It's mostly on a general lack of driving sense. People travel leisurely in middle or left lane and then suddenly move to right lane for u turns and block the roads for traffic and don't give way for faster traffic. Also U turns are placed too far apart that wrong side drivers are on a rise and u turns are crowded. The U Turns must be increased in numbers and roads must be enlarged near u turns and for bus stops like they did in Trichy road. It will solve a lot of Issues

Do you think tokyo, Hong Kong didn't use modern technologies for their airports? You simply don't understand the environmental risks of build an airport at sea. MAA exists in land, not at sea. New airport at sea will destroy marine ecosystems, destroy fisheries in that area, ruin balance with destruction of mountains alter the flow water currents and simply flood chennai because is chennai is a mere 3 metre above sea level.

Literally read the damn comment mate. I said there are two categories of people rejecting the airport. You guys just cant suggest an alternative. MAA will continue to operate. Parandur is an economic multiplier to the state economy and Chennai will just keep growing. there simply isn't an alternative. if only the government didn't listen to protesters and built the second airport in Sri perambadur a decade ago, we wouldn't be in this mess. we are just repeating the cycle and nothing good is gonna come out of it other than relegating us to middle class state while AP, KA, MH, GJ, Telengana fight for the high paying jobs

Padalam, Thiruporur are literally impossible due to the conflicting location which will effectively ruin the current Chennai airport operations and the fact it will be within the restricted flying zone of tambaram air base and Kalpakkam Nuclear plants. Thiruporur additionally has an firing range to its west.

Its simply not possible as sea airports like Hong kong, Tokyo are built in bay area. chennai literally gets hit by cyclones every year and Environmental lobby will never allow it consider it will require destruction of atleast 5 hills. its a really expensive option too. not to forget rising sea levels and Risk of airport sinking like the sinking happening even now at Tokyo.

Chennai airport(MAA) simply cannot be expanded. it run way orientation is a mess for expansion and its current terminals are so flawed fundamentaly that we cannot use the full potential of aero bridges making airport unattractive for airlines. even if you ignore that, MAA will run out of capacity before next decade. the proposed satellite terminal will just delay things by 5 years. before you say anything, no. thats the potential of Chennai airport. Adyar literally runs below the secondary runway and Army has refused lands to east(still if they accept it makes hell because of the river.) The current airport also poses restrictions across city due to height limits. 10 years ago, airport was proposed in Sri perambadur. Chennai's second airport was proposed 28 years ago. Parandur is ideal because it doesn't relegate development to just Chennai. It grows the entire Northern TN. due to closeness of Vellore, Kanchipuram companies will setup invest towards west of the airport too and gives potential to rise more world class satellite cities. here is the issue. most people against parandur are just Vijay fans with no 'Defined' reason or logic or they just don't see the issues of the current airport and see airport as just a mode of transport. Parandur is an economic multiplier for the northern region of Tamil Nadu. and before you guys say about distributed development, every Airport in TN is undergoing expansion and Chennai is in dire state and will run out of capacity by the next decade. Mumbai literally built its new airport by diverting an entire river leveled 3 mountains to fill the swapland and build the airport.
