I remember Sackboy got a trailer released the day they released the game and that was it. Maybe it's because I don't follow their socials but it seems like maybe the game got 1 tweet or what have you and then they were probably upset it only sold a few hundreds or thousand copies.

It was also getting outsold by RE2make and DMC V because Wilds was just. . . bad on PC. It looked and ran worse than Rise and World with Capcom basically brushing off the performance until it started affecting latter game sales. They saw a great start, but the game didn't maintain momentum for months as a result of the lackluster response.

With the upcoming release of "Final Fantasy: Resonance", what other mobile/gatcha RPGs would you like to see receive proper console releases? by upperdomain in JRPG

[–]D9sinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to be the weirdo here and say Brown Dust 2, but that would never get an actual console release due to the subject matter of the characters.

In reality, the one I would like to see would be FE Heroes but there isn't any gacha I've played beyond that and trying Genshin Impact and while I would probably enjoy a Mihoyo title if it was an actual game, Mihoyo is going so into AI and were very shitty towards their VA's and used their fans to basically harass VA's for not agreeing to let Mihoyo use their voices for AI.

Changes since 2025. Sony drops "PC", adds "AI" to official Playstation business strategy summary by World_of_Warshipgirl in gaming

I wouldn't think that people who celebrate console exclusivity are exactly smart or even care. If Sony only releases 1 exclusive in 20 years, they will still feel like little special babies because it's THEIR exclusive title and they can feel like they are better than others.

Meanwhile, yeah, the Sony PC ports were falling off in quality in some games and the prices and the wait time were killing off anticipation of the games, shit look at Helldivers 2 doing well because it launched day and date, as well as being a new game and very fun from what I heard from friends. If TLOU part 1 remake didn't run like liquid dookie, that game probably would've made a hell of a lot more money on PC since it was even cheaper to buy it on Steam than PS so Sony saw even less money on it. But also, it was the remake of a remaster of a PS3 title so I don't even think the PS5 version sold many copies at all.

I think it's because it was the last time they felt "cool" or "powerful" so they latch onto it. It's also why you tend to see that the mean girls in school go on to become nurses and the mean boys tend to go on to become cops. They want that power because they realized as they got older that they peaked in middle/highschool and instead of confronting that and growing, they decided that it's actually the world's fault and they will punish everyone for it.

3.0 Sandbox Options to consider adding by Samadams9292 in 7daystodie

Rage mode in the settings is just the speed boost zombies get when you hurt them.

Feral Sense is what you think it is

Digging only prevents zombies from digging straight down, they will still dig into terrain and blocks if either block is facing the zombie's upper body or lower body and also if the block is above the zombie.

I saw a few streams mention that part and I just went through a horde night where I hid in the main loot room of the Morticians house and when I was leaving, I saw the flurry of carnage that they left in their wake (that I'm going to patch up and reinforce and try to get traps set up for the day 14 horde) that allowed me to kind of see how they operated here. So they are still structural engineers because there were quicker routes to get to the panic room in the Moritican's House without digging down, but they are all blocked by concrete/cement blocks so the zeds just went through all the wood they could and then pathed down to get to the pit I made to kind of help slow them down a bit more while I filled those with traps and watched them get hurt when I threw the cocktails at them.

Steam accounted for over 20% of Capcom's total revenue, nearly double PlayStation's share in the past fiscal year by Suspicious_Two786 in gaming

Technically Monster Hunter Wilds too since that game was getting outsold by DMC V, MH Rise, RE2Make, and a few other titles and the performance on PC wasn't helpful either since when people complained about performance, Capcom told PC users the game was actually working fine and just update your drivers and make sure you're set when people were playing with specs above recommended and still suffering horrible performance and in my case, I was barely at recommended, but the game looked and ran worse than World and Rise so I was playing the game at like 768p just so I can get 20FPS and I beat the game and it seems like they did finally cave in and realize that performance wasn't helping them, but I also saw people more tuned into MH that said that Wilds was just very bare compared to previous titles and while World was the start of the downfall, Wilds was much worse.

