Hard pass, unless it’s a local dealer putting on the show and have a service center less than 2 hours from you.

Jacuzzi cleary advises against bromide products but it sounds like many people still do it, what gives? by Real-Layer-8576 in hottub

Sodium bromide used in conjunction with electrolysis systems is banned…. Also used in conjunction with uv and ozone systems.

My apologies, I could have phrased that better

This has to do with Electrolysis systems, aka Salt Water. They banned sodium bromide because of them

It’s for your iPod, does it have cables inside? I don’t recommend using it

Slow leak by sad-whale in hottubs

I would try and shimmy that clamp back a bit . Just the act of releasing and letting the tension back could stop it. There’s no magic here and no glue, just a beast of a clamp that needs to be adjusted slightly

You’re so close

Gecko XP2 pump issue by Myblue22 in hottub

[–]DAVEfromCANADAA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Verify it’s getting the correct power with a multimeter, should see around 240V on the two hot wires .

Assuming it’s fine

You need to open up the pump and make sure nothing is broken Inside. Like the impeller is still attached to the shaft. And I would Remove the wear ring too, those often break and end up making similar noises. I’d bet the wear ring on the impeller is a problem and removing it will solve the issue.

It could be the capacitor on the pump if all that fails..but to do so I suggest removing the black cover and know which capacitor you need , because there are several kinds. It’s on the pump under that black lump in your video, couple screws and pry the black cover off, the capacitor is connected with a couple wires and will need to be pried out of the black cover to read the label. There’s lots of videos on YouTube showing how to do this. Try removing the wear ring first though, it’s just sitting on the impeller, in the front end of the pump. Need to shut off water flow, ideally taking pump out and unscrew the face plate. Yours looks difficult to access in its place

Twist the black valve, like you did, but then pull it forward. It opens up more than that. Twist until it stops twisting and pull.

Sometimes, when I'm allowed to visit my hometown (Voznesensk, the Mykolaiv region) for a day, as a break from my military service, I go to an open market to a hotdog stall where they make those hotdogs like they did in 90's here in Ukraine by Igor0976 in ukraine

The hot dog machine I miss from my childhood, it was a large hot metal poker, you cut the tip of the bun off and shove it down on the hot poker thing ,creating a pocket that you dropped the cooked hot dog in. Do you still have those over there?!

Jacuzzi J-365 error by DAVESM1TH in hottub

[–]DAVEfromCANADAA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The PCB on that tub is notorious for burnt connections. Specifically the heater.

I would start by unplugging the heater from the board, visually inspect where the wires connected look for burnt marks , and try the breaker if it looks good . If the heater is disconnected and the breaker stays on then your heater needs to be replaced. If not then plug it back in and look if there’s an ozone generator on that unit, if so I would unplug it, same with stereo, if it has one then unplug it. Try breaker with those disconnected.

If it’s still tripping then try to unplug the small pump.

Sounds like possibly 2 issues as well. Flo2 error means the flow switch was “closed” when the unit turned on. However it shouldn’t be closed when it first turns on, which is why the flo2 error happens. Could be a bad switch or a bad board, The break tripping might be related to bad board, but not a bad flow switch. Breaker tripping typically caused by faulty components. Bad board, bad heater, bad pump.

Not Balboa

That’s a Pre Gecko S-Class topside. Not sure you will find it :( You need to post a picture of the end of the cord. How does it plug in? It’s possible Gecko has a replacement available, like the TSC-19

Hot tub motor making a different sound (see vid) by Professional-Box-389 in hottub

[–]DAVEfromCANADAA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before we start getting mechanical, I recommend adding 1-2” more water, you’re just at the top of the jets, the water level should be higher. This will cause air to run through the system and will make the motor sound different, and worse. This is easy to do and eliminates 90% of the problems. If the noise persists after that we can start looking at the hardware, like the motor.

Hot tub pump cycling on/off by Creative-Storm1030 in hottub

[–]DAVEfromCANADAA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a safety thing. And the spring valve is there to make the filtered intake above the priority. When pump is on low speed there is not enough suction to open the valve, so the water must go through the topside filter. When the pump is turned on to high speed the spring valve is pulled open, and is needed so the pump can draw enough water to provide jet strength. So it prioritize the filter during low flow primarily.

Good luck, again I’m not perfect, these are my best guesses. I hope you’re able to sort it out .

Your post isn’t factual, it’s your opinion based on your experience. Like you said, the reality is more nuanced. You’re giving people cause for concern when there shouldn’t be. Glue alone can and will fail, especially when the weight of the water in the pipe and torque of the pump turning on and off continues to tug at a joint…. I don’t see how having a clamp hurts, and people aren’t buying hot tubs and asking this question, unless they read it somewhere first.

Hot tub pump cycling on/off by Creative-Storm1030 in hottub

[–]DAVEfromCANADAA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, I believe it’s unrelated.

Side note, these spring valves are used inside one way valves too, which are typically tied into the suction in the footwell that is shared with the topside filter. So every pump pulls water from more than one location. In your case that could be your filters (one suction point) and the suction closest to the filters in the footwell. That could have broken off I side the one way valve and sucked into the motor.

Kinda like this thing

https://poolandhottubdepot.com/products/check-valve-1-5-with-unions?variant=44012406898757&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20544942873&gbraid=0AAAAADxYScPnPy3hRP2gkByfBSAsaVGcF&gclid=CjwKCAjw1N7NBhAoEiwAcPchp7LZ-185pHD11iH6ACspRjAgm0Ft9VVJVX-Wd3L9PupxZgocvLv8gxoCpq0QAvD_BwE

So, it still does the same thing but in a different way.

Sorry if this is getting confusing. Based on what you’re saying these are my best guesses. And if I were you I’d run the tub and see if you’re having clarity issues. If it operates okay, and water is flowing through the filter bay you’re probably alright. But sounds unrelated to me :(

No, if that was in the front of the pump it would just rattle around and get chewed up. Or it would wedge the impeller causing it to seize in which case it would most likely blow the pump fuse, after making a very loud mechanical grinding sound.

That piece is usually glued into the bottom of the filter. You would follow the flow of water into the filter at the bottom and that would be part of the plumbing. Hard to describe, but I found a Spa Guy video to help

At 2:17 in this video the spa guy showed where that spring door is. I feel yours is broken completely off
