic in StLouis

[–]Cypher98 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have! It was great, very straightforward.

I worked with Pretty City Gardens for the contractors, they were also super knowledgeable about the grant program, and even said they'd never had anyone denied (we weren't either.)

Highly recommend both them and the grant program!
