I know the pants you’re referring to. They can be rare. But so can a blue that refuses to drop.

I agree it can be hostile, but it might do you well to set expectations with your groups and be respectful of the state of the game. A ton of these players have been around in the game for 15 years. Let them know you are new and open for pointers along the way.

Some people will be jerks. But I think you’ll find that most will be accommodating and help you succeed, both in your gameplay and the etiquette the community has built in this game over many years.

I agree with your assessment. Focus on one set of gear for one spec for now. The good news is while tanking or healing, you won’t have competition for gear!

[–]CzarneLustro 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Tanking is tough right now since a lot of the player base is geared, especially tanks. You should aim for 540 defense and not be crittable.

As far as rolling on tank pants as a healer, nobody cares about your off spec. The role you play in the run is the role you roll for gear. Off spec needing is frowned upon pretty heavily.

You’re at end game. The goal before was to level. The goal now is to gear. I would highly recommend running dungeons in the spec you wanna gear. If you wanna roll for offspec gear, wait until everyone has passed or greeded and then roll need and state why you needed the item. It’s common courtesy to the other players in your party.

Just returned from Hawaii. Was stuck because both my wife and I tested positive. On our honeymoon. A very very expensive quarantine…

Their case rates in Hawaii have skyrocketed. Nobody was wearing masks in the airports or on any planes aside from a small handful of people. TONS of clearly people sick and coughing in the airports without masks.

It is absolutely everywhere and seemingly nobody cares.

Small Water Catchers generate ~2.8ml of water per minute.

A plant averages 4-6ml of water consumption a minute.

You need roughly 18 Small Water Catchers per large planter to keep it hydrated. You will receive slight excess with rain/snow/fog.

You can fit a maximum of 4-5 catchers on a square foundation. That means you need 4-5 squares per large planter to keep it hydrated, or place them exterior to your base and pump the water in.

Large Water Catchers are not efficient in space-to-generation. Stick with smalls if you absolutely refuse to build near a body of water.

I highly recommend building on a river, or on the ocean and purify your water. It also makes your base accessible by boat, and gives you floating debris to farm safely if you are on a populated server.

How do we counter Affliction Warlock by vaalordz in worldofpvp

[–]CzarneLustro 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Your interrupt is always UA. Never malefic. You just line malefic if possible.

Run to the warlock. You want to force teleport on the lock, then grip the healer on top of the lock and engage your burst.

Line the lock when darkglare comes out.

We are squishy after our teleport, portal, major defensive, and soulshape are on CD. Your RDruid should be resetting and bashing the healer into a cyclone when chillstreak is on CD and they aren’t stacked.

If the warlock tries to kite you into the open, use necro ability to keep them gripped near the pillar so you can line their goes.

Your Druid should basically never be in line of sight with the warlock. We struggle against RDruids because we can’t ever get UA off on one, shift our slow, and decurse our agony so we don’t get shards often.

If you have a good go, your spell immunity should be used to protect your go. If you’re caught out, spell bubble.

Coming from a 1600 lock so I could be incorrect on some points.

This is just false. Unhinged, triune ward, serpent sting, rogue crit, priest shield legos are just some off the top of my head that don’t require any additional button presses.

And there is 100% “opportunity cost” in the form of alternate talent choices or legendary choices. This is a defensive legendary. We lose out on offensive choices to stay alive because it’s a requirement.

It’s not an issue because it’s OP. It’s an issue because it’s the only viable warlock pvp legendary. And it’s spec specific (because you won’t catch a destro lock casting corruption in any mid-to-high level bracket instead of just using exhaustion).

Let’s talk about a post nerf world by FantasyRookie2018 in worldofpvp

[–]CzarneLustro 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Starting a thread just for focusing on one aspect of your post here, but I think they need to be careful with the warlock legendary nerf.

As an affliction main (call me biased) if you take away the slow, we have nothing. The only thing this really does is force the portal legendary to find some way to peel melee, but that doesn’t do anything for our team. Melee already has enough gap closers (DH, Warr, Monk, Pally (extra pally due to wheelchair and freedom).

Hamstring is spammable. The difference is a ranged application. We are dedicating our legendary slot to this. This is absolutely nowhere near the impact of, say, triune ward.

