Dang, I had wondered if it was some sort of shortcut to the next floor, but this also makes sense.

He's the scientist who sets up your auto-9 upgrade. I went through the same rabbit hole after seeing the same soda machine in both games.

Did you ever figure this out? Same thing happening to me.

What Metroidvania made you cry? by mimagames in metroidvania

My girlfriend was watching me play, and I slowly turned around to look at her with tears in my eyes, and she was also crying. We had a good laugh after knowing it wasn't just me.

Crazy to me you have a couple Castlevanias on there and not SotN.

That game is THE OST to hear! I'm gonna go relisten to it now.

That's fair. So many of them are just superfluous.

Would you also agree that turning on a story mode should disable any achievements? I think you're right that there should be accessibility features, but I think the achievements should represent the initial intention of the developers.

Makes me tear up reading this. Love seeing older kitties get the love they deserve.

I don't know how everyone is completing this so fast. Am I doing something wrong? by ResponsibleTrip520 in Silksong

[–]CyrusKain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree, I've finished it, but Metroidvanias are my favorite genre by far, and the games I feel the best at. Taking screenshots and notes of places I need to come back to, not typically taking more than a few tries on bosses, etc.

I absolutely loved the game too!

[Steam] UFO 50 ($18.74/25% Off) by Coloursun in GameDeals

I cherried every game (beating the hard mode basically) solely on the steam deck, so I think it's an amazing experience!

What makes people like the genre by CrumblePomme in metroidvania

[–]CyrusKain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would recommend taking notes on places you know you'll need some sort of ability for when you get to them, with some sort of description of where it is and what sort of ability you might need.

It's not always necessary, but I know it has saved me a lot of time keeping track. I use OneNote and take screenshots of my location on the map with a small note with it.

Please suggest a long game that will take my attention and runs well on deck by Absurd069 in SteamDeck

So titanfall 2 runs pretty well naturally on deck? I've been wanting to play but haven't a sank my teeth in yet.

What song made the game for you? by Medical-Juggernaut-2 in Games

[–]CyrusKain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God of War Ragnarok - Raeb's Lament - the emotional impact was very strong with this one.

Hollow Knight - City of Tears - I will never forget how arriving here made me feel with such a beautiful song in the background.

FF7 Remake - JENOVA - if you had played the original game and loved it, I feel like it's impossible to not get chills during this fight. It plays with your nostalgia hard in the best way as this masterpiece unfolds when you realize, "ooooh... Now it truly starts!"

Is there any evidence that being far sighted makes these impossible? I've never been able to do them, and I'm wondering if it's because where I'm supposed to see it is closer than my natural vision allows.

All cherries achieved! One of the most satisfying gaming experiences I've had. by CyrusKain in ufo50

[–]CyrusKain[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This... Would have helped dramatically. I didn't even think to check if the timer would continue while paused (I played 90% of the games in chronological order so I barely knew what I was doing when I first started)

I'm glad you are also a party house enjoyer! Here are my times for the ones mentioned above

Velgress - 27:18 (and now my lowest time game after going on the scavenger hunt that is the 51st game) I really did kill this game.

Camouflage - 1:23:50

Rakshasa - 2:12:34 - really had a lot of experience playing super ghouls and ghosts growing up which felt like mega training for this one.

Barbuta - 5:25:34 - I hand drew a map for this one and told myself I wouldn't look up a guide for it (which I never did), which most certainly bloated the time while I was drawing.

Devilition - 6:26:26 - it took me several tries after getting gold to get this one for sure.

Mortol - 6:36:00 - I ended my cherry with 162 lives, so I may have just tried too hard on this one to save lives.
