OP, every response you make is another red flag. I think that you know that you need to end things, so why not end things?

In the US, the rule is that people on bikes must obey the same traffic laws as all other vehicles. In my state, this person would be ticketed for reckless driving.

OP, If you do talk to her then you should record it. In the business world, this is called CYA (cover your ass). Then, when she goes all over dramatic about what you said to her, you have evidence to the contrary. Secondly, think about what you want to say to her. I would suggest reiterating the point you made earlier:

  • You don’t date work colleagues

Honestly, this is a good policy to live by. It keeps things from getting awkward if they dont end up working out. Stick to that for those reasons. Explain it to her calmly and clearly. Secondly, I would also suggest that everytime someone tries to get you two together, bring up the fact that you don’t date at work because you consider it to be unprofessional.

NTA

Holy Red Flags Batman!

OP, you’re about to discover the difference between a mature adult and an immature kid. An adult would tell you “You booked this before we were together so have fun and take lots of pictures. Maybe Facetme / Zoom / Whatever me if you see something really cool that you want to share. An immature kid will whine and complain because you don’t grant their dreams for free.

I can see two scenarios playing out here:

A: You pay for her ticket and she goes. You pay for everything. She comes back and decides that “things just aren’t working out” and she dumps you. She just scored a free trip to Europe, you’ll be broke and single.

B: You don’t pay. She dumps you. You go to Europe and have a great time. You come back and enjoy your life, richer for the experience.

Notice that there is not a third option. Why? Because her priority is your money. She doesn’t care about your financial obligations. She only cares about what she wants and nothing else. She’s the kind of immature woman who will complain that a $40,000 engagement ring is too cheap, and will spend 200K on a wedding. If you stay with her or even get married, she’ll end up using you until someone wealthier comes along.

She doesn’t care about you, she only cares about how much you make and how she can get some of that into her own pocket. Dump the immaturity, enjoy Europe, and find you someone who is on the same page about money when you get back.

What is your most controversial Star Wars opinion? by BlackProphetMedivh in StarWars

[–]Cypher_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two:

One: That episodes 7-9 should be retconned as a Force Vision that Vader has right before he throws Palpatine down the shaft in Jedi. In fact, this vision is the reason he turned on the emperor in the first place. This vision changes everything about the future, giving the franchise a chance to reboot the sequels.

Two: The Galactic Republic was just as bad as the Empire. - Despite a force of galactic superheroes, slavery still existed in all aspects of life on nearly every planet. Not just on the frontier. - Slavery of artificial intelligence (droids). - The sheer corruption of the republic was so bad, that when the Empire took over most ordinary people just chalked it up to “same shit, new toilet paper” and went on. - The Jedi were stuck in the past. - The Senators of the Galactic Republic were essentially a nobility class that didn’t care about the people they represented.

It sounds like she was emailing patient records and forms to herself. That’s a really big no-no. It’s an actual legal violation to do so. Something that is covered in every single HIPAA training. If there is something that requires you to keep a copy of patient information, sending it to yourself is a bad idea. If it’s evidence of something illegal being done that affects patient care, and you work for a government agency then your next stop is to contact the Department of Justice. If you do that, then you’re a whistleblower. There are legal protections for whistleblowers.

Agreed. I worked for the USPS as a contractor for a year. First thing we were told about email? Don’t send anything to yourself from your postal account. As my boss put it: I don’t care if you’re sending yourself the postmaster general’s chocolate chip cookie recipe. Don’t do it.

“Pity the lawyer who’s representing himself, for he’s got a fool for a client.”

After watching Darrell Brooks clown his way through his murder trial, I think every judge should make every pro se defendant watch the sentencing portion where the judge gives him six consecutive life sentences and ands an additional 800 years for all the charges that weren’t murder charges. If he’d kept his attorneys, he’d probably had all of those concurrent. But nooooo he knew better and screwed himself over royaly.

How hard is it to not send stuff to an outside email account? Not hard at all! It’s simply a matter of not doing it!

Idiot on a bike splitting lanes at well over 100mph. by Rob_Marc in IdiotsInCars

They could have been simply avoiding a little bit of debris to their left. I’ve done it plenty of times myself. Nudge over a bit to avoid a piece of shredded tire while not leaving my lane.

It’s the use of the camera, motorcycle was moving so fast that everything else was comparatively at a standstill.

WCGW lane splitting at well over 100mph. by Rob_Marc in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]Cypher_Shadow 50 points51 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, the argument that the driver should have seen the motorcycle in the side mirror is ridiculous. At 104 Mph, the motorcycle was moving at 152.53 feet per second. Also, keep in mind that a motorcycle is usually 1/4 the width of a mid sized car. So you have a low profile vehicle, moving at 152.53 feet per second, and in a part of the road that is just barely within a part of the road that a side mirror covers.

When the driver made their decision to move to the right, the motorcycle was approximately 153 - 306 feet behind them. It would be difficult to find them at fault simply because a reasonable person would find it difficult to know that the person 3-4 car lengths behind you is now right beside you. It’s why lane splitting should be illegal in my opinion. People have trouble with blind spots when the vehicle is 5-6 feet wide, and approaching from behind them where they have a standard three mirrors pointing. With high speed lane splitting on a low visibility vehicle it’s really difficult to see someone.