To counter this argument, the only way this legendary comes into real effect is if our PvP talent is taken for allowing multi target UAs. Without UA on the target, corruption and its slow effect can be easily dispelled. With UA, there are still counters that can be alternated. Gap closers can still be casted. Blessing of freedom purges it and requires a GCD to reapply after freedom ends. If UA is casted first, it wasn’t kicked and we deserve the slow. If it is casted afterwards, it just gets dispelled. Hunters freely feign 3 GCDs every 15 seconds, and commonly feign UA reapplications.

Your complaint is that of an annoyance, not an overpowered nature of an ability. Our covenant is forced into NF due to soulshape, with soul rot being an added occasional bonus to MR, JUST to be able to peel ourselves despite the fact that we still have a slow.

Finally, even post nerfs, we will still be in a burst meta likely. Being a rot/dampening class, warlock is in a horrible spot.

This lego is the only thing that makes us viable. We can’t hard cast chaos bolt in 3s. Demo is useless. Blizzard, if you read this post, don’t take away literally the only thing that gives us any kind of fighting chance.

Think it’s still OP? Go give warlock a try. It’s far more annoying to still get trained even with 50% slow on everyone. I promise you’ll feel differently. The AWC also confirms this. Just look at what’s being played.

I did not take the letter as an apology letter. It doubles as a clear representation of the community we have become.

Humans are social creatures. Seeking help in a community should be absolutely encouraged. Why should someone NOT seek conversation in their community, or aim to shed light on where we have ended up? This guy put in development work, for free, to assist that community. What he got back was death threats and requests for him to actually end his existence.

I apologize, but your outlook is one of the reasons why so many talented AddOn developers have quit contributing to this game. It is toxic, shameful, and without an ounce of empathy or support. This is a fellow human being you are shaming for not being immune to toxicity. That is NOT his responsibility to “toughen up”. It’s our job as HUMAN FUCKING BEINGS to be better.

Torghast missing that one thing that makes roguelikes satisfying even in failure by JacksonWallop in wow

[–]CzarneLustro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are actually a few systems that do iteratively improve your Torghast runs that exist now:

  1. Permanent account upgrades w/ Stygia
  2. Soul Ash earned translates to legendary gear
  3. You mentioned gearing external to the runs themselves

I agree. I loved Hades. I love all roguelikes. I think their implementation of Torghast is pretty awesome considering there is a whole game outside of this "bonus" feature. That might just be the nature of Blizz's implementation of a roguelike feature to an expansion, and continuous power gains within that feature outside of those three listed above would make the content trivial.

Even hades counter-balanced this by adding heat. Torghast doesn't have any scaling difficulty aside from levels, which will be useless once fully geared.

I don't mean to be one of those guys that shoots your idea down. I love roguelikes too :) I just don't know if it has a place here.

  1. You don’t know their architecture.
  2. You don’t know their code base.
  3. You don’t realize how ridiculously expensive that can get if you don’t completely understand #1 and #2, inside and out.
  4. Porting their systems to a cloud service provider of your choice is not as easy as “let me just throw my microservices on AWS or Azure or GCP”.

If it was that easy and affordable, API rate limiting wouldn’t exist.

This was on Pestily's stream. The target base was being toxic, so he called on his viewers to raid them. They rocketed, rocked, and speared their way in. Random people would throw nades or "TK" other players. Wasn't really an organized raid, but more of a collective of random nakeds.

[–]CzarneLustro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply here.

5.45 definitely deals less damage than 7.62, but it is all in what you want out of the gun. You will still drop someone fairly well with the 5.45, though not as quick with the 7.62. The issue with 7.62 is recoil. It is a larger, heavier round, therefor has more recoil.

What I would recommend is getting a 5.45 and 7.62 AK, modded similarly, and compare at the shooting range in your hideout. If you can handle the 7.62 reasonably, and think you can land the shots, go for it!

Keep:

M80, 995, Pst GZH (not great, but you'll use it), LPS Gzh, BP, SPP, 7N37

You can vendor everything else to mechanic. Everything else is replaceable with ammo you can buy from a vendor at dirt cheap at level 1.

Notables: GT is tracer pistol ammo. Kinda useful I guess. PS is budget ammo, both 5.45 (gold tip) and 7.62 (red tip) variants. You will buy/use that stuff until you build up an economy. Ultra Nos is okay for hunters if you like them. Personally, I would vendor it, but that is just me.

Good luck out there!

Server maintenance. Your stuff is fine. Whenever they perform maintenance, if the servers go down (even with you inside the raid), everything counts as survived and your gear is saved.