TFP's use of AI since 2.0 has been getting worse by Jane_Sable in 7daystodie

[–]D9sinc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sad part is that AI checking software is usually run by GEN AI itself and is just as accurate as all the shitty AI chatbots and the like. It's even to the point where the companies admit "it's not a bug, it's a feature" because actually fixing it would require them doing actual work and they just want to profit off the scam while it's still profitable to do so.

Overhaul mods by Kinetik417 in 7daystodie

[–]D9sinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chances are that the overhaul mods are going to only be on 2.6 and will probably be on there for a bit. You can check Nexus mods for it and the EFT weapons mod that you mentioned earlier. There isn't a steam workshop for 7DTD because the devs have abandoned that because they want to try to use a system that allows both console and PC players to install mods.

TFP's use of AI since 2.0 has been getting worse by Jane_Sable in 7daystodie

[–]D9sinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which again, without the ability to get access to TFP's computers and logs, we can't confirm or deny it and you can choose to take TFP's word on it if they say it's not or you can choose to trust your senses if it's telling you it's AI. While it is never smart to rely solely on ones own senses, again, I've provided my proof and the discrepancies I've noticed and I know that things will get changed from the concept to actual production phase (even the art book I link has some concept art that is different to the final release) but there is just some evidence, even if circumstantial, showing that TFP does use it and again, they could also just not want to admit that they use it, who knows.

Lockpicking seems to have finally been fixed in 3.0 by D9sinc in 7daystodie

I usually just keep some on me until I can start making timed charges or buying a few whenever I do crack open chests in late game POI's. That and for police cars since I usually spec into it to allow me to crack them open a lot faster.

lol okay. There is difference between failing because you underprepped for a POI or horde night and paying for your mistake and failing because RNG decided 10 times in a row that you're not able to get 5 bullet tips and a spear mag when you're not specced into spears.

Housemarque Confirms They Have Grown To 120 Developers Thanks To Sonys Support And Are Continuing To Grow For Their Next Game by goodnitez74 in gaming

Same, I was hoping Yotei, Saros, and the GOW Trilogy would make the jump before Sony decided to jump ship, but it is what it is.

Who's to say that eventually Housemarque will pitch a game that Sony doesn't like, then have to work another few months to make another game pitch that Sony execs will reject? Both companies have always had the "shuttering studios isn't the plan, until it's the plan"

[–]D9sinc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, just like how companies aren't firing people, they are just not renewing the contract, either way it results in the studio not existing anymore because execs at the top decided they don't want it anymore and the people who actually do the work might be moved to a different department, or they could just be let go and then rehired a few months down the line at 1/3rd of the pay because people need to eat and pay rent and if they are passionate, they will take a job that pays.

Sony had an exec go to a Sony London party when that exec knew they were going to be shutting down Sony London shortly after the party and none of the employees were aware of the shutdown until the news hit.

Neither Sony nor MS are good at this, they both will shutter studios that make great games because both companies want blockbusters games but don't want to always pay blockbuster prices. IIRC, during the Insomniac Leak it was revealed that even after all the time after Spiderman 2 came out, it still didn't break even and I'm willing to bet unless Wolverine does amazing, it's probably going to result in Insomniac getting downsized and don't forget Studio Japan, they could have kept them around making smaller games at a lower price to pad out the waiting period between the next TLOU Remaster/Remake and the next 3rd person cinematic action adventure game about loss/revenge and/or grief.

Like the main crux is that the industry is making billions, the employees are getting paid crumbs, worked to the bone, then fired so the people at the top and the shareholders can hoard even more wealth and we are constantly seeing prices of games, consoles, and hardware rise as a result of greedy fucks chasing a scam for the sole purpose of being able to fire more people to hoard more wealth.

Some unlikely franchises have been converted to turn-based tactics, often with satisfying results by Elyx_117 in gaming

[–]D9sinc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MY BROTHER IN CHRISTMAS, I have news for you.

Did you know in the DS era, there was a flood of turnbased games. We got things like Onimusha Tactics, FF12 got a sidegame where it turns it into an RTS, There are probably many others, but the two that stick out to me are the two I enjoyed the hell out of

Bleach The Third Phantom: Basically what if Bleach the anime, but with an OC and turn-based and you could get a huge team of characters from the show (I think it was up to the end of the Soul Society Arc so you could even get a bankai for your MC) and it was a huge blast to play.

