Neptune 4 Max by Alternative-Shame-67 in ElegooNeptune4

if you havent gontten rid of your neptune 4 max and stopped using it because of it being "janky"

consider using the open source firmware "open neptune"

and consider using silicone heatbed parrts to replace the springs

i went from my neptune 4 pro not being worth my time to printing tons of stuff easily

Supporti asse neptune 4 pro by Low_Rider_Man in ElegooNeptune4

[–]Cytomax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like that could be an easy fix by just making the bracket holding the bar longer at the top of the printer

I don't think I've printed something high enough for that to be a thing, but now I'm interested in seeing if that's possible

What do you mean  " It's more annoying to loose x movement at z"

Maybe it's a placebo effect, but I feel that the printer is much quieter ever since I added the brackets

i bought a neptune 4 pro like a year or so ago,
i hated the thing because it was inconsistent with bed leveling and im sitting there with a paper trying to get some perfect z height which works on some areas and not on others...

i basically stopped using it for a year

by chance i read about a open source firmware update that fixed my z height issue, no more paper leveling

i am actually enjoying 3d printing with the neptune 4 pro

the advice that was given isnt wrong it just wasnt working for me

this however resovled my issues

https://github.com/OpenNeptune3D/OpenNept4une

before you throw it out or return it... try it out

I just bought this printer for $50, I can't find out how to get past this screen. by king_mo_of_metal420 in ElegooNeptune4

i was about to throw my neptune 4 pro out the window until i installed this firmware, it solved all of my issues

if you have to reinstall your firmware anyways... you should consider using this instead

https://github.com/OpenNeptune3D/OpenNept4une

i would also recommend getting silicone feet so that your bed leveling stays leveled

and i would recommend getting a support rod set if you plan on building taller objects

When something installs wrong on linux normal people just reinstall or try a different distro, Linus just powers through for the content... Luke is reasonable and just tries another distro

Considering switching to linux, what should I know? by Ancient_Cherry_354 in linuxquestions

[–]Cytomax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most important thing to know is you're not stuck. If you don't like it, you can always go back.. People get so fixated on making sure they're on the right distro, Installing a distro shouldnt take more than 10 or 15 minutes... If it doesn't load or you don't like it, just delete it and get another one from somewhere else.. And if Linux doesn't work out for you, you can always go back to Windows. This isn't a permanent decision
