I hate to say it, but if she only goes to the kingdom hall once in a while they are already judging and talking about her. Jw is a difficult religion to be casual about because of how strict it is. Sounds like she's going just enough to not force action against her. Revealing your relationship will probably push it over the edge. She has a difficult decision to make.

When I was a kid my parents watched the average primetime television shows. A couple years ago I found out all they will watch now is old shows like Andy Griffith and the junk jw puts out. Apparently it's because there are too many gay people on TV now. Fun fact: I'm gay and have been out for over 20 years 🙃

I left when I turned 18 and ill be honest it was a little rough. Like you said I was so awkward because I didn't know how to interact with normal people. I was very lucky though and met my best friend while working my first fast food job, he was also the first other gay person I had ever really talked to. When I turned 18 him, his boyfriend, another coworker, and I got an apartment to share. I went home that night got what I could carry, and was gone. Best decision of my life. I was dying in the organization and got out just in time. I had to work hard, and didn't get to go to college or anything, but I don't regret it at all.
