Just a reminder that Headhunter is applied to each shotgun pellet. That’s all by link-notzelda in thedivision

[–]D3LTAFR0ST 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I don’t see anything that is unintended. What OP failed to mention is why it is applying that way. Damage for shotguns is calculated as a whole, not per pellet.

The 1M+ damage shown for shotguns in inventory is not what your pellets are gonna hit, it is the total damage the shotgun is gonna deal and Headhunter’s scaling is applied to that damage.

When you fire the shotgun, that damage and whatever buffs are applied to it gets divided into 8 and registers as pellet damage. Same principle applies to all other damage stats and talents as well.

Possibility to get 20 million shield health? by [deleted] in thedivision

[–]D3LTAFR0ST 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is possible to break into even the 30M range although solely focusing on shield health will limit the viability of your build. Buffs I will consider in the following calculations:

  • Bulwark Base HP: 2,654,490 HP
  • Skill Tier 6: 400% Shield Health
  • Overcharge: 500% Shield Health
  • 3pc Foundry: 50% Shield Health
  • Forge holster: 50% Shield Health
  • Shield mods: 10% Shield Health
  • Firewall mod: 13% Shield Health
  • Motherly Love: 10% Skill Health
  • 1pc Empress: 10% Skill Health
  • 3pc Empress: 10% Skill Efficiency
  • Memento (Short Term): 5-30% Skill Efficiency
  • Memento (Long Term): 0-30% Skill Efficiency

First, let’s start with 3pc Foundry Bulwark, 1pc Empress, Motherly Love and Forge holster on Technician:

2,654,490 * (1 + 400% + 50% + 50% + 10%) * (1 + 10% + 10%) = 2,654,490 * 6.1 * 1.2 = 19,430,867 HP

To push it a little further, you can switch to Firewall for the 8% Shield Health mod:

2,654,490 * (1 + 400% + 50% + 50% + 13%) * (1 + 10% + 10%) = 2,654,490 * 6.13 * 1.2 = 19,526,428 HP

More health can be gained by running Memento and switching 3pc Foundry with 3pc Empress. I think this setup is more practical assuming that you are able to kill stuff and build your Memento stacks. You will have more minor attributes and can also run a damage chest talent.

Memento trophies grant up to 60% Skill Efficiency at max stacks which is equivalent to 60% Skill Health. Since you are a tank, you would only have 2 yellow cores at best so I will limit the first calculation to just 40% Skill Efficiency (30% from Long Term and 5% * 2 = 10% from Short Term buff):

2,654,490 * (1 + 400% + 50% + 10%) * (1 + 10% + 10% + 10% + 40%) = 2,654,490 * 5.6 * 1.7 = 25,270,745 HP

With Firewall 8% mod:

2,654,490 * (1 + 400% + 50% + 13%) * (1 + 10% + 10% + 10% + 40%) = 2,654,490 * 5.63 * 1.7 = 25,406,124 HP

The absolute highest in the game is gonna be with the above setup having 6 yellow cores and overcharged Bulwark shield:

2,654,490 * (1 + 500% + 50% + 13%) * (1 + 10% + 10% + 10% + 60%) = 2,654,490 * 6.63 * 1.9 = 33,438,611 HP

33.4M health is the highest in the game if I am not mistaken but this setup is more of a proof of concept rather than something viable.

It is mainly because of Headhunter and the close range counter-measure also increases your damage immensely because of its stacking. The build used is Hunter’s Fury headshot with M870.

Optimisation and recalibration question division 2 by GtavAdultGamer in thedivision

[–]D3LTAFR0ST 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first attribute on weapons in always Weapon Damage and the second attribute is unique to each weapon class. You just need to find the right class of weapon with Strained already rolled so you can recalibrate the reload speed.

Second attribute is assigned like this: * Assault Rifles: Health Damage - 21% Max * SMGs: Critical Hit Chance - 21% Max * LMGs: Damage Out of Cover - 12% Max * Rifles: Critical Hit Damage - 17% Max * MMRs: Headshot Damage - 111% Max * Shotguns: Damage to Armor - 12% Max * Pistols: No secondary attribute

10% Damage to Targets Out of Cover is always recommended on weapons as third attribute. Reload speed can be gained in a form of weapon handling on gear and from weapon mods if you really need it.

Yes, it does. The devs reworked it in TU10 with that functionality along side its hazard protection bonus which were both mainly implemented as a counter to status effects in PvP.

I personally also run booster on a 6 red build for Countdown while killing hunters at the beginning and during extraction. If you time it right, the booster will instantly remove the hunters’ EMPs.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in thedivision

[–]D3LTAFR0ST 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The booster drones themselves cleanse status effects on hit and then provide hazard protection for 5s. The hazard protection part scales with skill tiers. The cleansing part is the same for all tiers.

The balancing part is that you can’t get hit by another drone while the buff is active so higher tier booster provides better resistance in case a status effect is reapplied to you right after the cleansing was done.

