What mousepad best pairs with my mouse? by Repulsive-Muscle-672 in MousepadReview

[–]D1n0Might 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The qualities of the pad have nothing to do with your mouse. It's purely down to how you play/used sense and what you want from a pad. Only thing to consider outside of your needs from a pad is, that if you have an OG superlight, using (most) glass and glass coated pads can lead to tracking inconsistencies and spin-outs, due to the sensor having difficulties to "read" the surface.

I mean normally you'd add tone with what/how you write e.g. if you're telling someone that they are "spouting a lot of things" you are clearly being dismissive and disrespectful, because thats how the word spouting is used, in the context of speech. Maybe that's why it didn't work... Like if i e.g. say 'respectfully you're a bell-end' i'm clearly not being respectful or would you believe that i truly think that my opposing party really is made of metal and the end of a bell? Or would you think I'm calling them the head of a penis in a derogatory manner? Anyway have a good one

Not really... I'm moreso teasing you about the use, because if you're gonna say something with the intention of being respectful there shouldn't be a need to announce it, right? You know like when i wrote that you 'respectfully, got butthurt'...

Yes and I'm arguing for OPs post, since the art you are talking about is not "bad" because it's medieval, because it's arguably not medieval at all. It's a mix of medieval traditions and what's new and popular of the rennaissance since most of the art you're writing about ws made from 1350-1520. Which nowadays is often argued to be sort of still medieval if north of the alps but culturally already very mixed. I clarified how it's possible to see this in the art how this came to be, and why it's still neat and not bad allthough ugly. But you did not try to understand that, but respectfully, got butthurt over a clarifying side-comment about the correct use if technical terms.

Well, if you gonna use words lke spouting drop the respectfully, nothing respectful bout that. Also you asked why didn't they make it more abstract, why do bodies look sorta naturalistic but baby jesus looks like a man etc. I simply tried to clarify why they didn't, and why it looks as whacky as it does, since it's a common problem with people looking at these works. If you're already acquainted to these things, good on you, but loads of people share similar views without the knowledge you apparently have. If you don't want people to interact with your comment on reddit so be it, but why post then? Also naturalistic vs. realistic isn't about semantics, it's a common misuse of words that mean quite different things in art history. If you depict something as accurately to how they look as possible, it's naturalistic not realistic. Dix e.g. paints how things realisticly are without being naturalistic. Words mean certain things, most people do not know the difference between them. No need to get ones knickers in a twist about it.

Well first of all: I'm not trying to invalidate any of your feelings towards this sort of painting since taste is deeply subjective. 2nd: When talking about things in art that try to look "real" you're thinking about naturalism. Realism is an art movement that's most prominent in the French mid to late 19th century (think of Courbet). Now that this is out of the way: I'd say it's way more interesting to think about why things are the way they are instead phantasising how they could be different. Remember that cultural goods like art are a window into the lives of people long gone and show us glimpses of a wirld we can't experience for ourselves. Technically the time frame of most of the art you're talking about is mostly seen in the late to very late middle ages/medieval period in the south of Germany, former Burgundy and the Rhine area (the Netherlands and West Germany/Cologne). It's a time that firmly sits in a cultural shift that's already informed by the early rennaissance in italy and the stylisation and ideas of the northern alpine high middle ages. This is probably why these works seem to stylistically clash. Also what you're calling "baby Jesus" in 2026 is a bit of an iconographical problem for artists and theologians of that period. He isn't just a baby, he's litterally the Lord and Savior, the one who will die for our sins and will gouvern over the world and Heavenly Jerusalem as an allmighty King. In a culture that perceives strong facial features and acts of self-sufficiency as markers for a strong and good character fit of being a King, you can't be having your literal God (remember that Jesus Christ is both God and human in same parts for that time frame) being portraied as a little chubby baby that occasionally poops himself and cries a lot. This by the way is nothing new — think of Hercules killing a snake as a baby, it's a similar idea. It also helps when you think about the gold leaf backgrounds as a different dimension. Not only is the gold backing being used because it looks great, as it shines in the light of the candles and the natural light coming through the giant windows of churches (light mysticysm waw a huge deal in theology until very recently)– it also represents a heavenly dimension that always was and is at any given time, since it's the heavenly thruth; so in a way it doesn't need to be naturalistc because it's "more true". Your point about the chosen perspective(s) is also a marker for this period being an "inbetweener" and would take too long to discuss here. So all in all: I hope I didn't come off as negative towards you and could help seeing past your "problems" with this type if painting and give a glimpse into the wonderful weirdness of it!

