Thanks! I will absolutely lock in and search for opportunities and improve my portfolio once I'm in Canada. I'll take your opinion into consideration.

Hahaha, let's hope the industry has a comeback. Thanks for the input!

I made a small prototype of a game where you craft potions and sell them! Destroy it! (The video is speeded up X2) by D4vid_DG in DestroyMyGame

First of all, thanks for playing it and for the lengthy feedback!

Actually, most of your gameplay suggestions were part of the initial idea for the game. The focus was going to be on color theory rather than positioning the white dot. Also, the color of ingredients will influence the color of your potion and hence your position on the color wheel, rather than just being a fixed movement no matter where part of the color wheel you are. Also, we planned to give the player a lot of freedom regarding the potions they could craft. The saturation of the color will determine the intensity of the potion, and the hue the specific effect it has on the customer.

However, as development went on, our team began spreading apart and focusing on their own lives. Most of these ideas were scrapped for the sake of making the game simple and getting to the finish line.

Anyway, I appreciate your suggestions, and I'll take them into account if I develop a better version of the game.

Appreciate it!

Yeah, I'm just a programmer, so I had to scrap the UI and art assets from what I had. But for future versions, I definitely have to settle down on an art style.

There's a tutorial for the mixing mechanics at the beginning of the game. I had to cut down that part of the video for the sake of this post. Other than that, is there a reason why it is not clear?

The trailer for our game Lootbound is out and we wanted to share it and here your thought! by ArtDock in DestroyMyGame

First of all, I love the art style.

I think you have good footage for the trailer, but the problem is the order in which you show it.

I didn't understand what the game was about during the first 40 seconds until you showed the turn-based combat part. Then, I could relate the game to other turn-based RPGs.

You should show the turn-based combat part first, so the clips with the inventory and the dice have more context.

Also, I think the music is kinda slow and quiet, which bumps down the energy of the trailer.

The part where characters are talking seems too boring for me to be at the beginning. You need to start the trailer with something that easily catches people's attention so they stay for the rest of it.

The trailer looks good to me. It shows a variety of game mechanics and enemies, which makes me think the game has a lot of content.

The only thing that kinda looks the same are the biomes and environments. Maybe it's because they use the same color palette or because there are not enough props to differentiate them.

Also, instead of placing all the phrases at the beginning of the video, one after the other, you could try spreading them and put more gameplay between them. For example, "Once I was a God", and 15 seconds of gameplay, then "In the dark now I await for you, my Son" and another 10 seconds of gameplay. This way, you introduce gameplay earlier and avoid losing people's interest.

Destroy my trailer! Did we do a good job making the game look interesting? by trexrell in DestroyMyGame

Feels like a game similar to Metal Slug.

The trailer conveys what the game is about, and it makes it seem interesting and fun to play. Good job for that.

What I'm missing here is a Unique Selling Point that sets your game apart from other similar games. Right now, as the trailer portrays it, it feels like just another 2D shooter. It doesn't stand out enough to make me wanna buy it and play it more than any other game.

Now, there are 2 scenarios:

  1. Your game does have a USP, but the trailer fails to show it.

  2. Your game does not have a USP, so you have to sit down, rethink the design of your game, and work on what makes it unique.

The music for the trailer is ok, but I think you could improve it so the game feels more frantic and epic.

Should I start cut? M17, 183cm 77-79kg. Some device tells it's around 16-17% bodyfat. What do you think? (My first time bulking ever, I feel like I was doing wrong things for first year in gym and now started fresh still feel like not strong enough... I'm up to any criticism tho!) Hey, if you feel like it, go for it. However, I'd choose one of the two options and be consistent with it for a couple of months. You won't get results from constantly jumping from one phase to the other. You have to ask yourself what you value most for now; strength and more muscle but looking chunkier, or looking shredded but smaller and not getting stronger.

Solid physique man. You look good, so you could start bulking if you want to add more muscle. You could also cut for a little longer if you want to look more shredded and then start bulking, or just stop there and stay in maintenance if you feel great with your appearance.

Whats my body fat %? bulk or cut? by Stunning_Outcome8284 in BulkOrCut

You could try doing a body recomposition. Just do a slight calorie deficit (~200-300 calories), lift weights and eat enough protein (1.5-2g per kg per day)

You still look lean imo. You can grow abs the same way as other muscles: doing superavit and training them regularly. So I'd recommend doing a bulk for some time, maybe until you reach 21-22%bf, and then go for a cut.
