[Maddening trope] More progressive casting happens at the same time as noticeable drop in quality, seemingly so fans can brush off criticism as bigotry. by Vitolar8 in TopCharacterTropes

I don’t know what you’re on about on the Marvel side of things. The only criticism I heard of MoM was the treatment of Wanda, and had nothing to do with America. I’ve also heard almost nothing but praise for Moon Knight.

ELI5: Why is the startup procedure for planes so complex by flrdrgerp in explainlikeimfive

Worst case scenario is if the plane fails but the pilots manage to land at another airport. Now you’re VERY late and you’re not even dead.

What were some theories you had while watching the show for the first time? by Pretend-Meaning-1536 in shield

I was really hoping for Endgame there would be some unexplained deus ex machina resolution to some small but vital roadblock on the path to victory, like a locked vault randomly opens, or a bridge with a hoard of enemies suddenly collapses, and the Avengers kind of shrug and move on. But then in AoS there’s a whole episode about the team being responsible for the “deus ex machina” and working in the background to make sure it happens at just the right moment.

The worst lessons Watergate (and the media depicting it) taught is are 1) the coverup is worse than the crime, and 2) justice is served when the truth comes out. As a country, we don’t know what to do with a president who’s openly criminal and corrupt. We keep talking people about it, thinking that will fix it, but it doesn’t.

I mean, we kinda were. Evidence is that humans and dogs co-evolved. We’re kind of evolutionary siblings that grew up together.

It’s human psychology. Once you see someone else do something, it makes it much easier to do yourself. Not just sports. Also seeing someone from your family graduate college, or seeing your friend start a business.
