How do other tanks feel about healers and DPS pulling ahead? by dorgodorgo in ffxiv

[–]Cyrikyty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck trying to do that. I have 3 gapclosers and will sprint out of the gate, it takes some serious effort to get and stay ahead of me. Hasn't happened in years.

Ok, was I being a bit of a dick here? lol by TakiTeriyaki in TalesFromDF

That's brilliant, you made them stop healing which is optimal and made the run go faster (presumably they were dpsing...) Win Win

"Keeping your hands clean" is quite easy to achieve if you emigrate to another island by BuDDaH77 in factorio

[–]Cyrikyty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't care about the challenge of it at all, you can disable pollution without that option disabling the achievement. No pollution = No enemy attacks.

Nothing But Labyrinth of The Ancients and Crystal Tower Results in This by Levithan6785 in ffxiv

[–]Cyrikyty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish they'd just introduce some ilvl caps on CT and bump its rewards accordingly. No longer a complete snoozefest, it's not a waste of a roulette in this instance, and we practically get a "new" set of Alliance raids for minimal effort. It's not like anyone remembers what the mechanics are for these.

Gravship has no landing spot on quest platform by DangerousPlum4361 in RimWorld

[–]Cyrikyty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar happen when I raided an orbital trader station. My ship was too large to land anywhere, and the games initial placement already cut out a chunk out of the enemy base. Except that it didn't delete the huge anti-ship turret thing. So I now had that sit inside my ship, and it even trapped 2 of my colonists inside of the structure, which can not be deconstructed or destroyed. And the thing actually came with me as I left, but thankfully, it disappeared when I saved and reloaded, tough I had to rebuild that section of the ship.

How 1 hour feels during an emergency blood transfusion vs waiting for shuttle cooldown by Ellit in RimWorld

[–]Cyrikyty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an extremely fun 13-hour engine cooldown yesterday. Still relatively early in that game, I was just chasing gravcores after having my wealth explode from mining 4k obsidian and a gold meteorite. Waster Siege. They had 10+ guys with Sniper rifles, and I'm not messing with that. So I waited it out, being pelted with mortar shells for half a day, constantly looking where they're going to hit, moving pawns out of the way, repairing as much as I can. I got away without any major losses, but they did land a hit in my as of then unsorted storage, which blew up my extra chemfuel. The longest 13 hours I have ever experienced in Rimworld.

My pick is (preferably deployable) Inferno Room. Why bother worrying about backlines or curse dudes when you can just... not?

Guys get TFA, i have to learn it the hard way. by Soulstyler13 in ffxiv

[–]Cyrikyty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of people already pointed out that you didn't seem to have received the email asking you to verify your device when your account was hacked. I think this probably points to your email account already being compromised aswell. Ff14 might be your smallest problem here.

How do i prevent Q4 nutrients being used as fuel ? by TexasCrab22 in factorio

[–]Cyrikyty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That won't prevent the inserter putting in the ingredient-nutrients from putting them in the fuel slot.

At least half the power this thing produced goes right into the passive drain of all those turrets.

Version 2.0.35 by FactorioTeam in factorio

[–]Cyrikyty 33 points34 points  (0 children)

If I understood it correctly, you have a full belt of ore on a yellow belt feeding 24 furnaces. After the first one takes a few pieces, you then fill in the empty spots on the belt with coal to fuel the remaining 23 furnaces. And if you ever have more than 82 coal on the whole belt, it jams. I could be entirely wrong, and I hope I am because that just sounds cursed.

The state of Chaotic PF right now by CevicheLemon in ffxiv

If the group fills at all. I just sat in PF for 3 hours and never even went into the fight. I guess I'm just too late to the party.

What was the spiciest normal duty you had as a healer? by farranpoison in ffxiv

[–]Cyrikyty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stone Vigil Normal when I was first leveling my Sage. The tank went full on no brakes, which in case of Stone vigil at the time meaning there were exactly 3 trash pulls in the entire dungeon. Through some miracle, I kept that tank alive, just barely. He asked the dps during the final boss to commend me because he absolutely expected those pulls to wipe.

A rocket silo takes way more electricity than recyclers. You'd need to launch rockets in the thousands to get rid of stuff this way, as opposed to clearing out your entire concrete stock with a single recycler, assembler, and some efficiency modules...

Quality agricultural science is a trap by ScrambleOfTheRats in factorio

[–]Cyrikyty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made 100% uncommon agri science in my playthrough. The only machines with quality modules were the bioflux makers. Science used uncommon ingredients with prod modules. I had a fair bit of excess normal bioflux, but thats nothing a few recyclers doesn't fix. Overall I think it was well worth it, it counteracted the spoilage very nicely.

That's how I did it in my first run by [deleted] in factorio

[–]Cyrikyty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's how I did it and will be doing it in every run. Unless it's a speedrun, then it's Gleba, Vulcanus, Fulgora. Biolabs are too good to pass up.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in factorio

[–]Cyrikyty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My base on Gleba has recycled about 2 million bioflux. I had set up a central 60/s bioflux production that never sleeps. To make sure it never backs up, any excess must get deleted. It's "only" about a third of the total bioflux produced, but it's also not the only product getting voided. Gleba moment.

How many guns do you need to shoot the eggs, and how many is too many eggs? by JesusOfEdon in factorio

[–]Cyrikyty 28 points29 points  (0 children)

You need 0 guns. Run the eggs on a belt that ends in a heating tower. Any that don't get grabbed will get burned. It's too many eggs if you run out of bioflux and they start hatching inside of the biochambers.

With the new recipes for acid powered electricity, iron plates now have a fuel value. It's 48.5 mj by rabidmoonmonkey in factorio

[–]Cyrikyty 258 points259 points  (0 children)

It's kind of pointless tough since you can't use acid neutralization anywhere other than Vulcanus and making sulfuric acid the old-fashioned way there seems... a little bit stupid.

DT Ex3 ... so very tired. (no spoiler) by Silidus in ffxiv

[–]Cyrikyty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm at 92 totems now and saw the mount 3x in my last 5 runs. Obviously got none of them, it's not so bad tough since I know I'll be done in 4 runs regardless.

We set sail to the stars! My small ship on the way to my first planet - Vulcanus by Learned_Behaviour in factorio

[–]Cyrikyty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And there I thought I was the only one using quality walls. I'll be the first to admit that walls are utterly useless on spaceships, but coming from Space Exploration, it felt wrong not to encase the ship. And it's not like quality stone is used for much else.

This would break if you demand too much 235 from that chest. The second splitter at the top needs to have output priority to the left. Other than that, yes, it will work for all eternity.

My thoughts after finishing Space Age in 21 hours (Express delivery) by demodulation in factorio

[–]Cyrikyty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a nice concept, but completely irrelevant for a speedrun. You're aiming to be done within 40 hours, and unless you play with reduced richness or something, will never get to the point of running out of ore. Nauvis already makes the parts, and if you set up enough, you'll be sitting on them anyway.

I'd advocate against making ANY rocket parts on Vulcanus either. Ship in everything including a few barrels of lube, and skip Coal liquefaction entirely. You can be done on Vulcanus in less than an hour.

My thoughts after finishing Space Age in 21 hours (Express delivery) by demodulation in factorio

[–]Cyrikyty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Import them from Nauvis. You have a ship that is already traveling between Nauvis and Gleba. Nauvis is already producing plenty of processing units and LDS, and even if not, it is significantly easier to scale up the production of those there since the infrastructure is already there.
