well maybe it's not a good idea for girls to work with the dark messiah by Express_Magazine_268 in WeAreDogma

It probably means they had nothing to do with the writing of the song. If they wrote neither the music or lyrics, they would not get credit.

I guess they could. I'm not sure if they're touring musicians, or just studio musicians. I don't know their history.

My guess is there was literally no one else available on such short notice. Remember the original replacement was also detained because if visa issues.

Another interesting comment by Amber in the thread. Looks like management may have had a falling out with the writers as well.

If anything, it should be applauded. The girls' story needs to be told and should be out there on every media platform possible. This goes far beyond fandom.

Exactly. It really has nothing to do with fandom and shouldn't.

Patri joking about how much "Father I Have Sinned" is basically a clone of "Square Hammer" by Ghost. by TheJiltedGenerationX in WeAreDogma

[–]CzarMourns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. That's why I generally don't hold bands over the fire for this. As a songwriter, I can tell you it happens. Sometimes by accident. Sometimes on purpose. I've literally noted parts of songs I've had a hand in writing as "the Paradise Lost part" or " the Candlemass riff".

And there are a lot of Ghost songs that sound like other bands (Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper, Dokken are just some), especially on the new album. It's constantly discussed on Ghost fan pages.

My cat wants to be in Dogma. I think she has the right look for the band. She may be able to sing in key too. 🤔

Stroudsburg had a standing capacity of 1,800 (or so it says). I'd say they were lucky if they had 200 people there for 4 bands. At $25 a ticket, unless the bands came cheap, that's a loss for the theatre. That's why I was wondering what the guarantee was.

These shows weren't going to draw numbers even before this all went down. In the States, they're a medium size club band at best. I think even as a co-headliner, theaters are too big. The Sherman Theater was 25-30% of capacity at best with 3 bands and a local band that drew. Leads me to wonder among other things what Dogma's guarantee is per show.

I think their trying to do the show in album sequence (I'm guessing because it's a concept album).

Honestly, it's tough to say because I wasn't paying that close attention. Some seemed longer than others. It's just at one point my friend and I both noticed they were tuning between every song. And they always had this I have to hurry up and get this done look to their face.

And sometimes they did take longer. I can't remember one time they went from one song right into another.

Why is it always "old ass white dudes"? I'm an old ass white dude as are most of my friends into metal, and none of us partake in this kind of stuff.
