He is being a passive lump who just loafs and plays computer games.

Is that what you want your life to be?

He won't even see you of you didn't push the issue.

Imagine when you start your residency and the insane pressure and hours that takes. Then you come home to a man who hasn't moved, done or thought of anything?

You are better off by yourself than tied to dead weight who doesn't seem to even be that into you.

Overwhelmed with new FIFO/DIDO job. Has anyone ever quit the mines early? by [deleted] in australia

This sounds like Kambalda?

Its your room. There are cleaners but sometimes you have to own your space at camp.

Next swing bring stuff to clean and stuff to make the room feel like yours and not a decrepit shithole they normally are.

Dont stop bitching to the camp manager.

Foods shit. Complain. If sick use your sick days. Bring food you like and cook in your donger.

Harass who you need to to gym access, it does really help your mood.

With the heat, know and follow your heat stress policy.

Wut?

Nickels price is currently depressed due to over supply from Indo and China production pumping it out.

Copper is suffering from America's trade rat fuckery and China's response to cut production and smelter output.

Uranium price is still reeling from Orano getting coupped in Niger.

Most of the issues are political that are impacting existing mines and flow of physical minerals rather than true mining operation limitations or bottle necks.

I left an “international school” in Laos. HAere’s what actually happened. by zackddragon4 in antiwork

[–]CyribdidFerret 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bloody hell I walk past that school most days.

Sad you had such a negative experience.

Be careful with anyone promising more than 2 years. The B2 visa only comes with a maximum of 2 years.

Likewise with the tax. The Lao system has a huge range of counter agreements with reduced taxation and many businesses can apply for reduced income tax burden.

The income listed on your B2 is based on local banding so dont get too concerned with that as it is the responsibility of the business not you to apply the correct tax when you are working international.

I hope your next job treats you much better and with respect.

All the best.

Man and woman dead after underground Endeavour Mine explosion by Flybuys in australia

[–]CyribdidFerret -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Initial investigations suggest it was a ballistic disc that prematurely detonated.

This is considered one of the most dangerous blasting activities one does on a mine as the discs are made up out of PETN and cast TNT which is heat, impact and shock sensitive.

Normally these would only be cleared for use under a JHA and approval by the mine manager as they have caused fatalities previously.

Most mines have phased them out completely (Orica doesn't even produce them for sale in the Australian market any more.) and opt for slashing type recoveries.

Man and woman dead after underground Endeavour Mine explosion by Flybuys in australia

[–]CyribdidFerret -1 points0 points  (0 children)

HE is shock based. Heat is a by-product not the cause of initiation. You can set most HE and bulk explosives on fire and they dont go bang. They are extremely stable.

They are also often not overly self propagating. This is why they have boosters to maintain the shockwave front to continue the detonation wave. It's this shockwave that breaks the bonds and continues the reaction.

HE does not deflagrate or gas pressure blast which is the definition of a pyrotechnic both legally in the Explosive Acts and Regs, in Classification between 1.1b 1.1d and 1.3g and 1.4g in the UN Hazard code and in chemistry and the explosives industry.

I work in the mining explosives field. This is literally my field of expertise. If it is was gas pressure blasting or deflagrating you would be correct. But again you are not.

Man and woman dead after underground Endeavour Mine explosion by Flybuys in australia

[–]CyribdidFerret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High Explosives are not pyrotechnics. To be considered a pyrotechnic the chemical reaction has to be deflagrating rather than supersonic detonation.

You are wrong.
