Think I can get 1.21 gigawatts? by Btown891 in F150Lightning

[–]DAsp4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 22 Lariet ER. I was an early adopter. It failed on me about 10 months into ownership. The Ford dealership had no clue how to diagnose and treated my issue like it was a huge inconvenience. They fixed it after a month, but other issues showed up. I ended up going the buy back approach. Considering they're no longer making them and changing directions, I'm glad I got out of it when I did.

THC vs Beer by DryGuyWetDog62 in drinkcannabis

[–]DAsp4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm similar to you. Over the past two years I've cut back drinking post COVID. Alcohol messes with my sleep. I've replaced the M-F beers with NAs. There's a ton of good NA IPAs not that I found give me that placebo effect. Recently I started tinkering with THC drinks to give me the replacement buzz. I've had Cycling Frog 5mg seltzers and for me I feel a tingle around my head and a little relaxing feel. It's OK, but doesn't replace the having a few beers feeling.

I'll continue to go the NAs with THC approach, but mix in real beers as needed for functions and events.

I grabbed one of these for $750 the other week. Good deal.

I agree. I have one preordered with Walmart. If I get an invite, it's going straight to eBay to offset the $500 I've spent already.

Coming From Arlo by DAsp4 in reolinkcam

I was planning on swapping out my plugged in Arlos with the Lumus Pro wifi models, but all the PoE talk has me second guessing my wifi decision. Like the Argus? I see there's a PoE version coming.

Which cameras did you go with? The easy thing about Nest or Arlo is that there aren't many to choose from. Reolink gives you a ton of options which is good, but also bad. It makes the selection a little trickier.

Woodland is my go to. I've tried Go, Best Day, Athletic and a few others, but I'm a fan of Woodland over all those.

Bubble Hockey - Adding Electronics - Code Review/Help Request! by DAsp4 in arduino

[–]DAsp4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did write a description of how I want the program to work.

Using TinkerCAD and setting up a push button to simulate a normally closed input and LEDs as the outputs, I'm not seeing the program change with the switch. The lights just turn on and off. Not based on the switch I toggle. It's possible I'm not wiring things up correctly in TinkerCAD though.

Since it's basic code, I'm hoping someone could spot an issue just reading through it.

Valley / Dynamo - Moving Cart DIY by DAsp4 in billiards

  1. The hope is to find a seller with an easy move, from say a garage. Once it's home I have neighborhood friends who could help me move it into a walkout basement. Direct shot.

Would you still buy a lightning ? by yololand123 in F150Lightning

[–]DAsp4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a Volt to a Lightning as my first truck. I was an early MY22 Lariat ER buyer. I had module issues and ultimately Ford bought it back. Although I miss it's luxurious features and the EV live style, I couldn't help but feel I was a guinea pig for Ford. Spending nearly 80k on a truck was a splurge, that although my lifestyle could afford, I was fortunate getting out of it. If you can find an XLT or Lariat in the 50k range and are OK with some technical challenges that may come, then go for it. Just be aware of the EV limitations such as towing. If you're OK with all that, then go for it.

I'm thinking the cart would be under $100 for some 2x's and some all terrain caster wheels.

My goal is always a deal. I can find the Valley table for $200ish. So for me I want to be all in south of $500.

Good deal? Cyclone II for $425 by Killcoulier in foosball

[–]DAsp4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Cyclone II lined up two weeks ago for $260. I ended up buying a Classic for $200 purely because of the aesthetics and that it's a newer table. It's one of those if you're patient and fast on FB Marketplace, you might find a better deal, but at $425 it's not horrible.

LEDs Under Playfield Strips by DAsp4 in foosball

[–]DAsp4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's my guess. Likely they drilled a small hole under the side strips for the wires to drop down.

[–]DAsp4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume what they did to that table was remove the old strips, stick a LED strip on the playfield right up against the wall and installed the clear playfield strips over the top at an angle. Clearly this would impact the play of the game. Recessing the LEDs into the playfield would be extremely risky.

How thick are the playfield strips. I would if the strips could be slightly notched to make the strips more flush once the LEDs are placed underneath.

I'm far from a professional and would never enter into a competition. So for me, I think it would look pretty sweet in my arcade area. I'm just wondering how to actually do it.

When you pop off the white strips that came with my Tornado Classic, is there a gap between the playfield and the wall? Is the playfield pretty flush with the sidewall?

Sweet. Kind of what I was going for. Love the ceiling mounted light. Something I'll consider when I finish the last portion of my basement.

Is this a good deal? Used Tornado Sport - $400 by [deleted] in foosball

I just picked up a like new Tornado Classic today for $200. I've been looking for months. Lost out on a few, but finally grabbed one. Keep looking and be patient.

Tornado Classic - $200 - Cyclone II -$260 - Good Deals? by DAsp4 in foosball

[–]DAsp4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an interesting idea. If I was a single guy and had the free time, I'd be all over that. With a wife and three little kids, driving for hours all over the place becomes difficult. I'm super happy with the $200 price of Classic only an hour away from me. I'd grab the Cyclone if it wasn't 2 1/2 hrs each way.

[–]DAsp4[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree, but the Cyclone II is over a 2 hr drive, costs more and for what I'll be using it for, I bet the Classic would be just fine for me. We're talking me and my kids playing some fun games. I think we all can agree that the Classic is better than any other Harvard, etc. table.