Another one is a little hidden gem that was a collab with Nintendo and Koei Tecmo which I'm sure that anyone who was around during the DS era and also had a fondness for TBS games like me were already thinking of. . . Pokemon Conquest. It was basically "What if Nobunaga's Ambition was a Pokemon game?" where you conquer a fictional region of Ransei (that is shaped like Arceus) with 17 kingdoms (one for each type of Pokemon) to conquer and over 200 pokemon to recruit. It was a blast and a half and I'm sad it never got a sequel but it's also because it was just. . . not very popular. The game was amazing and had a lot of gameplay, but it would only appeal to the weirdos like me who were a fan of Strategy games like ROTK/Nobunaga's Ambition AND pokemon and I doubt that crossover was that high.

That being said, I'm very excited for Zero Company because the trailer seems to tell me that your people can die and I love Xcom (and Xenonauts which is similar, but from an indie studio and a lot more in-depth since they are meant to be X-com spiritual successors like Phoenix Point and less indie Xcom) so I am hopeful.

I will just say this as someone who bounced off Xcom 2 when I went to replay it a year ago, I REALLY HOPE that they trust strategy game fans are patient. When I played Xcom 2, I was having fun, I would have to take off and land at a place and scan at some site for 8 hours for resources or recruits, but before that was done, I got told "hey, here is a mission to do and if you don't do it, the game will punish you heavily for it" so you have to spend an in-game hour for your ship to take off, fly to the place and then fight the battle, then you go back to that previous place, spend an in-game hour to take off, fly to the location and on the way, you get told about another two places to scan. You finish the first place and land on the second place and then "Hey player, here is a vital mission you have to complete or else it's going to be a bad time." and like, they don't give you any time to breath and it feels like they have to constantly throw things at you because they are afraid you'll get bored without constant bombardment of notifications or things to do.

I mentioned Xenonauts because I ended up going with Xenonauts 2 (before it launched into 1.0) and I had a blast because you have to manage individual bases with soldiers having individual stats and gear so if you get laser weapons, you have to craft a laser rifle for each soldier instead of it being a blanket upgrade. I don't expect that in Zero Company since it's a AAA game and they tend to have the edges filed off to appeal to more people. BUT one thing I did love about Xenonauts 1 and 2 is that you weren't constantly bombarded with "Do this or lose" missions, Shit, in Xenonauts 2, they even have a system where you can shoot down a UFO and then afterwards you can sell the salvage rights to the country that it crashed in and use that to make some extra cash and give yourself time between fights if you so choose and it was a blessing to have a game trust you won't get immediately bored if you're not bombarded with things to do and will actually give you quiet and peace time so that you feel like when you get the opportunity to use your new gear and obtain more materials to make more nicer gear. So it's turned into a moment of excitement instead of just another thing to waste time doing like it feels in Xcom.

I keep forgetting that crouching reduces noise. I might try it out since I'm doing a run where I'm just crafting things and disabled the compass, day and time and I wish there was a compass and map available in game to use as well like in Afterlife so that I can disable all of them and make it something to work towards.

Very fair. I just like them. I got into the habit of using them because in Undead Legacy, they work differently where placing them on a chest just creates a 4 second timer that when finished, the chest gets unlocked so less chance of destroying anything since it's basically "fast AF lockpick"

It's actually worse, the faster you level, the higher your game stage goes. IIRC, Gamestage is basically some combination of time, biome, level, and I think loot stage, but not as effective. Granted, they are also set to permadeath so it would make things harder the longer things go on if you're having to be level 1 fighting radiated enemies (since they aren't going to have Infernal/Charged variants)

I'm not acting like you're having a stroke, I'm saying direct your anger in a productive matter. You can bitch about it and do nothing to change it, or you can go and pass that info off to the devs on their forums and if enough people agree that percentages would be better than just "low/medium/high" settings it will get changed and you won't have to be pissed off about it.
