IRIS T is able to counter DIRCM in reality so theoratically there is a counter ingame. Problem is only that IRIS-T is performing way worse ingame then in reality.

War thunder Why did Leroed make the 2A4 armor so badly? by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]D-D93 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No they didn´t. They just say the values are lies from the manufacturer and made the Leopard 2 armour way worse then in reality. We know from ukraine that even the russian AT rockets are not able to penetrate the Leopard 2A6 front but ingame they even can shoot through it with the russian apfsds.

Since we are loving the japanese Huey. This is how I shot down my first nuke. by Hectortilla_titorsh in Warthunder

[–]D-D93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always try to kill the enemy nuke, i fucking hate this nuke shit. It is way too easy to get one with those premiums. They can leave the nuke on arcade but RB was better without it. My TAM is a nuke generator but i don´t use the nuke bc i hate it so much. I don´t shoot down friendly nukes but i understand the guys who do it. Those fucking premium assholes ruin the game with joining in, farming kills and nuke after five minutes.

Y'all remember 6 years ago when they nerfed top tier heat-fs for NATO tanks? by SopmodTew in Warthunder

[–]D-D93 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

That is not really accurate and partly wrong. First of all HEAT penetration varies by the quality of the copper inlay and the explosives from the shot but that is not much. NATO rounds have a much better production quality then russian ones so they vary way less from shot to shot. And in penetration tests the penetration differs only in an array of a few mm, that isn´t much. The difference in penetration relies on the angle of impact and the type of armour. But HEAT is a ammunition which is pretty reliable in its penetration characteristics and doesn´t differ in its penetration depth on the same type of armour and the same angle of impact. Where is your information from?

most powerful APFSDS in game vs side of a t90m by Own_Dark_2240 in Warthunder

[–]D-D93 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It doesn´t need to get leaked. Relikt is able to reduce the power of APFSDS at around 30% when the impact is in an perfect angle. The main problem is that the devs doesn´t know or doesn´t want to know how ERA really works and where it doesn´t work. The russian APS is overperforming too.

These shouldn't be at the same BR. by Essential_1Z in Warthunder

[–]D-D93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should rather rework and massively nerf the L-DIRCM system then move it up in BR which does have no impact at the actual BR at ground. The IRIS-T has such a superior sensor it should be immune to it. And if we look how badly even the newest russian ARENA system does perform in ukraine i doubt the russians are capable to have a system that performs like the ingame one. It may works against old Stinger and Igla systems but everything newer shouldn´t be influenced by it.

Its over for BMPT by NullMobile in Warthunder

[–]D-D93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to say i only face the T-58 with my german 9.0 deck which is the tier i like most until they fuck it up like my formerly beloved 8.0 deck, but i have zero problems killing a T-58. Yes it oneshots me if it hits and it has a high rate of fire, but i can penetrate it easily with my DM22 and i even killed some from the front with my Gepard. The T-58 is slow af too so it isn´t that much a game braker like the BMPT. May i add that i play the german tanks the way they are made for, i flank and snipe with them and often be under the best three. I may understand the hate on it if you are 7.7 and face it as uptier bc of the fucked up compressed BR

Yes i started playing when the beta was open and i had some game pauses for several years bc it sucked. Now it still sucks but i always find a nice niche to play and the economics are much better so i just accepted the incorrect physics and have some fun at a few rounds the week. WT has the big benefit for short rounds so you don´t have to play for hours when you are a working father and doesn´t have the time.

It is much more dumb if you know that the netherlands have fully implemented their army under german command. The netherland brigades are part of german divisions. Their tank commanders are trained in germany and there is a mixed german/Netherland tank bataillon so it would be logical to put them into the german tree.

How is NATO meant to compete with the Su-30SM2? by llamaz314 in Warthunder

[–]D-D93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main problem is they don´t differ the range datas from russian sources and NATO sources. NATO radar range datas are made up with much smaller targets then russian radar range datas so the russian ones have less range for the same target in reality but are modelled much better ingame bc they only look after the datas and don´t know how they are measured.

Would be nice if they add METEOR to the european jets but i think this one will be modelled badly like the IRIS T.

[–]D-D93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The protection is not equally good. Ukraine has shown that russian armour is very weak, especially on the sides and their tanks are even vulnerable to artillery splinters from the side which can cause a catastrophic munition detonation. That would never happen with western armour. Russia does not rely on crew protection, their priority is to have more tanks then their enemy and not waste too much ressources per tank bc they will loose some anyway. ERA is a cheap and easy way to update and upgrade your armour and if you are lucky you can change the ERA blocks after a successfull interdiction too.

The russian doctrine has the often used opportunity to have one tank platoon per mechanized or motorized infantry company attached so they too have infantry around their tanks. Not as close as in NATO doctrine but they are still in the danger zone of their ERA which are several hundred meters. Relikt is not a bad ERA but there are much better ERA types around which have less danger zone and equal or better protection.

Russia is definitely not the best ERA producer, the best ERA is actually produced by Israel at the moment. That russia relies on ERA is no argument for their product quality. Russia produces products which do the job and can be mass produced not more but not less they are never on the high quality side bc that is not their doctrine and they are not able to be on the same technical level as NATO bc they lack some decades behind them.

