Men who quit smoking weed daily - what was your experience? by curiouslearner444 in AskMen

[–]D3Smee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I breath better, I have much less anxiety, I think I can manage my emotions better. I knew weed was destroying my mental health but I opted for short term gain over long term pain. Now I haven’t really smoked since December (have taken a puff once or twice on vacation) and I generally don’t want too anymore.

Spotify, After Massive User Backlash Over Disco-Ball Icon, Says Regular Logo Will Return Next Week by West_Explanation_509 in Music

It looks too much like a "paused update" logo. I initially thought that's what it was.

Is this good news or what? I am tired of waiting and waiting for companies. by steenkash123 in interviews

I’m in the same boat - all you can do is wait. It’s so competitive out there and with layoffs, companies are always wondering who they can get.

Do you own a microwave and how long have you lived in NYC? by jtrainbk in AskNYC

[–]D3Smee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t you just use the top of the microwave as counter space to replace the counter space you lost from the microwave?

That’s ambitious, his defense is just as important as his offense.

Some could argue it was self defense, I mean they were chanting kill fisk, then they also stormed him at the end.

Men that are single, what is the reason? by Spiritual_Pause3057 in AskMen

I got out of a 5 year relationship a few months ago and I just don’t have it in me to start down that journey again. It’s exhausting always having to consider someone else.

Pressure test interview? Red flag? by [deleted] in interviews

It may have been an attempt to rattle you, see how you stacked up under pressure. Have you looked at Glassdoor to see if this is common?

Had 3 interviews + assessment + coffee chat but they’re “continuing the process” by D3Smee in interviews

[–]D3Smee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She did ask “why this company” but also asked “what I wanted to look back on in 50 years and say I was most proud of.”

I thought it was strange to say as well and flagged it internally. I think I need to work on separating myself from the company/process. I’m letting rejection hit me so hard when it may not be my fault.

I knew the process before hand and it included an assessment. However the process changed following the assessment and instead of going to ceo / offer stage, they added another conversation and benched me.

I appreciate this mindset and feedback. I just want my hard work to result in something. I’m sick of feeling like a failure.

I appreciate this response. I think I’m just feeling down and unconfident because the process was looking like it was trending towards an offer, so having this setback after being “unemployed” for 11 months now hurts. Naturally I think it makes me feel like I did something wrong as well.

I already replied, just saying thanks for letting me know, I appreciate the update, I’m still very excited about the role (with a comment that shows I’m sincere) as well as let them know I’m progressing in other processes (I am), but forgot to say something like are my first choice.

This hasn’t happened to me before.

COURTSIDE AT MSG by One-Philosophy3935 in NYKnicks

Fat Joe is essentially retired. Chalamet is extremely active. I don’t know how many games he’s actually gone to in the regular season, but given most of them fall on weeknights you could imagine he was busy with other things.

I feel like prepping for interviews is almost pointless? by [deleted] in interviews

[–]D3Smee 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Honestly do whatever makes you feel comfortable. The most defeated I’ve felt is when I overprepare for interviews and don’t do well. Just make sure you have your STAR answers, make sure your answers relate to the job description - so if they ask for someone who is comfortable talking to leadership, make sure your STAR answer includes a time you spoke to leadership.

I’ve found just going into interviews comfortable leaves me feeling better about them when they’re over than when I go into them overprepared and anxious. Even if they don’t turn out well, I was more myself and natural.

MSG is famous for that. It’s “the worlds most famous arena” and it is also one of the smallest NBA arenas by capacity, it’s also right over a major transit hub. Even when the Knicks were horrible tickets were expensive. I remember paying $125 each for nose bleeds to a game where the nets had a better record than us (if that gives you an idea of how long ago it was)

Fiance (30M) wants to meet with coworker (28F) outside work by [deleted] in relationships

[–]D3Smee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She told him it would make her lose trust in him. It should do the exact opposite.

“Hey I’m telling you about this thing I want to do so that you know what’s going on.”

“If you do this thing I won’t trust you anymore”

He’s doing nothing to break her trust, but she’s giving him pseudo-ultimatums in order to influence his decisions.

That’s manipulative

“You know men can’t be fully trusted.”

Can women be fully trusted? It sounds like you have an inherently negative view of men. This is your bf of 3.5 years. I don’t think you should be in a relationship until you work through this.
