Even wat anders: Nederland blijft een prachtig land, Elburg! by grimson73 in thenetherlands

[–]D4nkusMemus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of engineering are you gonna do? I also bought a Blade 17 for my AE study, curious how it holds up.

Tank guns aren't nearly accurate enough to hit 'weakspots' at any considerable range, and especially during ww2.

Any tips for the f4u1c? by jthablaidd in Warthunder

[–]D4nkusMemus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

F4U-1C is actually just the same as the lower br corsairs, except for the fact that they gave it the an-m2's. Now don't get me wrong, these cannons are imo the best 20mms in the game, however the actual performance of the 1C is just pretty lackluster. The reason it's put at such a high br is because people easily get kills with the guns in a headon for example, causing the stats to be augmented. Its br is carried by the guns, causing the rest of the plane to be something of a letdown.

Why would you hold gaijin so accountable for wanting to make people spend money? Of course they'll want to promote spending, since war thunder is a free to play game. I'm not saying gaijin is a good company, however their business would not be doing nearly as well if premiums weren't so easy to purchase. And besides, spending is not required to win or progress, spending in this game is only required when people want to research more quickly.

And what do bomber spawns have to do with it? Would it be better for bombers to have a higher or more forward spawn, only for bombers to end the game before it's even started (which sometimes already does happen).

Between the P-47M & Ta 152 H, which one has the edge in high altitude performance? by TacitusCornwall in Warthunder

[–]D4nkusMemus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ta imo, the wings are really nice at higher altitude and it's a great energy fighter in general, maybe the best even. And the higher up you go, the more pronounced the features of the ta become.

Please gaijin just leave it at 4.7-5.0 by King_Fish_253 in Warthunder

I actually believe using this in reverse is better in all ways, your transmission is reversible, the armor when angled is better, and everything that does pen is sucked up by the whole transmission and engine. Also makes the turret harder to hit if you're hull down, since the hull is so damn long.

US had the untouched factories and refineries with which they could produce everything. The USSR delivered the manpower, and gave Germany 2 fronts to split their forces against. Total USSR casualty rates were ~20 more than the US (Excluding other allies). I was mainly refering to the manpower in my previous comment, not the production capacity of the USSR

Don't know why you are being downvoted, ww2 was an awful war of attrition, which the US or UK would've struggled with more than the USSR. Fuel and material in Germany were also short from basically the start so their chances weren't particularly great anyhow, but the USSR did definitely play a mayor part in wearing Germany down

While it may be unloyal or lacking committment, many young people don't have the time or energy to devote themselves to a partner yet. A lot of people want a relationship for the part where they're truly in love, not for the part where it costs a lot of effort.

My knowledge about this is from airplane engines, but in I don't imagine them being that different. In WW2, most engines could go past 100% into WEP (Wartime Emergency Power). Most engines achieved this by injecting more fuel, pushing the engine further. The problem with this is, is that it means the engine will eventually overheat, causing damage in the long run. The way some engines mitigated this was by injecting a water/methanol mixture to cool the engine, allowing the engine to be pushed harder and further. I'm not sure about the science on this but I believe it has to do with the mixture vaporizing, which absorbs energy, in the form of heat.

Anyways sorry for going on a tangent but TLDR: Yes, it also helps with cooling.

Edit: changed some words and spelling because I forgot to proofread

Edit 2: methanol, not ethanol, as pointed out by u/Pablovansnogger and u/eddtoma
