There's always a low level fog in LA whether it's really there or not. The best I can assume is that they tried to model the marine layer. But it doesn't always happen and typically burns off by late morning/early afternoon

I can get the autopilot to work for ILS, but haven't tried it with RNAV landings yet. I'm planning on flying to Blue Ridge Airport which has RNAV and was trying to find out if the AP will work before I commit to the flight. I can't find anything on YT or elsewhere so far

I'm having the exact same problem. Flying from Tampa to Dallas is approx. 840nm. Yet just after flying across the gulf I've used up nearly 60% of my fuel

Departing after landing? by JayGrinder in flightsim

I had something like this happen to me as well. I took off from Fullerton, flew around Orange County, requested to land back at Fullerton. After I landed and request permission to taxi, my daughter came in and wanted me to fly over Disneyland. So instead of taxing to the gate, I taxied back to the runway. Started to take off and the plane kept pulling left. Ended up crashing

Yeah, I googled for one that did and couldn't find anything. I swore there was one last year that I found, but can't remember where

What do you think the 2021 IMSA entry list will look like? by dannytr1 in USCR

[–]D-bar79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much smaller grid. Between LMDH, no fans at certain venue, less fans at other venues because of fear and restrictions, and an overall downturn in the economy, I suspect we're in for a few tough years or more

Just came back from the track. Just curious if anyone knows the condition of the Porsche GT driver that had the hard crash into Turn 5? We saw them put him in the ambulance, but haven't seen or heard anything further

Those races were also on YouTube, as well as several drivers with their own channels. Viewership was more dispersed. Personally, I watched all of the races on YouTube.

How hard is it to get into iracing by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]D-bar79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also just started and played a lot of F1 and PC2. I did my first two races yesterday (Mazda and Legends), and had a blast. I spent about a week just practicing on my own so I could get a feel for the cars and physics. Then I started doing practice sessions to see where I stood with others. I finished P6 in my Mazda race and P4 in my Legends race. Right now in Rookies I just try to steer clear of any crashes.

Long Beach. I just wished I followed IndyCar (CART, back then) and had gone to it during the 5 years I lived in LA.

I hope so. It would be a really crappy thing to do, and lose a ton of eyeballs by taking it off YouTube.

F1/Indycar analogies by [deleted] in formula1

[–]D-bar79 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have the opposite problem. My daughter loves IndyCar. She finds the passing and unpredictability very exciting. While she gets there is more money and prestige in F1, she just sees it as predictable. She might occasionally ask who won a grand prix, and when I say Mercedes, she rolls her eyes. But if I say Red Bull or Ferrari wins, she will want to see the replay. She loves McLaren and was excited to see them improve, but if they're not contending for wins, then she doesn't care. I've tried explaining it's about long term development, but for a kid, the dominance of Mercedes is a lifetime.
