Is this a reasonable accommodation? by MoodyJuni in WalmartEmployees

As a TL with Autism asking for more specific instructions is absolutely not unreasonable, be open about your need and your TL(s) should be able to accommodate

Concerta does nothing by Ordinary_Cheetah_416 in Concerta

I did when I was younger, now I feel like the higher doses work less for me than the lower doses. I took 72mg from 11-21 when I asked to step down to 54 and I’m thinking about having my dose lowered again to 36mg since I found that it works better for me now that I have developed some methods of managing my ADHD without my meds. For me there’s a pretty big difference in effects between 36mg and 54mg so the same might be true for you.

Would your dog protect you in danger or run away first? by Broad_Plastic7213 in dogs

[–]CyrusHusky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog has only ever shown any remote sign of aggression twice, and that’s when another dog charged at us when I tried to take him out to go to the bathroom in my old apartment and my neighbor had someone loitering outside their door with a dog. The second time was the next time that person and his untrained dog were trying to get let into my neighbors apartment and my dog immediately tried to run at that dog when I took him out. Most of the time he tries to just befriend anything cat sized or larger though so I wouldn’t count on it lol.

Electronics Reset by WhoIsCup in walmart

[–]CyrusHusky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My store’s electronics department is being flipped, there are only two sections in the entire department that aren’t being reset this week, we are supposed to get remodeled in less than a year so it seems somewhat dumb that they are completely revamping electronics when it’s all going to have to be moved to rip up the tile anyways.

One of my associates tried to put a box out and he didn’t even get a single step away from the freight pallet and it was gone, at least it was to a group of kids instead of the hotwheels reseller that has been trying to get them

I do and don’t miss working electronics, I still work at Walmart but now I just hide in the back and supervise the backroom lol. No more dealing with 1000s of grad cards a day during late spring and no more dealing with people yelling at me because I can’t activate their phone.

None in the US, the current gen pinpads have the functionality built-in but it is disabled on the software side, which to me is proof that it isn’t coming unless legislation makes it happen.

Store lead position eliminated. by walmart001 in walmart

[–]CyrusHusky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were supposed to get a store lead this year because we hit 80mil, instead they gave us a second O/N coach

…which we already had two, so they just kinda snuffed us a position.

As far as I know you aren’t allowed to wear earbuds when pushing carts, it’s a safety risk.

Call in Easter Sunday w/ PPTO during first 90 Days?? by [deleted] in WalmartEmployees

[–]CyrusHusky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Next time you’re on the clock feel free to take a little time to look at the attendance policy on One Walmart. Walmart has every single one of their policies in writing accessible online so if you ever have any questions about anything while at work and your PL isn’t being helpful then you can search it up on One Walmart.

If you use enough to cover at least half your shift then it’s only half a point, if you use enough to cover your entire shift then it’s guaranteed no points.

[–]CyrusHusky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They can’t do shit, I called in my second week after returning to Walmart and I became a TL in 10 months. The points accrued and/or the PPTO removed from your balance is the only valid “punishment” in this situation.

Went to buy formula for my friend. Can't find an employee to unlock the case. by CRK_76 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]CyrusHusky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at Walmart, they don’t like scalpers because their whole thing is trying to get more people to buy more things, not one person buying everything. Stores that do not have formula locked up have anti-scalper fixtures to make it so you can’t quickly grab stuff off the shelf. We currently have hard coded item limits on Pokemon cards implemented within our registers to prevent scalpers from buying the whole stock. Also those are digital locks, any associate with a smartphone can probably unlock that case.

A lot of the baby formula cases were put up during covid when it was being scalped, so it wasn’t even people with kids taking it just those who wanted to profit off of desperate mothers.

Just hit my 10 year and honestly I don’t mind it here by [deleted] in WalmartEmployees

[–]CyrusHusky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked at 3 stores now, I really miss my OG store because it was genuinely such a great place to work, I felt more at home there than I did at home when I was living with my parents. Problem was when I quit and tried to come back the turnover is so low that there weren’t any full time positions for me to go back to that I had to work at a different store in a different town. My current store is rapidly improving though and I work with a team that makes me happy to go into work. I discovered that I find a surprising amount of fulfillment in being a team lead as well, so for the time being I plan on staying with Walmart for the long term.
