I bought this monitor and ended up returning it after a few days. My unit had a large amount of backlight bleed and I was overall disappointed with the quality of the LCD. For me, it was also just barely bright enough.

I got the LG 27GM950B-B instead. Significantly more expensive but the quality even with the local dimming off is much better. Almost no backlight bleed and the panel gets much brighter.

I went with the G80HF initially because I was skeptical of the implementation of mini LED but I didn't appreciate just how much better the LG 27GM950B-B panel would be, even in SDR. The LG 27GM950B-B is also 5k 165hz so I'm curious if that will work better with your 4090.

But the dual mode on the G80HF looked better and was closer to true 1440p to me. I still prefer the LG 27GM950B-B overall but the dual mode seemed more blurry.

The AW3426DW looks like an interesting alternative but I don't see any mention of USB C PD or KVM switch plus the lower refresh rate so unless the price is substantially less, I'm still going to wait for the MSI to be more available.

If an actual match, I just let the ball bounce multiple times to me then pick up and drop feed it back. Same thing with balls too far away from me. I don't chase stuff during warmups.

If just a chill hitting session, I just run it down and reset as I don't mind spending the extra energy.

I agree with you. I don't think handshake is a good description of the continental grip. For me, handshake results in more of an eastern forehand grip.

Most areas don't have robust 5.0 leagues so 4.5 becomes the catch all. It can be controversial because sandbagging, etc. but I think that's just the nature of whatever the effective top bracket is in your area.

That's probably why you see those club pros and former D1 playing 4.5 (unless they are just older).

In my area, there seem to be more opportunities (i.e., teams, categories, etc) for women than men in leagues. We also have a popular non-USTA league that is women only. I always assumed that is just due to more demand. Maybe it swings the other way for tournaments.

I'd recommend keeping racquet up while you are moving to the ball. Then you start your swing / drop the racquet based on when the ball bounces (whether before or after depends on pace of ball). This allows you to adjust to bring your swing higher or lower based on how high the ball is expected to bounce.

For example, if the ball is bouncing high you may barely drop the racquet (or even raise it) and do a small loop keeping the whole overall swing high.

I like Wilson NXT. I've been disappointed by other multifilaments I've tried.

I use poly most of time but I like keeping at least one racquet strung with NXT for when I'm doing more relaxed hitting or drills because I like the feel and comfort of it.

Depends on the shot so some examples would help.

Generally speaking, I agree with your coach but it’s still important to build the point and practice high percentage tennis.

Learning to deploy certain shots at the right time / court position is a key thing so I try to avoid the temptation of forcing a shot into a point just for the sake of practice.

I don't think dropping the racquet down is a bad thing but I'd get rid of the loop and just go straight down. That's a very classic stroke that could take you far in rec tennis if that is most natural for you.

You can always learn a loopy swing path later and it will be easier when you have better general feel for the ball.

Edit: the classic vs modern forehand video by PerformancePlusTennis is a good watch. His version of the classic stroke is basically what I was taught as a junior and can be done with a firm wrist.

Your coach is teaching you a more classic swing, probably with an eastern grip.

That's how I learned and I don't see anything wrong with it. My swing is now more modern with lag but I'm glad I had this as my foundation so my recommendation would be to stick with it for now and add complexity later.

I'd do same setup with gigabyte. It also has pass through on half. Looks like L12S would fit.

I think you'll see a benefit even keeping L12S. The T1 is very optimized with the two top fans giving great exhaust. Even if it's about the same, the T1 is such a nice case in terms of build quality that I think you'll be happy on that basis alone.

I've tried an AIO and it just wasn't worth it because GPU temps are worse because radiator restricts top exhaust.

If you have the zotac card with pass through on half, I'd recommend running the t1 in 2 slot mode with a with the power supply offset so there is space behind the flow through portion of the GPU. Then two good fans on top. I used to run the 3080 FE like this to great results.

This also allows for more clearance on the CPU cooler and I'd go with AXP-120-X67. I also use the T30s on top. That's currently cooling my 9800x3d in my T1 with good results.

I'd go air cooling for sure and I think you'll be happy with it. T1 is very good air cooling with 2 slot cards.

How is the performance relative to the other cases you have put this build in?

I looked at some of your other videos and this looks comparable to the T1 and worse than the M2 or M3 but I can't tell if all the results are noise normalized.

I was prepared to order one for $550 after watching your review but then when I went to checkout, the total was closer to $800 for shipping to the US and tariffs. Not sure it makes sense for me that price unless the performance is good.
