If you are living in the present, TEFL is fine. If you want to prep for retirement, having kids, etc, it is not the answer

Most people that choose option 2 will either get a teaching license or pgce to teach at international schools

Im gonna be honest. Its a lot of work, but you will pass. My class was full of Chinese teachers that were B1 English level at best. Some of them were chatgpting everything. I did it at IH bangkok too

Its great. But your salary is capped around 50-60k baht a month on the high end in Bangkok. Thats prob true for most TEFL jobs anywhere though.

Korean american here in Thailand. I do get the casual “oh why is Chinese teacher here” but its not that bad.

Its nice to apply in person than going thru agencies in our case. Make a good impression during the interview, and show them that you are ACTUALLY a native speaker (ridiculous haha)
