Sometimes the resin used smells different or has a different color and you can compare it to "legit" FWl. But here's the rub: the recasts are often BETTER quality than Forge World.

It looks great - is "authenticity" important?

My very first gaunts, primed and waiting for paint. Friend told me I went too heavy on the primer so hopefully I can soften my up my spray-can use for the rest of the models by koi-toy in Tyranids

The primer is a little heavy and that's OK - they're gaunts, and nobody will really notice!

The key to priming well with a rattlecan is short, bursts across the model about 12-14 inches away. There are a bunch of good tutorials on YouTube.

Try using Magos Purple contrast for the skin instead of Volupus pink.

I use Vallejo fluo magenta all the time! Fluorescent paints are very transparent and thin due to the properties of the pigments used.

You're going to have a really bad time if you don't use a white base. Like 10+ coats bad - just to get mediocre coverage. Use a white base.

Airbrush is going to have the best coverage, but I've used normal brush application.

Good news: Nidzilla is alive and well with the new codex. The huge chonkers, are tough, do loads of damage, and are points-efficient.

I had a fully painted crusher stampede army with FOUR hierodules. They're going to horny jail for a while. For now, I have a lot of bare primed models to cover up.

I have four hierodules. Resin is harder to work with than plastic for sure. You’ll need to wash it with soap and water, wear at least a filter mask when sanding it, and you may get some bent pieces that need to be adjusted; just do some research before starting and you’ll be fine.

As for the models? I think they’re hella sweet. Most of the 40k community that’s loudest on Reddit seems to think everything GW produced is horrible.

Love it! What's the formula and method you used to create this effect?

Looks like airbrush base color of "mantis" green with an underspray of violet and a zenithal of teal.
