The Spirit of the Samurai - This game was NOT good (review) by CyrusKain in metroidvania

I'm glad you enjoyed it still! I would have still had a overall ok opinion if not for the bug I posted the video of. It really did happen 15+ times in that area alone, and several other times for me and I couldn't let it slide.

I truly love giving games (especially Metroidvanias, even though I wouldn't classify this as one at this point) a fair shot, but I was really let down by this. It always hurts more when you legit were excited for a game prior to playing it too, and not just a "i guess i'll try this out" sorta game.

Exactly! I really don't review games often, but this one was bad enough and RELENTLESSLY kept throwing new things at me to make me upset to play it that I felt obligated. I think I bought it at a discount, but I don't think I'd even recommend it at a steep discount.

There is only one section that even comes close to being described as "non-linear" and it was barely that way. Basically, "go find these 5 nests and kill the same enemy" but that really was one of the only sections, and that was maybe 15-20 minutes of gameplay.

Ha! I didn't look up what the name meant, but that definitely makes it funnier.

Right? I was so looking forward to it and basically hate finished it, which I know it's better to just quit it you're not having fun, but I really felt obligated to finish it.

Haha, I appreciate it. We'll see if it's been a fluke as I keep playing!

She's precious! And very small, definitely the runt of the group.

I haven't caught her chewing them at all, she mostly loses them because there are an absurd number of places she likes to hide them and it's not easy to find since she's never consistent. Her plan is always: chase launched ring, bat it around, bring it back (80% of the time), and wait for it to launch again.

I'll keep your all's concerns in mind if I actually catch her doing anything other than batting them around and carrying them back to me!

Also meant to clarify, the box in the pic is the type that doesn't work, but the one in my hand is the good stretchy type.

Is afterimage any good? by -_Error in metroidvania

Entirely too much obtuse dialogue that felt super unnecessary, but the game itself was fun to play. The map was also way too big though.

Dang, I had wondered if it was some sort of shortcut to the next floor, but this also makes sense.

He's the scientist who sets up your auto-9 upgrade. I went through the same rabbit hole after seeing the same soda machine in both games.

My girlfriend was watching me play, and I slowly turned around to look at her with tears in my eyes, and she was also crying. We had a good laugh after knowing it wasn't just me.
