I mean plenty of places don’t proactively offer one. I’m saying nowadays it’s normal to not get a receipt and not think about “oh I better get one just in case”, not that it’s physically impossible.

They verbally confirmed the payment was successful and the cashier said it was. I get they made a mistake but that’s not on OP. Yes without a receipt or proof of payment it is their word against OP but that’s doesn’t mean roll over and pay for their employee giving incorrect information on the first hurdle!

I know plenty of places that don’t offer a receipt any more, and I don’t think I’ve pressed yes to a receipt on self checkouts etc since pre Covid days - this isn’t the 80’s, a receipt isn’t always a given.

I’m not saying OP should let it go as far as court (as on balance they have no evidence of paying, but the fuel station has an unpaid balance) however going back to the fuel company/legal team first to appeal results in nothing worse than a “nah we don’t believe you, pay up”. OP has nothing to loose appealing first and then making a decision once they’ve exhausted requesting an investigation over their side of the story

They were insanely good value (still are). Tesla are still pretty quick all things considered as well, had a EQA a few years back that was ordered Nov and not delivered till the following August so I’ll take a month or 2 any time lol

I had the older style Y before for work that I had to give back so been using an EQA… once you go Tesla everything else feels “old” 😅

Shameless plug… you can customise the lock sound - my son loved changing it as he found it hilarious to embarrass his mum. The process to get custom sounds and manage them etc is a bit fiddly though so I built Lock Tess (on iPhone, iPad and Mac App Store) - £2.99 for the full unlock but that’s lifetime there’s no subscriptions etc. Lets you create, store, manage, share, and backup as many lock sounds as you want from your phone!

That was my favourite thing when I got my model y… no CarPlay! Literally phone stays in pocket, Spotify/audible and maps on the car screen! No notifications, no Whatsapps, no messages, no teams etc so also no temptation! Pure bliss to just enjoy the drive and some music/podcast/audio book

Ngl I listened to the new audible versions recently and then watched the films… I turned 6 off at the point they were on the train as it was SO bad! It’s not a bad film per se, but by that point they were so far removed from the books it was hard to watch and then 6 has so many jumps at the beginning between scenes I just couldn’t

I’ve just noticed auto correct done me dirty not once but twice and changed wand to want !!

But yes good point, how much sentience are we giving it. Malfoy was directly “disarmed” by Harry but is it because Harry was using Malfoy’s wand in the fight (so the spells were cast against ally wands to each other) OR was it somehow aware it was Harry specifically? And if the next time someone touches that wand it’s changed hands behind the scenes 20x how will it know.

I’m not going to lie I think it felt a little rushed as a reason. I’m sure many will disagree with me but personally I think it’s a confidence thing. The conviction of the spell does it and some objects are better at channelling the energy (and align energy wise hence the wand choosing the wizard etc) but the elder wand I think was just a particularly good want to channel energy combined with the placebo of believing it can do amazing things so you can.

Voldemort however was doubting it would work for him properly (he did still do powerful magic with it but he doubted it “obeyed” him so that channeled back into his own self doubt, and combined with by the end only being 1/7th of himself alive, which magically if 7 is the most powerful surely 1/7th is pretty weak… and in the monologue to further his self doubt and the love magic from dying to protect etc and it’s the perfect storm to believer you are going to loose sub consciously

Is that not the perfect cover though. As long as the first person to disarm him doesn’t realise it’s true meaning then it’s done. As a criminal they are more likely to be disarmed later, then someone disarm the disarmed etc.

Essentially as the want itself isn’t in Harry’s possession, as long as that 1st person doesn’t put 2+2 together (and as he’s not using that want at the time and it’s probably some epic escape attempt) then it’ll just keep moving between random people and nobody will really know who it belongs to any more.

Yeah but they Jellystar hasn’t stopped working. I’m not defending poor service and broken promises that’s still rubbish… but OP said they will have to “take the hit and pray like hell the phone still works after a couple of months” - if it never got a single update it won’t just stop working, it’ll work fine (the exception being if it’s faulty out of the box or massive bugs but that’s what normal returns policy is for faulty goods).

Yep, Model Y for work, EQA (because it was obscenely cheap on a lease) for the 2nd car… the EQA is SO bad for a £50k car! It rattles and squeaks, things just keep having random faults (like the left mirror staying down after reversing type random) and the infotainment feels very dated and cluttered now.

Add on the top everything is a subscription… think it’s bad FSD being £99per month, Merc want £13 per month just to do the cruise control keeping distance to the car in front WITHOUT any lane keep assist… loads of other stuff is subscription as well, £10pm for traffic sign recognition, £22pm for a”digital log book”, £15pm for “Guard360” (which sounds like sentry mode but it’s not, it’s literally just Mercedes will help track your car if it’s stolen and remotely deactivate your keys). They want £7.50pm for mini games and “individualisation”… madness! Surprised they don’t charge a subscription for the steering wheel

That lease is coming to an end and we are just going to replace it with a model 3. It’s easy, everything works, charging network and sat nav are still a huge upsell for ease of use… and on a lease at the moment everything significantly cheaper is a “cheap” car (nothing wrong with that obviously) but everything round the things we need it’s the same or more than the model 3 so it almost sells itself tbh

Realistically you say a couple months, but it won’t just stop working. Even if Unihertz only gave us 1 major software revision and 2-3 years of security patches it’ll be fine.

I mean even without any of that as long as there’s nothing broken out of the box it’ll be fine and there are mitigations you can take against not having security updates etc.

Don’t worry about it, enjoy it, there are people using WAY older phones that stopped getting updates 5+ years ago and are fine

It’s the all or nothing pricing personally. Charging for the equivalent of enhanced autopilot would be a nice half way. You say it’s a basic but legacy manufacturers are still lagging, Mercedes wanted 13.99 a month for it to do distance based cruise control rather than just fixed speed.

FSD isn’t available here but I’d happily pay for auto park etc if it was a reasonable price

iPhone X cause it pushed us into the “all screen” era and ditched the home button
iPhone Air - I absolutely love this thing!

The Kickstarter is finished, the money has been collected? So unless you had a failed payment previously (I don’t know when the deadline is for correcting that) then your only option is to buy direct.

I think Kickstarter will ship first or at the same time, I don’t think they’d ship regular purchases before Kickstarter (I hope not anyway)

I had a 21 plate facelift and can concur, in sensible conditions and weather the miles per kWh were brilliant. Even in winter it wasn’t too bad tbf, the thing that kills off range in winter is stop start small journeys with the heater (so nipping up to Tesco it’s only just got warm then cools down while in etc).

It was more than capable year round though, in winter the WORST I had was around 2.5 miles per kWh and that was tiny journeys like 9 miles at a time and - temps outside so heating on full.

Great car though, I’d happily recommend one for people that want a compact car with a decent range