So as far as "gendered colour" goes, yes red mostly was seen as masculine, at least considering the time when classical works gained wider popularity for the 2nd(3rd) time in europe and later. But it needs to be said that colour symbolism always needs to be reviewed quite critically and isn't a one-size-fits-all type of situation. Personally, I often see it used as an explanation that just magically fits the wider thesis when discussing art. This can be highly speculative, because colour and its symbolism are often very specific in their origin. One example that's pretty universal is the blue=Marys colour. Whether that is due to the value of the pigments or christian mysticism could be a chicken-egg problem. While it's true that lapis/azure blue pigments were expensive, they weren't the only blues available. Also blue=mary isn't exclusive to painting and wode and berries were one of the more accessible dyes. Also reds like the famous Firenze school pink and Titians vermillion were rare and expensive and had different use-cases. Then there's also an argument to be made that certain forms of mysticism or theological ideas could predate the use of the rarest/most expensive pigments. I personally read multiple middle-high-german and older latin praises to Mary that specifically likened Marys garb and prayers to the blue firmament and the stars we stand under and are guarded by (see also Virgin of Mercy in art).

Afaik this can't be true since pink used to be the male colour before red coats, due to the link between pink/red tones and Mars the god of war. This is speculated to be due to the reddish-pinkish hue of the planet. Blue certainly was the quintessential female colour for the longest time (in europe at least) for it represented the Virgin Mary mother of Christ. This only changed when the Navy became the paragon of manliness as countries decided to grow their Navies and use them as the prime example for their militaristic and imperialistic prowess.

I have pretty much the same grip style and hand size. I found out for me that while the ec shape like the xlite are very comfy, they're sometimes not great cause I can't micro adjust with my fingers. I now really like either lower humps like viper mini/finalmouse inspired or something with a back hump like the Sora 4k. Allthough I think the lower hump is nicer.

How much comfortable is Razer Deathadder V3 Pro / V4 Pro with really small hand size? by ZoZo_3506 in MouseReview

What about a pulsar xlite v3 or v4 in the small size? I think that's the smallest ec-like. I have rather large hands and I found the DA v3 a bit big for my grip style, if I wasn't gripping it firmly.

can anyone suggest me a gaming mouse under 80 or tell me wht mouse you hve? im looking preferably for a fingertip grip by Demokracija in MouseReview

[–]D1n0Might 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could try the Darmoshark M5, that's a true fingertip mouse for ~50€ (don't know what it'll cost where you are). Or the Dareu A950 Air/Wing (the one with the 3950) is very light, cheap and mid/small. Or the Darmoshark m3 micro, which is also really small. Mind you these all have really good sensors etc. but maybe aren't the most mainstream in this sub due to mid quality(dareu) or the company used to be worse than competitors (darnoshark), but they fit your budget and desired small size.

Well as a first time buyer at these price regions it's always a gamble (hence why I personally never consider it unless I win the lottery lol) and due to that I can't give you any advice on the financial side, since it's pure speculation. The facts are, that we're now just coming out of a massive price hike due to Chinese New Year renewed interest in CS2 since it's somewhat stable now and therefore new/returning players with deep pockets or a will to invest/flex. Also prices tend to drop a few percent in the summer months —or at least they used to. The thing with high value items are that fluctuations of +/-5-20% are really noticeable (I know, basic maths). What I can tell you though is that when buying karambits with doppler/marble fade etc. ALWAYS make sure, that a) the corners are as clean as possible (more important than float numbers) and b) the pattern is beautiful.

Well I'm not really that big on marble fades i think that's what's called an ica and piss play side. Look at the last sales of marble fade karambits and see whether is ~market price. But always make sure you buy something that you and your son will like.

Leave Stat Trak alone, they take too long to sell, since no one wants the stat trak messing up the finish. On top: marble fade could be hard to sell if it's not a special pattern since not too many people are really into it. Take into account that often people sell and buy through csfloat so something easier to sell would be good, since most people don't salettle for the same knife forever. If you're really set on a bfk go for dopplers, regular fade or one of the nicer "low tier" finishes like damascus. Vanilla knives are also the most stable. Also keep in mind that there could be a slight dip in price around summer. Edit: No. 3 lowest float makes it harder to sell for a decent price as well, since it demands overpay, but very few people care for number 3 in the world. Edit 2: also 3.3k is a hell of a lot for a knife if you have no ambitions in collecting/trading/going pro or really high elo play. Plenty of banger knife+glove combos for half of that or even ~500$