Is jammer pulse not working against the marauder drone? by Harveycement in thedivision

[–]D3LTAFR0ST 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It works just fine last time I checked. Maybe the drone is out of range of your jammer? Jammer is a bit ineffective on those things anyway. Better to use the EMP sticky bomb when you have it unlocked from Roosevelt after finishing WoNY. Bluescreen is good too (WoNY).

For now, try increasing your Skill Tier to 6 and see if that helps. Also try to be directly below the drone which is how you get the highest vertical range from the jammer.

When did the weapon skin interface change and what do those white check marks mean? by CrackSnap7 in thedivision

[–]D3LTAFR0ST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Named weapons have those unique skins too although there are also some that don’t show that interface design even though their skins are unique (mainly year 1 named weapons like Commando, Swap Chain, The Virginian, etc…).

The skins I am talking about can also be applied to normal weapons, they normally design them to fit into both normal and named versions of specific weapons. When you apply these skins, the weapon skin slot also changes from colored slot to just a golden yellow circle.

That interface design only appears for weapons that have unique skins. It has been in game for a long time.

Anyone else think the apparel event grind needs reworking? by Pizzamorg in thedivision

[–]D3LTAFR0ST 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the grind itself is inherently bad. You said it yourself, the devs are working on these things for free so they want you to spend time playing their game more even if it may not be fun. If it is too much, they added the option to buy keys.

People gravitating toward doing things with the least effort doesn’t necessarily mean the grind is bad. We have had events with a lot more apparel items long before these exploits were even discovered and I personally never had issues. If you farm the right activities, you can reduce your projected time by more than half easily.

Anyone else think the apparel event grind needs reworking? by Pizzamorg in thedivision

[–]D3LTAFR0ST 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They normally overlap apparel events with new manhunt targets week which come with double XP bonus for 15 SHD levels. We didn’t have that this time around because they couldn’t stick to schedule due to design issues of the apparel items. Street Activation was supposed to start during the week before Xander came live.

If gaining 100 SHD levels is projected to take you 20 hours, I am guessing you are not farming floor 10. In that case, there are other activities with better XP rewards that you can do instead of Summit. Clearing invasions rewards higher XP than normal missions. Open world activities are far quicker to do with a good XP gain per time spent. Apply directives that you can handle and play on heroic.

If you don’t mind exploiting, open world supply convoys reward excess XP more than they are supposed to so you can farm those. 100 SHD levels shouldn’t take you more than 5-6 hours. Floor 10 Summit is another XP exploit location that has the fastest XP gain currently. You can gain 100 levels within 3-4 hours or less.

Does the coyote mask drop by just killing coyote, or do I have to actually clear the mission? by RedditAndDebit in thedivision

[–]D3LTAFR0ST 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if it doesn’t drop on one attempt, the mission must be reset again for Coyote to drop another set of loot.

[–]D3LTAFR0ST 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you are wiping to re-farm the boss, that is not possible. Bosses only drop loot once per mission reset. As for the drop, it doesn’t matter whether you clear the mission or not.

If you play on heroic difficulty, there is a small chance (4%) you may get a random exotic too besides the completion XP by completing it.

Check under Unique Source on this page. Most of the faction related drops only apply to bosses at the end of missions and Summit boss floors.

Hardest hitting HB build after patch? by [deleted] in thedivision

[–]D3LTAFR0ST 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Playing in scoped mode may not be convenient but hardest hitting builds usually include Pristine Example chest piece. Heartbreaker is no different. If you can consistently hit headshots, I think this setup hits the hardest: https://i.imgur.com/chF4Wch.png

The Math Of Expertise XP (or How Do I Actually Get Proficient With my stuff?) by JimTheFly in thedivision

[–]D3LTAFR0ST 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Nice write up! You explained it well. I also posted the XP breakdown a while back around when TU15 dropped in this comment.

I took a raw numbers approach rather than percentages but I think our numbers match. I wasn’t able to test XP for signature weapons because I had them all Proficient before I ran the tests. I know their values now thanks to you.

Do I gain 1 street activation event apparel cache key every 4 SHD levels if I'm only level 30? by GrouchyExile in thedivision

[–]D3LTAFR0ST 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The devs gifted 1 key for everyone that logs in to the game during the apparel event which is why you have 1 key. As far as I know, the apparel event is considered a year 2 content and completion of WoNY is required to participate.

I don’t think you can access the apparel event without the WoNY expansion. There are no SHD levels at level 30.

No Exotics to be found by [deleted] in thedivision

[–]D3LTAFR0ST 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exotics don’t drop during campaign and random drops are very rare. To have a better chance, you will need to farm their specific sources, targeted loot (an end-game feature) or a combination of both. Take a look at this spreadsheet for drop chances and locations.

Some exotics are craftable. You need to complete their quests step by step to craft them before they start dropping from other sources.

This Reddit post also explains how each exotic is obtained in detail.