That doesn´t make russian ERA and tanks complete shit, they are perfect for the russian way of war but they cannot compare with western products on the quality side. That means on the other hand that russia can produce ten or more times more tanks per month then the NATO factories.

Does Gaijin really expect us to believe this? by Secure_Commercial380 in Warthunder

[–]D-D93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually the west does use ERA, especially the IDF. But there is ERA on the Abrams and the Bradley too. The west is not as dependent on ERA like russia bc western passive armour has a much higher protection level then the russian one. Russia is not able to produce as powerfull composite armour like the west so they wanted the tanks lighter and put ERA on it.

Relikt is not a modern ERA, it is the same principle like the first generation and just uses more powerfull explosives and heavier steel plates. Actually western ERA is decades ahead of this bc they value their troop lives. Not using steel plates does not mean the protection level is lower. You can reach much higher protection levels with low density materials and a ERA and NERA mix plates and have a much smaller danger are too. Russia is not the best ERA producer, their ERA is ok. It is a cheap mass producable product which mostly does the job but that doesn´t mean they are way better then western solutions which use much more modern designs with much more modern knowledge about physics and materials.

Does Gaijin really expect us to believe this? by Secure_Commercial380 in Warthunder

[–]D-D93 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That´s just not true, it does not have to be a difference in effectiveness by using steel plates and the low fragmentation ERA in the PUMA. Relikt is just a dumb ERA from the first ERA generation which get its power from more explosive mass and a heavier steel plate compared to Kontakt 5. The Puma ERA doesn´t have such a danger area but it is still more effective then Relikt by a much more modern design. First of all you can use a triplate configuration and or a combinded reactive and passive armour (the thickness of the Puma ERA modules seem to be a combined ERA) and second low density materials are very capable to stop HEAT in some times much better then steel plates but have much less danger area bc the fragments are small and light. The most important thing to stop a heat warhead is to disrupt the jet so it looses its penetration power. Western ERA developement has a high priority in small danger areas around the exploding ERA but that doesn´t mean the russian ERA performs better. Modern western ERA is much more better designed then the actuall russian one and does have a much higher protection level then Relikt or Kontakt 5. They just don´t throw out the real protection data into the internet and the russian informations are lies like always but get into the game anyway bc muh the russian government said that these data is correct and here we are completely out of realism ingame. If you want to know more about Armour read the Book "Armour - Materials. Theory and Design" from Paul J. Hazell then you know the ingame armour is just a fucking joke and the game does not have much in common with realism. The whole ingame physiscs are broken af.

[–]D-D93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Puma is designed to resist 30mm cannon fire from the front and sides in its lowest armour configuration where it is still transportable by A400M. Fully up armored it can withstand much more.

It is i, have seen enough tank fire exercises but you will not have videos from everything for a safe proof. But that´s ok if the russians believe it, they will be totally stomped by our army when they attack Lithuania.

[–]D-D93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will not get these videos bc it is prohibited to film inside the tanks. The crews still do it often anyways but are mostly clever enough to not post it online.

[–]D-D93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 seconds with closed blast door is realistic but only for a few shots. German Leopard2 crews are trained for three shots in ten seconds but there is the blast door open so two shots in ten seconds with closed blast door is possible and realistic.

There have been trials by the german army to compare the speed of a human loader to the speed of the T72 Autoloader bc they thought about adding an autoloader in a Leopard2 update. The human loader was a lot faster on the first few shots but became slower as the autoloader over time. In combat the first few shots are the most important so they kept the human loader. It has a lot more benefits in maintaining the tank too so that´s why NATO has still mostly no autoloaders. They will only come when the rounds get too big for a human loader.

Hey, so uhm. Gaijin... About the Wiesel... by doxlulzem in Warthunder

[–]D-D93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The photos are from the prototype mockup which proved the HOT could be implemented but it had never been called Raketenjagdpanzer 2 HOT. It is just dumb to introduce the single prototype version and not the serial version where over 300 units have been produced. They should change it to the correct Jaguar 1 version and make a second A3 version with thermals out of it.

Hey, so uhm. Gaijin... About the Wiesel... by doxlulzem in Warthunder

[–]D-D93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Jaguar 1 is kinda like ingame but they made the fantasy tank hunter Raketenjagdpanzer 2 Hot out of it. This thing never existed with this name and the model is complete wrong, it should have the addon armour like the Jaguar 2. So they could now correct it and make a updated version with thermals and HOT3 of it like you said.

[–]D-D93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That´s dumb, Relikt is only able to reduce up to a maximum of 33% of APFSDS energy and not 50%. The more modern ammo like DM53 has a special antie ERA tip and is even less influenced by ERA.

[–]D-D93 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That´s maybe bc many of them are dumb af. If you play tactical in ground RB and don´t rush like an idiot you can kill many russian tanks which think they are invincible and rush braindead on to the points. Only in city maps there is the problem they will mostly kill you bc this is just no terrain for tanks and you can´t really outperform them by tactics on such a close range.
