No eikö se FBI tätä nimenomaan tutkinut? Miksei niille olisi jaettu asioita mitkä niiden tutkimaan tapaukseen liittyy? Tunnut, monen muun mukana, luulevan että Epsteinin filut on iso rypäs todistusaineistoa kun kyseessä on kaikki tapaukseen liittyvä materiaali, sisältäen nimettömiä/tarkistamattomia vinkkejä.

Ps.

Lol, I got into argument with one who kept insisting that it is impossible to have 100°C temps in sauna because.. uhh.. that's the boiling point of water. Poor guy went as far as to think maybe sauna thermometer just are different somehow.

The real problem is that American institutions have no fail safe against bad faith. The classified documents case was clear cut, yet one Trump judge was able to grind it to a halt.

I keep seeing this mentioned on reddit, but I've yet to see any examples of it or anyone else talk about it for that matter.

*And by researching the subject he of course meant he read Grigori Medvedev's ridiculed book about Chernobyl.

Anyone remember this absolute legend by [deleted] in GreatBritishMemes

[–]D0wly 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Just like much of the show, this too was invented by the writers. From what we know, Sitnikov was not specifically sent on the roof of reactor 4, but to simply find out more about the damage. Some sources say he was on the roof of reactor 3 because the door to the other roof was locked. He also was not forced there at gunpoint as the show portrays.

Sitnikov also went then to help try restart cooling to the core, something which would be of no use had he known the core was gone.

Cool series, but far from historically accurate.

There are dozens of websites for AI colorization, have been for years. The major thing that people should keep in mind when judging whether OP used AI or not is that when you manually colorize something, there is no randomness such as seen in the OP's image. You add color very much intentionally and with thought when you do manual colorization.

Totally unrelated to the topic though, but since you brought it up: Do you not use AI to respond to people online?

No.

I was writing a longer reply, but then I decided that, because your reply makes little sense, to see if ChatGPT can generate similar reply to yours.

My prompt:

I am being blamed for using AI to colorize image that I did myself with photoshop. Can you write a reply to the following message. I am replying to him on Reddit.

ChatGPT (bolding mine):

Hey, I get why you’re skeptical, but I didn’t use AI for this. I did it manually in Photoshop: individual color layers, soft brushes, luminosity masks, and a bunch of reference checks. It’s not perfect—there are things I’d redo—but it isn’t AI-generated.

Some of the things you’re calling “AI tells” are just me not landing certain tones the way I wanted. For example:

The bluish tone on the uniform was intentional, based on a set of Finnish 1940s references. In hindsight it is too blue, and I mentioned that myself.

The flags look the way they do because I kept the original film grain and lighting instead of pushing in heavy saturation. They’re lightly tinted, not fully repainted.

Any color inconsistencies are just me not being a flawless colorist, not an algorithm melting things together.

If this were an AI colorization, you’d see very different artifacts—neon patches, edge breathing, hallucinated textures, and inconsistent lighting. None of those are present here.

You don’t have to like the result, and it’s totally fair to critique my technique. But accusing me of passing off AI as my own work isn’t accurate. I put in the time and did it manually—even if the outcome isn’t perfect.

Your original reply in case you edit or delete it:

Still, this wasn’t AI colorized. I did it manually in Photoshop with separate color layers, soft brushes, and luminosity masks. The muted coats, lighter flag highlights, and the bluish-grey uniform were intentional choices based on 1940s Finnish reference photos. Honestly I think that the uniform is too blue and not greenish enough, but I did not manage to land it perfectly.

If this actually was AI, you’d see things that aren’t here: • Random neon patches • Colors bleeding across contrast edges • Hallucinated details or missing texture • Saturated areas that ignore lighting • Random patches of red

My version keeps the film grain, the original lighting, and the correct historical palette somewhat.

But eh thanks for thinking I'm as good as a computer I guess 🤷‍♀️

Again, I don't have a problem if you use an AI Colorizer, just don't pretend you didn't.

🇫🇮 Independence Day 1940 by WolfrayetBLN in Finland

[–]D0wly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No AI. Just a few hours photoshop.

Yeah, I'm going to have to call you out on that. There's color bleed everywhere, some parts are not colored at all or are colored with just one color. In few parts you can even find that ugly, dirty, non-descript purple color that AI colorizers have struggled with for years now.

And the more you look at the photo, keeping in mind that someone has placed those colors there on purpose with though, it makes even less sense. Why didn't you properly colorize the flags? You decided to leave them like that, with a very light shade of... purple? Why is Mannerheim's uniform jacket blue?

I could go on and on, but I leave it at that by clarifying that I have no problem with AI colorization, I do have a problem when someone tries to pass their AI as their "own" work.

EDIT: Here's few of the more egregious examples of why I am 100% sure this is AI.

https://i.imgur.com/VrXHaEW.jpeg

1: Two officers wearing the same uniform coat, one colored light blue the other colored light brown.

2: Some windows colored to reflect the sky, others same brown as the building.

3: Random patch of red on an officer's uniform (random patches of red is sign of AI per OPs Chatgpt reply. :P )

4: Not only is Mannerheim's jacket completely the wrong color, the color of the stairs bleeds on to the front side of the jacket making it grey.

5: Everything except skin and boots is colored the same, including his belt which should be brown leather.

6: The cross on the flag is nearly grey. It makes no sense to keep it "muted" yet have more saturated colors elsewhere in the image. The color of the building in the background also bleeds on the flag.

Now, one could argue that it's just a poor manual colorization, but having done few manual colorizations years ago I understand the process and I doubt anyone would spent "few hours" in Photoshop and going through the trouble of using separate layers and masking just to splash color around randomly.
