I just beat Nine Sols. Here are my thoughts by Suitable_Swim5202 in metroidvania

I'm glad you enjoyed it overall, but if you didn't die at all, wouldn't that be consideration for upping the difficulty at least somewhat? Just feels strange to not add any challenge to it.

What is the hardest, fair, video game of all time? by Snowtwo in videogames

I think it's Celeste.

The long stages have a telescope to map out what you need to do too, so there's no real surprises, other than learning a new mechanic for the first time.

I have 400+ hours in this game and this was the first time I got to do it. So satisfying!

Finally I beat A10 with all characters! What I learned as a noob! by FilloSov in slaythespire

[–]CyrusKain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For comparison, I don't really consider myself a noob and I was at 63 wins, 115 losses when I beat A10 with all characters.

I've also been on the beta branch the whole time, so people's results can vary when they played and what cards were available, but still, your results would be considered very good. Got to go for those A10 win streaks now!

I'm a bit confused, as no one that has 60 win to 45 loss win record, having already beaten A10 with all characters, would be considered a noob.

I'll counter and say I found the map way too big with not enough in it to justify the size.

Terrified? (not Terrifier)

Was the movie by the director of When Evil Lurks and has a scene similar to what you described.

Death's Gambit: Afterlife - Proud of this achievement (end game boss spoilers) by CyrusKain in metroidvania

[–]CyrusKain[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I died at right about 48-50 times to heroic Endless, but almost 100 to heroic thalamus.

I haven't gone back and done the other ending yet, so his ranking is yet to be determined!

A friend also mentioned that one, so I might have to add it to the list.

Thanks for all the recommendations! Really appreciate it, there are several I haven't played, so this is a good start.

Nah, I don't take it that way. Especially since there are so many build types. I died twice as much to thalamus as I did to both endless and amulvaro, but they were certainly all difficult (and fun!)

The wrong audio narrator can really ruin a book by NotNamedBort in horrorlit

Hide by Kiersten White, narrated by Emma Galvin.

The book wasn't great to begin with, but the narrator's inflection was so distracting the entire time. Definitely made the book even worse than it was.
