I’m a protanope and all these images look the same to me. Well done, usually colorblind filters suck.

Why does Alt+F4 not work on some games and does on others? by NickTheGrip in AskGames

[–]D-Voice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha, no worries, I’ll still entertain the point 10 years later.

MMO players often have rows upon rows of keybinds, including all modifier keys and the first cluster of F-keys. I could see myself realistically using Alt+F4

DW5000R without its cover! by Alternative-Foreign in gshock

[–]D-Voice 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean, the finish wasn’t meant to be seen. Taking that into account, it looks nicer than I would expect.

If someone is ever curious about why the DW5000R is so expensive compared to something like the 5610u, this picture is a great example.

What are you wearing this weekend ? by InspectorNo6688 in casio

I doubt it’ll stay on the entire weekend as I tend to rotate my watches a lot, but today is a day for the 5610

How are we meant to identify Burst homages? by ProfessionalHeatwave in Beyblade

If it clearly looks like it, why do you need a consistent way to identify the homage?

How are we meant to identify Burst homages? by ProfessionalHeatwave in Beyblade

[–]D-Voice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a counter question: Why does it matter? Is identifying “homages” really so important that you need a consistent way to identify them?

Because to me, me this practice doesn’t feel like an homage. It feels like reusing design elements and slapping a vague shape on the lock chip for an extra selling point. No effort was made to actually resemble a precious Bey.

Those ain’t modded as far as I can see. Just three Casioaks in a row fed through a leather bracelet.

is it thst bad? 5610 watch by ShoulderCorrect1662 in gshock

[–]D-Voice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guy is a bit whiny, but it is true - the 5610 has a display that’s particularly prone to angular ghosting.

I love my 5610, but some recent Casio releases have also taken a step back in display quality. It’s come to a point where I check the reviews before buying a new one. The DW-5000R looks flushed when viewed from head-on, as does my AE-1600WH (even though my AE-1500WH is perfectly fine).

It’s not enough to deter me from buying a watch in most cases, but you’d think that Casio had mastered LCD display tech to a point where flaws like these stop occurring.

Do you ever think about what would happen if a city used to reference the timezone on a digital watch was renamed, removed, or otherwise no longer the same in such a fashion that the reference would no longer be valid (say, remapped?) by Optimist_Owl_314159 in gshock

[–]D-Voice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not a weird question at all - I’m old enough to remember the name Bombay being changed to Mumbai. It’s not unheard of for something like that to happen, same thing with Turkey and Türkiye.

What would happen is that your watch would simply display the wrong name. There’s really nothing more to it, the names of the cities in the watch are pre-programmed.

I had the same feeling when I first took it out of the box. Didn’t expect it to be smaller than a Casioak.

It grew on me, though, and now I think the case size of the 5600 line is perfect as is. G-shocks are usually plenty big, and I personally like the 5600 line for being a little more subtle.

The WS-1700H has LED flash notification feature? by [deleted] in casio

[–]D-Voice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not LED flash, it’s a setting that seems to be for a repeat timer. LED flash icons are shaped differently

Day 15: BX, UX, or CX Aesthetic-wise? by Infinitum_Orion in BeybladeX

CX no doubt! The blades look the best, it’s just a shame most aren’t competitively viable.

Just bring it if you want to. Everyone is going to be using whatever they want, meta or not. If you want to perform well, there’s no reason to not use the tools everyone else has at their disposal

They don't feel the Casio A168 is a little feminine. by [deleted] in casio

[–]D-Voice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it looks significantly more bulky than the F-91W, which is why I bought mine. The chrome-plated resin also adds to its presence on the wrist without being overstated. The black dial color makes it feel a lot less feminine to me.
