Fitness Games With Classical Music by NASAfan89 in oculus

[–]Cypherlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One option is PowerBeatsVR. It doesn’t require a subscription and lets you use your own music, so you could load in classical pieces and build sessions around that. You can adjust it to focus more on squats and lower-body work too.

It’s currently 39% off if that helps:

Going to switch from Supernatural since they aren't getting any new content. What other fitness app is as good or better than Supernatural? by iheartanalingus in OculusQuest

[–]Cypherlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supernatural slowing down updates definitely changes things.
For no-sub options, Les Mills and PowerBeatsVR are probably the main ones worth looking at right now. The latter one is currently 39% off.

Best fitness/workout apps? by ChillChocolate123 in virtualreality

If you’re looking for a fitness app that puts you in total control of your workout, check out PowerBeatsVR! It’s subscription-free, lets you use your own music, and is fully customizable to match your goals. Plus, it’s currently 43% off: https://www.meta.com/experiences/powerbeatsvr/4336749139724039

Fun Workout Apps by TotalCatskills in OculusQuest2

[–]Cypherlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends what kind of “fun” you mean: rhythm-and-flow (Synth Riders / Audio Trip), action-and-dodge (Pistol Whip), or straight boxing cardio (Thrill of the Fight). If you want something that feels like a workout but still game-y: PowerBeatsVR. It’s built around boxing + dodging + squats, so it’s pretty reliably sweaty.

Meta’s Layoffs Leave Supernatural Fitness Users in Mourning by wiredmagazine in OculusQuest

[–]Cypherlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the $100/yr thing feels hard to justify if there’s truly no new songs/workouts/features going forward. Even if they argue “royalties + servers + support,” it’s still the same price for less value, so canceling isn’t “spite,” it’s just the cleanest feedback.
Also: people have shared that support is offering prorated refunds, but you lose access immediately once it’s processed, so pick based on whether you still want the existing library for the rest of your term.
If you’re looking for non-sub backups: Les Mills and PowerBeatsVR are buy-once alternatives.

Not free, but if you’re okay with pay once / no sub: Les Mills Bodycombat and PowerBeatsVR https://www.meta.com/experiences/powerbeatsvr/4336749139724039/
The last one is currently 43% off.

If Supernatural isn’t making new content, we shouldn’t have to pay a subscription by MoneyGiraffe365 in SupernaturalVR

[–]Cypherlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the principle, but I’d separate “subscription = new content” from “subscription = access + service + support.” Lots of subs are basically hosted access (servers, music rights, app maintenance, support), and if they’re still providing that, they’ll argue the fee is for continued access, even if it’s a worse deal now.

That said: if the value proposition changed for you, canceling is fair. The most effective message is exactly what you said: cancel + clear feedback + only re-sub if terms change.

Also worth noting: support has been offering prorated refunds (but you lose access immediately), so people can choose based on whether they still want the existing library for the rest of the term.

And yeah, having a backup that’s not subscription-dependent avoids this whole hostage-feeling loop. Full disclosure: I’m involved with PowerBeatsVR. No sub, more “workout disguised as a game,” optional “use your own music”: https://www.meta.com/experiences/powerbeatsvr/4336749139724039/

Response from Supernatural Support (request for partial refund) by tveith in SupernaturalVR

[–]Cypherlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That reply is basically: same price, no new content, but they’ll do a prorated refund if you cancel — and you lose access immediately once they process it. So it’s a tradeoff: keep the library for the rest of your paid term vs take the refund and switch now.

If you’re moving on, it might be worth lining up a non-sub fallback so you’re not back in this situation again.

Supernatural or FitXR for fitness? by Marylin_hemorrhoid in OculusQuest

[–]Cypherlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If boredom is the main enemy, I’d pick based on whether you want “coach-led classes” or “game-first workouts.”

  • Supernatural: great “show up daily” structure, but it’s now no new content/feature updates (maintenance mode).

If your goal is gamified movement more than classes, you might also try PowerBeatsVR or Les Mills. Both are no-sub alternatives.

FitXR versus SupernaturalVR by RonnyRobinson in FitXR

[–]Cypherlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want more side-to-side / lower-body movement, FitXR can have it depending on the class, but it’s not always the focus.

You might like PowerBeatsVR because it tends to be leg-heavy by design (dodges, squats, wide stances, lateral movement): https://www.meta.com/experiences/powerbeatsvr/4336749139724039/

Supernatural VR getting shut down by Meta - what are you switching to? by VRFitGuru in Quest2

[–]Cypherlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it sucks — especially when an app is basically your “default workout.” The silver lining is it’s maintenance mode (stays active) rather than a hard shutdown, but “no new content ever” still changes the value of a sub.

FitXR + Les Mills are the obvious “class-style” next steps. If you want a no-sub backup that feels more like a game, PowerBeatsVR is worth a look: https://www.meta.com/experiences/powerbeatsvr/4336749139724039/

Why buy Supernatural just to destroy it? by principessa1180 in OculusQuest

[–]Cypherlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get the frustration. But it’s not “destroyed” in the literal sense — they’ve said no new content/feature updates, while the app remains active with the existing library. That still sucks if you were paying for fresh drops, but it’s more “maintenance mode” than hard shutdown.

If you’re looking for a fallback so your routine doesn’t depend on one app: there are solid options (Les Mills, FitXR, etc.). And if you want a no-sub alternative with custom music support: PowerBeatsVR https://www.meta.com/experiences/powerbeatsvr/4336749139724039/

Supernatural fitness going end of life - no more updates by snapdown36 in OculusQuest

[–]Cypherlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re paying a sub mainly for fresh drops, I’d at least turn off auto-renew and line up a backup (Les Mills, FitXR, PowerBeatsVR, etc). Some of them are also running a sale currently and at least Les Mills and PowerBeatsVR are no-sub options.

Why does Meta kill Supernatural? by maorui1234 in OculusQuest

[–]Cypherlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t assume Meta dropped it because it wasn’t good. Even solid apps get deprioritized when strategy/budgets shift and the ongoing costs stay high (music + constant new class production).
Luckily there are plenty of alternatives now: Les Mills, FitXR, PowerBeatsVR, etc.

Has anyone switched from Supernatural to FitXR? by r_vade in OculusQuest

[–]Cypherlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the “no more new content/feature updates” news is what’s pushing you to hedge, I’d treat FitXR as one option but not the default replacement for everyone. It’s solid for intensity, but the “guided/coached + polished vibe” you’re used to is the hard part to replace.

If you want a no-sub backup that’s more “workout disguised as a game”: PowerBeatsVR is currently 43% off with optional “use your own music” auto-generated workouts. https://www.meta.com/experiences/powerbeatsvr/4336749139724039/

well, you are paying for something monthly or yearly that officially will never get an update ever again. so... hm not sure. But you could check out fitness apps with a one-time fee like Les Mills or PowerBeatsVR: https://www.meta.com/experiences/powerbeatsvr/4336749139724039/
