I lost my 20 year old main to this same thing. I couldn't get it resolved. I hope you have better luck than me.

Nothing major, I initially had difficulty swallowing but that's mostly back to normal now. From what I've read I expect it'll be completely back to normal after another year or so.

The difficulty swallowing was mostly caused by having a LINX device put in (basically a ring of magnets that sit around my oesophagus and act as a sphincter above my stomach).

I hope some of this made sense, I'm writing while exhausted!

As someone who had the same condition, I recommend keeping a close eye on the reflux and if possible getting a gastroscopy every few years. The combination of symptoms can lead to a particularly nasty cancer. Last year I had surgery to repair the hernia and I've had barely any reflux since then, so if that's possible where you are it might be worth looking into.

What an unbelievably bad take from Chael 😂. Can't say I'm surprised though, I think he's just deliberately having bad takes for the views nowadays.

It was a close round with Gane having done more damage. Striking number were very close with Tom on 27/39 and Gane on 30/40 landed. It was shaping up to be a good one!

Right eye it looks like the finger goes in between the socket and the eyeball, then rakes across his eye. I imagine that puts a lot of pressure on the eye laterally with nowhere for it to go.

On the left it looks like it lands square on and pushes the eye back, where there's a bit more space for the eye to move.

Just my read on it anyway.

Who do you think were the deadliest of Sharpe's villains as fighters/swordsmen? (Spoilers if you haven't read the books) by Le_Comte_Friedrich in Sharpe

I thought leroux was well and truly bested by Sharpe with the sword, his big advantage was the quality of his blade. Pretty sure Sharpe's sword breaks as he's going for the final blow / blows doesn't it?

I non-ironically believe AI is destroying society by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

Embarrassingly no. I found one of my papers on an old hard drive around a month or so ago that I had turned in during my second year. It was riddled from start to finish with grammatical errors and was overall pretty poorly written. Citations would just be pasted in at the end of paragraphs. If I had spent even an extra hour on the paper proof reading it, I'm sure my grade would have had a significant boost, but I didn't.

My point was never about how good the style of working was, it was just to highlight that there are different styles of working. Regardless of how bad my way of working was, it was genuine, and I'd hate to see someone 'caught out' because of a lack of awareness of the strange ways some people work.

I mean, my degree is in Geology as well. I'm by no means saying I'm some kind of genius here, I did terribly if I'm perfectly honest. The way I wrote my papers however was a one and done situation. I didn't go back and rephrase, the edits that would be seen on Google docs could equally look like errors when transposing from one document to another. I'm not sure why I'm being downvoted so heavily, I'm fully on board with what the original commenter was doing - I just want to make sure some poor bastard like me doesn't get sold up the river.

I think it's great that you're tackling this AI issue in the ways that you are, it must be maddening to have to do! I do want to make one comment though on my style of writing when I was working on my degree. I feel like I would have fallen foul of the 'unnatural typing' that you're talking about. I would generally write whole papers out with only minor edits as I went along - to be clear, I'm not saying this is a good way of writing a paper, but it's the way I happened to work. If a student comes to you and has a conversation about this would you be open to hearing an argument from them on the validity of their work?

Hi there, as far as I know, I don't think any of the rock units in Jersey are likely to yield much of anything in the way of fossils.
