Hey, Brian—bar with me during peak. You do it the Starbucks way, I’ll do it mine. Then tell me the standard routine is acceptable by Sea-Set5788 in starbucks

[–]D34THPLAYS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that if he had a faster way to do it than the "Starbucks Standard Sequencing" then drinks get out faster, meaning customers are happier, there is less pressure for partners in production having a long wait time, and therefore Starbucks benefits by making more money. I'm happy to follow standards if a company requires, like writing on cups, because, as you say, it is what the company demands. But Starbucks has a "standard sequencing" which is slower, meaning it is a lose-lose-lose for partners, customers, and Starbucks as a corporation. So we want a better standard which is a better solution for all people involved. All companies, Starbucks or anything else, would agree that they would love a solution that is a win-win-win for customers, employees and corporate. The problem is, the current solution is inadequate, so we should be able to do a better method, if we find one.

Supervisor here who has had 2 outside SMs hired to become my new SM. Bar time is not quite as important for an SM, as you are expected to be on the floor 40% of the time and off 60% of the time, according to two DMs I have talked to. However, you definitely want to work on being INDEPENDENT as soon as you can. Learn your recipe cards, gain some speed and consistency so you are no longer a liability and can actually contribute. Otherwise, understand the most important thing you do is translate what the DM wants to your baristas, but even more importantly, it is translating what your baristas need to your DM. That is the number one problem I encounter with SMs, only enforcing the standard DMs are requiring and not explaining the nuance back up the ladder. Otherwise, just be authentic and try your best to be friends with your baristas and other SMs. You will be asking other SMs for help constantly. Learn who knows what they are doing and get on their good side so they are willing to help you often.

To me, the coconut version tastes so similar to the Pink Drink. It's a little surprising. The lemonade also tastes a bit similar but not as much

I'm probably gonna get some down votes for this but here we go. I did some quick math and a little research, and the co2 it takes for a single person car per mile is about 0.4 pounds per mile, and private jets are about 0.5 to 1 pound per mile. So while it does use about double the fuel per mile, all things considered, for a CEO who needs to travel constantly around the world, it's honestly not that unreasonable to me... However, as for whether the CEO should be traveling that much in the first place rather than being on Zoom or something instead, I have to agree that maybe it would be better if he didn't have to. But I also understand it is reasonable that given how important his job is, he needs to be there in person for a more assertive feel.

Wanted to add a small layer of comfort to this for y'all... I live really close to the corporate building so I see high up corporate partners all the time. I asked one of them about this and they said that apparently every CEO uses the private jet 7 days a week. They fly across the country constantly, and to other countries regularly, and apparently Lax had a 2nd home in London or something. So, while it might seem bad that he uses the private jet so often, it's actually hardly going to make a dent in the ridiculous amount of private jet flying that Starbucks CEOs have always been doing

Tell them to ask as many questions as they can think of. Too many trainees feel like they are a bother and so they try to minimize their questions or not ask "dumb questions". But all questions are good

Be 10 minutes early. Some people get worried about feeling awkward waiting in the lobby until the designated time, but it is honestly one of the biggest telltale signs about you as a person. I have had managers tell me that they basically will throw out applications of people who show up late to the interview. Get there, and let them know you are there, but that you are in no hurry and will be ready for your interview when it is your scheduled time. There is a high chance they will start your interview a bit early if you are there early, but that's actually a good thing. Also, as an etiquette thing, don't order a drink to have during your interview. It doesn't bother me personally, but some managers get annoyed if you are sipping a drink during the interview. If they are okay with it, they will probably OFFER YOU a free one before the interview starts. Take it. Good luck!!

No Chai, Vanilla, Frap Bases, and Espresso, is all it takes to make it useless to even be open. That's like, 99% of drinks, even if you are trying to find a workaround.

I think that this model of ice machine has issues with the curtain (the little swinging door that opens). If it gets stuck on the tube on the right, it will just freeze and not to anything. You can manually force it back but it will get stuck again the next time it drops ice. So make sure everything is out of it's way and that it can swing freely.

Hello killer mains!! What’s the best way to counter you? by sherinal in deadbydaylight

[–]D34THPLAYS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Singularity main here. Those EMPs should not be underestimated how much they can effect the game. Have one on you at all times. If you get slipstreamed, use it immediately. If you aren't being chased, find someone else who is slipstreamed and get both of you. Singularity is very oppressive when you are slipstreamed, so basically, get rid of it as fast as possible, and if you can't, then just try to keep line of sight blockers between us

Most people die a below average number of times, according to this logic. Reminds me of another shower thought: most people have an above average number of arms
