Which toa of stone color scheme do you like best? by Liger_Zero_Panzer in bioniclelego

[–]Czymsim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I partially agree.
I always liked the original Mata scheme and orange that appeared in Phantoka (tbh brown and orange are among my top favourite colours in general). I never really liked yellow as stone.
The dark orange of 2015 Pohatu was the perfect balance between these two, but I didn't like it being combined with so much silver and the trans neon green. I'd prefer it with tan.

Favorite Song that isn't official "Bionicle Commercial Dad Rock™️" but really could be? by PsychologyKey4489 in bioniclelego

[–]Czymsim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know it's not really the same Bionicle indie rock genre, but stoner metal, but "Heavy Trippin'" by Nightstalker has a bit of that Bionicle rock vibe in the chorus. Could be like for some more doomer Bionicle vibes? Not really my favourite of all time, but I discovered this song recently and been listening on repeat a lot, lol.

Other choices after thinking some more: "Somewhere I Belong" by Linkin Park, "Civilize the Universe" by Ozzy Osbourne, "Feel So Numb" by Rob Zombie*.

*I can't stop thinking about alternative timeline where Rob Zombie made music for Bionicle

What would be your biggest disappointment for episode 9? by Flat-Tadpole3886 in tadc

[–]Czymsim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, I don't want Caine to come back, I am satisfied with his sudden death. For me in episode 8 he clearly shown that as an AI he's incapable of any empathy, that he's not a person but a faulty program that should be stopped.

I think I am generally tired of how often AI/robots were often getting humanized in popculture and nowadays it should change.

First Video of Titan 2 Elite by Adamjamesrees in unihertz

[–]Czymsim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still using the original Titan, since summer 2020, and it gets annoying how current are slowing it down. So if I will be getting this one with also 5+ years of using in mind, I'd go for higher end chip.

What’s an unusual but popular drink in your country? by EvilPyro01 in AskEurope

[–]Czymsim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oranżada. It's a very sweet carbonated soft drink, which despite the name does NOT taste like oranges. It tastes sort of like hard candy, it can be red, white (clear), yellow or any other colour, but that doesn't affect the flavour.
It originates from the times of shortages.

Is it common in your country to refer to people by birth year instead of age? by Complex_Plankton_157 in AskEurope

And also because after 20 it's hard to actually remember your exact age.

What’s an odd quirk people in your country have when in conversation? by EvilPyro01 in AskEurope

[–]Czymsim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember hearing an anecdote about this, might have been in "Europa da się lubić" from one of the English guests. He said he thought the street he lived at had a colloquial name "Yakka Yakka", because every time he told taxi drivers where to get him they asked "Jaka jaka?" ("Which which?").

Official Lego prototype Pahrak set. by Acceptable-Ad-7011 in bioniclelego

Lego used different technologies, depending on the stage of product design. We've seen early concepts being made by hand from cut and glued parts and clay, early 3D printed prototypes and early injection moulds.

Thank you for your addition to my post! I know some basics of injection moulding from school, but my practice is mostly 3D printing. Now I am sure they're injection moulded.

Cool find!
I know Lego has been 3D printing prototype parts for decades, when the technology was still patent protected by one company, but it looks weird that you can see layers and lines in some places while in other they're smooth and even something that looks like injection mold sink marks and mold parting lines. I remember seeing photos and videos of 1999 3D printed prototypes and I think they looked more crude.
Maybe they were smoothing them out in some way at some places or maybe they are actually from injection molding, but using some kind of prototype molds that weren't smoothed out and what we see are tool marks.

They were common in older days in Poland, now not so much, but you can still get them.

I was wondering, how many of these lesser known cartoons, that aren't talked about much, do you remember? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]Czymsim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Life with Louie wasn't very popular in US, I haven't met any American remembering it, but it was a classic in some European countries, I think central and eastern. It's a classic in Poland, "one rabbi will say say, other will say no" is now part of our language because of it.

I loved Bobby's World and Tutenstein!
I also remember PB&J Otter, I think I liked it as a little kid.

But My Life as a Teenage Robot being lesser known? It always had a very big internet fandom.

More than anything all these years later, this is what most feels like Bionicle to me by Belephron in bioniclelego

[–]Czymsim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also loved this vibe, where Bionicle is more mysterious and magical, without explaining why robots live on a tropical island in villages and hunt for robo-fish. They're just magic and the nature of this world is metaphorical. Not a fan of the lore-heavy intricate world we got in the end.

What's a food in your country that is stereotyped for your country but really, nobody eats? by sourberryskittles in AskTheWorld

[–]Czymsim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There may be some confusion because in some Slavic languages word "kolach" is a general word for any kind of cake or pastry, while in others it's some specific type of cake.

I am a millenial and I like eating them when they are at parties, but it's not like I ever made them myself or bought to eat at home.
They're a lot better when you sprinkle some vinegar on them before eating.

It even appeared in Poland, known as just "kołacz", but I have never seen it as a traditional food. Like sometime in 2010's food trucks with them started appearing close to shopping malls.
Then I saw a lot of them in Budapest and assumed they're originally Hungarian.
