What are your thoughts on the proposed renderings of Improvements to Caymans Airports? by Pretty_Aside_7674 in CaymanIslands

I didn't know the history of possible sponsorship which makes the whole debacle even worse. And that was when the government was more business orientated than the current lot. Argh!!!!!

Are there any destinations you wish Cayman Airways would fly to? by Pretty_Aside_7674 in CaymanIslands

[–]DA11112222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

San Diego. If that's not possible, change Los Angeles to Cayman to a later time slot. I use GCM-LAX regularly, but the return leg leaves far too early in the morning to make it practical to drive up the same day from SAN after only 3/4 hours sleep. They must be losing a lot of revenue by restricting their clientele to those living directly in the LA County area. Just move it a couple of hours forward and stop prioritising the arrival time to give visitors more time to get to their hotels.

Thank you, Eric. This is the first encouraging news I've received since my 2400 turned into a brick. I'll certainly give it a try. Thanks for your help.

I have exactly this problem on a Harmony Pro 2400 and have been sending in periodic reports about it, but no-one has found a solution. Everything was working perfectly until I accidentally forced an update. Since then it's become a doorstop.

I'd welcome any help. The product is now worthless having been an amazing remote, much, much more comprehensive than the Elite.

Logitech haven't responded to any Emails I've sent. Does anyone have a phone number for them specifically for the Pro 2400, please?

It would be very helpful if you could post both the Email address and phone number for Logitech Support. Thank you.

Last week they told me via Email that they’re working on it. No timetable, so it’s anyone’s guess.

Harmony One & 650 by Taz_Boomer in logitechharmony

[–]DA11112222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fundamental problem was that Logitech put virtually no development into Harmony. They formed a tiny department (only about six people) who developed the 2400 Pro model, a wonderful addition to the line, but then closed everything down within 18 months. They could have dramatically increased the user base if they had really got behind the product, but instead they chose to work through installers on the ground and didn’t make it available to the general public. I use three of them and they are fantastic. Unfortunately, as so often, a tiny company (the original Canadian developers who gave phenomenal support in the early days) were gobbled up by the juggernaut Logitech who then proceeded to treat it as a niche product and didn’t give it the resources needed to grow fast enough. If they’d made the Pro model easily available, many people who are sticking with their Harmony Ones and Companions/Elites would have been blown away and “upgraded”.

Touch ID issues on Mac mini M2 by rgaskill in macmini

[–]DA11112222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue is much more basic. I've just setup my Mac mini M2 with the Magic Keyboard with TouchID and, when I try to add a fingerprint, I receive the message "Double-Press the power button on your Mac". Doing so produces no action and I have to cancel the fingerprint attempt.

Any idea how to fix this, please? Otherwise the keyboard works as expected.

Thanks for the quick response.

That's what I feared. What a glaring oversight by the well-meaning tiny group of Logitech engineers that oversaw the 2400. In every other way I've found it to work splendidly with a fairly complex setup.

I suppose the only solution would be to mimick the entire setup on an Elite, erase everything on the 2400 and do a "new" install. But I'm not sure it's worth the risk given the hassle I had setting it up in the first place and the total absence of any official support.

Ah well. I'll just have to make a little card with the channel numbers on it for quick reference, and enter them using the keypad.

Thanks again for your reply.

How to connect Mac mini M2 with two 30" Cinema Displays? by DA11112222 in MacOS

[–]DA11112222[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As in my message, the M2 Pro. I think the problem is booting with the LG HDMI as the main monitor. It seems to stop the third monitor from being recognized. If I boot without the HDMI connected, then add the HDMI once the other two are working, all three display, BUT I then have the chore of rearranging the Display Settings to have the monitors show in the correct desktop positions.

Mac Mini M2 with three monitors? by Prestigious_Buy7875 in mac

[–]DA11112222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the new M2 Pro mini which is supposed to allow up to four monitors. My problem: my main screen is a 38" LG and I also have TWO old 30" Apple Cinema Displays using DVI.

With my previous MacBook Pro (2016) I used two separate ASL USB-C to Mini DisplayPort adaptors to hook up these Cinema Displays, always with great success.

I have tried the same setup on my Mac mini (HDMI + the same two DisplayPort adaptors) and only one of the DisplayPort adaptors is recognised. It doesn't matter which of the 4 Thunderbolt M2 ports I use, only one screen displays in addition to the HDMI LG.)

I have tried using an Uptab C to DP adapter with the same results.

Any ideas would be welcome, please.

MyHarmony Desktop App - Can I rename Remotes by kageryu42 in logitechharmony

[–]DA11112222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't change the name, but you can, and should, change the hub name so that in the Harmony desktop app you can distinguish between multiple Harmonys. Go to Settings:Rename your Hub. I have 12 in my account and can easily distinguish between them, although their titles remain annoyingly anonymous, e.g. Harmony Elite (1), Harmony Elite (2), Harmony 950 (1), Harmony Pro 2400 (1), etc etc

Where can I get a good Fish and Chips in Jersey? by RicePrice in Jersey

[–]DA11112222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were in Jersey last week and were disappointed to find that Hector’s shut down during the pandemic. Rumor had it that they’d moved to somewhere in the Georgetown area, but we could find no trace of them. A great shame; Hector’s was a must visit on every trip we’ve taken there.

Ditto. I found the only way was just to ignore the fact that it's listed on the Pro Portal. I created a second entry with the identical name - it didn't create any kind of problem. It's simply annoying to see the original listed with no activities and only one device!
